Tapp's perks are VERY underrated.

Why don't I see more people running some of these perks? Let's talk about them in order, they're so fun.

Tenacity: Allows you to crawl basically at walking speed and recover at the same time. Very fun, and actually works quite well and saves you a lot of time.

Detective's hunch: Shows you totems and chests when you do a gen. The best counter to NOED in the game, and works very well in combination with inner strength.

Stake out: meh, I can hit great skill checks anyway.

tapp is the goat, only problem with tenacity is that the killer has to slug for it to have any use. detective's hunch is good but i rather another perk than using hunch

tenacity is very meh in my opinion.

detective's hunch is one of my favourite perks in the game ngl

stake out is good if youre newer or if you dont have a great framerate.

two are outclassed by other perks, detective's is great however when you do 3 gens and 4 totems and your team cant do anything right apparently and you still get hit by noed it's pretty #########.

I hate using those meta perks (besides dead hard, it's so fun). I like using off meta and fun perks like inner strength, pebble, detectives hunch and calm spirit.

Detectives Hunch - How is a perk that counters one of the most complained about killer perks in the game (NOED, but all totem perks too) "weak"?

Tenacity - How is a perk that allows you to recover and crawl away much faster, that works BEAUTIFULLY with Unbreakable and Soul Guard "weak"?

The other one is very situational, so I'll give you that.

Detective's Hunch is practically the go-to perk for hunting Totems if the 3 other Survivors are more concerned with humping Gens, pair it with Small Game and those totems don't stand a chance.

Stake Out is for Great Skill Check challenges if your lazy.

Tenacity sucks if the Killer decides to not slug you and even then Unbreakable is better honestly.

Detective's Hunch is really, really good for finding totems.

Stake Out used to be really good vs Ruin, but still is pretty good today if you just want easy great skillchecks.

Tenacity isn't that great. It's good for meme builds or deciding to crawl away from the killer when slugged and bleeding to death out of spite. Oh, and slug races at the exit gate.

Detectives hunch is severely underrated. Tenacity is decent for slug based builds. Stake Out is good for new players. I like Tapp a lot, I wish they would give him some skins based off Adam or Lawrence or something though.

Detective's Hunch is great, but with the auras lately it should be called Detective's Eye Exam.

Tenacity is honestly the only standout perk from Tapp and even then, I only use it when paired w/ unbreakable. If I’m looking for totems I’d bring a map instead of using a perk slot on Detectives hunch.

Tenacity its really not that great, because most killer will just pick you up right after you get downed, so its not worth the choice if you will never see it work most of the time. Its not bad, its just very situational compared to other perks that are way better.

Stake out its very meh, but will help if you are new or struggle a bit with skillchecks in general, or really just want to make them easier.

And the reason Detective Hunch is not used, its because there is no need to take a perk that works only after a gen when you can bring yourself an item that can do that everytime that you want. If you really want to take out totems, you are way better position by just taking a map with you. Dont get me wrong, you can use it so you can bring another item with it, but why.

Detectives Hunch is a lifesaver for me when I run Inner Strength. Tenacity has saved me from greedy killers many times, except the one time I just managed to reach the exit gate and ALMOST crawled out but died to EGC. Stake Out is pretty meh. Stay in the killer TR for X seconds for an auto great skill check. I'll pass on that one for sure.

Detective’s Hunch is one of my favourite perks in the game and I don’t understand why I never see anybody else using it. I also love running Tenacity + Unbreakable + Flip-Flop. That can lead to some funny plays.

Because we need to use DS, BT and kindred for campers/tunnelers. That's all

Did you forget Stake Out has the OG great skillcheck bonus now?

Not only are you getting a Guaranteed great skill check, it grants a noticeably bigger bonus to gen progression!

Stake Out should be getting alot more attention for how much it makes great skill checks more rewarding since it has the orignal value before 1+ survivor gen speed nerf happened.

It's outclassed by Prove Thyself. I used to LOVE it before the Ruin nerf, but now I just don't see it as worth the perk slot.

Stake out is his best perk idk why its so undervalued. Bonus progression is amazing on anything you're doing, and if you can hit great skill checks well you're still getting the 2% bonus from the perk on gens without using a token. I've been enjoying using it with a med kit and the sponge add on, as it gives a big spike in recovery for a great skill check and with tokens you dont even need to be precise.

