BHVR when will you stop lying.
What's with all lies. BHVR you need to stop caring about money and actually care every patch it makes it seem like you dont. Console optimization was supposed to be better but it got so bad with the recent patch the game already barely got 60 fps now it goes to 20.
No more exclusives you say you dont want to exclude anyone but you go on to release another exclusive the crown one. Then you have legacy which you still refuse to give to everyone. I'll keep this topic short because I could make a whole post about it. You cant give out lunar new year exclusives but not give out legacy you are alienating console players who had something special they worked for. But the point is they lied there are still exclusives.
Server side hit detection and 60 tick servers it was supposed to be released with this patch yesterday but its still not here. You guys got the cheapest servers on the market and you still cant even improve them. You go on to tell us how it was gonna get better and yet you still haven't done it.
These are 3 things that stand out to me on the list of lies the devs have told and I'm sick of it I cant keep playing this game if you guys arent gonna actually show you care about the community and make your game better. I'm talking to you devs if you dont stop worrying about damn 10 dollar linked skins you cant even mix and match instead of focusing on health the playerbase with decline.
One more thing before I go start making weekly patches to just fix bugs and leave the monthly ones to the content drops. If the way to get to you guys is with our wallets then be it.
Devs you will most likely ignore this post as you do with others and if you view it as attacking you I will most likely get banned but so be it you guys dont care for your console fans or game.

People who work on servers and people who work on cosmetics are two different teams.
11 -
The game is fine. Bugs are nothing new with an update and no game is bug-free.
1 -
That's such a selfish argument to make. Cosmetics are their main source of income.
3 -
can't blame the devs for console hardware being trash
They're in the middle of a graphics rework FYI
0 -
I got a feeling they’re taking a pass on PlayStation optimization until the Five releases later this year.
0 -
It's not even my xboxs hardware sure they dont compare to pc but when I cam run gears 5 smooth 60 no matter the game mode but I cant run this game 60 fps constantly that's the problem its poor optimization that's all it is they dont care either.
3 -
Console does not mean just PlayStation. Why PlayStation users have a hard time understanding this is a mystery.
4 -
Exactly this. I can run any other game on my PS4 with zero issues. Yet when I load up DbD, the console suddenly pretends to be an airplane and starts overheating. The game was never optimised for console. It was a direct port from PC and since it was SUPPOSED to be optimised last year, but never was, I very much doubt it's coming. And with the new graphics rework, I guarantee it's going to get worse for consoles.
5 -
I mean we came to the point that they're popping more skins than bugfixes, we can clearly say funding favors one of those two teams.
Just sayin'
0 -
Thank you finally its just they donr care enough to optimize it for consoles and make it run smooth thats all they dont care.
0 -
Exactly they even ee advertised the nea skin trying to get more money the devs.
0 -
The entire argument that
"They're separate teams" is just bullshit.
The disparity of funding on each team is obvious as more and more bugs are known with each patch. They're releasing their Greek Cosmetics, along with Rift Cosmetics and hardly anything on the balancing side or bug fixes.
Clown, Yui, Spirit, Adam, Feng, Jane, David, Oni, Wraith, Hag, Meg, Ace and the different colorization, new charms ALL brought to you by their cosmetic team.
What does the balance, bug fixes, glitch fixes, optimization team give us?
Sub-par bug fixes. We're still getting the bug that survivors are silent while slugged, Nurse still can't blink in the entire Midwich Hallway, now Plague is bugged AND Auras need another fix.
Auras, again, an unnecessary change that will require BUG FIX RESOURCES to fix. An easy mistake to avoid if they would have left it alone. Now resources will have to be spent on this, rather than other fixes. I don't....
I can't even properly post a correct argument because my mind is racing on this subject.
It's baffling, the amount of neglect from their bug fixing, glitches and optimization department.
16 -
Last i saw bhvr had 50 people working on this game. I guess 2 of them are for balance as confirmed by almo... 47 are cosmetic and 1 is bug fixing lol.
5 -
I didn’t mean to offend. That’s why I said PlayStation specifically y’goofball.
1 -
No game is bug free but the level of bugs in dbd is excessive and fixes seem to be implemented slowly.

BHVR:
Just kidding, I had to do it though

If what I heard is true, the way the game was initially created, is why the game becomes so buggy. They didn't originally use C+++ Coding. They used a different form that isn't meant to hold so much stuff. If this game just shut down, a lot of people would literally not know what to do with themselves. Be more patient and respectful. This game has come a long way and needs an engine update from scratch, not harassment every day on the forums on why they suck and everyone hates the game yet you see the same people the next day posting something else to complain about after they said they would stop playing.
It starts to go from creative feedback to just a barrage of insults and self-entitlement. If they don't have time to update the engine, be prepared for bugs. This isn't a triple-A game. It was a start-up game that got popular. If people can't have some patience, they shouldn't be on Social Media or Forums. It's counterproductive. No one works better when they're continuously told that they suck. Same goes for killers vs survivors mentality, it's stupid and needs to go. That's how I feel about all of this.
4 -
They use unreal engine and use a lazy form of coding. That why we don't see any bug fixes for months just like it took nine months to just fix survivors sound but DS fix took five days. They can fix things it is just not a priority.
3 -
At least they're fixing stuff. Just because people snap their fingers and expect stuff to magically be done, is no reason to harass the devs.
2 -
I'm so sick of this argument. You people don't realize it's busted?
Yes, there are 2 different teams. But that doesn't mean that both teams are equal. If the cosmetics team has 30 people on it and the bug fixing/balance/server teams have each 2/3 people then there's an issue and the fact that there are 2 different teams makes no difference.