I've been running Detective's Hunch lately- I've been running Inner Strength for a long time now and know the totem spawns for most maps pretty well, but with how my team has been being tortured by Devour Hope lately, I've had to pop that perk on and devour the killer's hopes that they'll mori or 1 hit down us instead. I just wish they buffed it so that the auras showed longer than they currently do... I've had matches where NONE of the gens are completed in times where I am able to get a good look at those short aura blips (either from being in a chase, having to hide momentarily in a locker, hooked too far away to see relevant auras, etc)

There are so many situations where I've wished I had Tenacity on, but it's a very, very situational perk that is just completely outclassed by other perks. For every situation I've wished I had Tenacity on, there are 10 other situations that I've wished I had DS, DH, BT, or UB on instead of something else.

Other perk of his is not even worth looking at LOL

I basically run DH all the time. There's never any noed, hex builds get absolutely wrecked by it, and it gives a lot of free boldness. Played against a Huntress with TotH+Lullaby the other night that was crushing us. A single gen went off and there went all her totems and she didn't get another hook until 4 gens later.

Tenacity is meh. I like that you can crawl and recover. It gives you the opportunity to hide without your allies running over to you and finding you unrecovered which gets you hooked and makes them annoyed. The issue is you have to be slugged to use it at all, and then you also have to wait for the killer to not be looking as nobody will slug you when they see you move quickly.

Stake Out is decent. IIRC it still uses old great skill checks, so it actually gives you a significant percentage boost to skill checks. That said it's not really worth the slot as Prove Thyself does the same thing better and gives you a craptonne of bloodpoints.

Also if you wanna do a let's play hard mode build you can combo tenacity with unbreakable and no mither no mither allows infinity self pickup's combo with the speed of tenacity and the faster recovery speed of unbreakable as long as you have teammates that distract a killer you can get back up easily

I don't care about crawling faster, and i prefer to not have to hang around in the Killer's Terror Radius.

I actually really like Detective's Hunch, but there are other Perks i like more.

    DrDeepwound Member Posts: 2,557

Because the people who complain about NOED do not want to counter it, they just want it removed from the game.

They want to run DS not Detective Hunch

  • Ghost_Face_Main
    Ghost_Face_Main Member Posts: 618

    Sadly true.

    Combining them is godlike

Undeniably though, you can't shave off as much time on a gen anymore with the current bonus like you could before, and that's why Stake Out is powerful in its own right. Somehow, jumping up the now mere 1% to a 2% can make a difference.

    HectorBrando Member Posts: 3,167

Because his perks depend on what the Killer does or you can surpass them with your own skill.

If the Killer doesnt slug Tenacity is useless and once you know most totem spawns and how to hit great skill checks consistently Detective's Hunch and Stake Out lose a lot of utility, they are not bad perks but why I would pick them instead of something stronger or more consistent?.

Detective's Hunch is so useful. It's one of my favorite perks. It helps you plan your gens, grab an item when needed, and gives you basically free boldness points. It helps you prevent Noed or render any other Hex perk useless. The perk is S tier to me.

  • ManyAchievables
    ManyAchievables Member Posts: 667

Stakeout is one of my favourite perks.

Detective's Hunch is also pretty good with Inner Strength and Tenacity is a good anti-slug perk that doesn't just straight up remove a way for a Killer to gain momentum like a certain meta perk...

    Customapple0 Member Posts: 629

Detectives Hunch I only ever run with a map, otherwise I don’t use it. With map that means I can just run Addons to extend its use.

  • azame
    azame Member Posts: 2,870

I love running tenacity if the killer leaves you for like 10 seconds you can crawl away and if you have unbreakable it's a really good synergy.

  • Bard
    Bard Member Posts: 657

Stake Out is also pretty nice.

On top of giving you an extra bonus to great skill checks (not great but not bad), it gives a visual indicator of the terror radius

This is great against Oni and Deathslinger, since their TR audio is faint on the edge, and it's just the MVP for any deaf players who are still masochistic enough to play the game.

    Best build right now is

    • Stake Out
    • We're Gonna Live Forever
    • Prove Thyself
    • Self-Care w/ medkit

Some games I get more BP then the Killer.