Flashlights and Auras arrive broken in patch and are to be fixed later, yet the Rift and new outfits release on time
2 -
You also don't need to be a brown noser and just say everything is fine when it's not.
0 -
Buy a skin, man. The dopamine hit will make you feel better!
0 -
priorities you know? people claim they cant see anything, we'll work on it. while we are at it lets release our next pass give us money please.
In all fairness those skins were done months ago, however that doesn't change how tone deaf the decision is. they could of held off.
0 -
Being a brown noser is different from disagreeing with people. I have stated bugs before but continuously vomiting up the same things over and over again, day in and day out does nothing for us or the devs. They're working on them. Just because I don't constantly scream at people because I disagree doesn't mean I don't have any issues with them. The bugs people are describing, I haven't had yet except for the occasional sound bug when the survivor is on the ground and they make no noise.
I'm not going to agree or yell if I haven't had the same issue. That's ludicrous. If you don't like someone's opinion, that is fine but don't insult someone. I could say a lot about people's attitudes on here but I don't. This is a place of discussion, not ridicule. If I see something that I'm about to reply or make a remark on but it seems to be very hostile, I usually won't bother with a reply.

Appropriate username. Glad to see another user like you.

No they are fixing stuff slowly the amount of bugs is absurd. Bugs ar eont a priority with BHVR ######### cosmetics are because that's how money is made. Dont you think people would be more inclined to buy stuff if the game worked?
0 -
The cosmetic team is completely different from the balance team and the others. If they stop making money, they can't pay their own employees. No employees means no bug fixes. No bug fixes means the game is dead. I've said this before. Give them time.
1 -
they are not strapped for cash this is a fallacy that stops the conversation.
0 -
I wasn't aware their finance department made their expenses public. Can you post a link to that?
0 -
You're implying like the Graphics Rework will solve all current issues. It won't. Might make things worse.
0 -
no I do not know their exact numbers, but I do know that they have a steadily growing player base and I also know that that player base doesn't all stop at the base purchase of the game. characters, licensed characters, cosmetics.
they aren't poor and even if you do conservative math they have still made a lot of money. Again this reply is to try and stop the conversation.
haven't found their total copies sold in 2019 but i could probably guess they are close to 7 million by now across all platforms. its not stupid to guess that they aren't desolate and begging for cash on the street corner.

My point was that they're different teams in BVHR. Telling them to stop doing their job to help the bug team that isn't their job will cause a major trainwreck for BHVR. They're artists, not engineers/programmers. Just because I'm great and Blender or 3D Animations doesn't mean I program. Different teams for different things. Everyone complains every day about the same things. They get it. Be patient. You're not coding their game so you don't know what they're dealing with.

Now subtract salaries and other running costs like servers, infrastructure, and so on. See how much is left over.

I don't say anything with a level of reason. Everyone can have a opinion but I will always trust the eye test over a persons word. If you don't want criticism don't put your art out to the world.
0 -
nobody is saying that its the cosmetics teams fault for doing their jobs and if there are people out there making that dumb argument then they are wrong. However it is managements fault for putting too much assets into one department causing this imbalance. You're right I don't know the noodle code they are dealing with but that again comes down to poor management.
0 -
Which do you think is easier: creating cosmetics and other visual assets on an existing system, or fixing bugs with said system? When you answer that, you'll know why bug fixes take longer.
0 -
you're right, doing your work the right way is hard.
1 -
Can you answer the actual question I wrote?
0 -
I don't believe that BHVR has ever did something to hurt their own game on purpose. Its a bug for a reason and I refuse to come with a mob mentality. Those guys said its a lot of bugs so they must be right! You can have your own opinion but insulting someone isn't one. I truly believe BHVR is doing their best and I won't be a part of the constants who keep throwing a fit.
I do believe it was said that they rather do cosmetics than fix their game. It's always mentioned that if they stopped doing cosmetics then the game would get fixed. That is just not correct. The game would stagnate then die without some type of income. You can't pay people to fix something for free. That is my point.
1 -
which one the pay salary or the bug fix?
heres your answer for both.
for the salary your arguement is one out of faith/ignorance. you know I cant know what their finacial situation is. I can only give my best guess based off the information THEY release. something they as a private and not public company dont do. I do know that they are estimated to make 25M to 50M a year on glass door which is a decently reputable site for seeing how employees or former employees feel about their company and how well they are doing (note that glass door is where quite a few allegations got uncovered for the recent ubisoft sexual misconduct scandal that lead to several people retiring from the company). I also know that software companies are expected to have around a 78% margin profit (what they spend versus what they make) find that here https://pocketsense.com/considered-good-gross-margin-percentage-10071606.html
even if we halve that they would make more than most regular companies are expected to make since software developing companies (this includes games) are the most profitable in the world in terms of what they spend versus what they make. this sadly also creates the sadness that is what the ceo makes versus the grunts. CEO Bobby Kodick making in the billions while activision lays off hundreds of employees who didnt even crack 6 figure salaries.
onto the bug fixing, you're claiming I didnt answer your question and thats not true, you just dont like my answer. which is easier, cosmetics or bug fixes? Cosmetics, but thats a byproduct of mismanagement and poor managing of assets. if management was better, if the leaders were better, we wouldnt need this conversation, because the problem would exist in the state that it is.

I want to remind everyone to keep your comments civil and respectful.
If you want to discuss something, please do it in a constructive way, but since this thread had multiple insulting comments towards the team and their work, we decided to close it.
