This MMR system is either not working right or insulting my skill as a survivor
Alright, now I'm a red rank solo survivor that has about 1.6K hours in the game. I would like to think I'm decent at survivor, as I usually end up carrying my teams that struggle doing gens or that can't hold chase for that long. I'm not trying to say I'm a god tier survivor, but I think I should at least be ranked as competent & efficient according to the MMR system. Apparently that is not the case though. This new system is matching me with some very questionable survivors. Like I'm getting paired with yellow & brown ranks consistently today. & they aren't playing like high rank survivors, not in the slightest. Even the killers I'm being matched against don't feel that skilled as killer, but they keep winning because I'm getting paired with some very bad teams. It feels like its a 1v4 where I'm up against a killer & 3 lackluster survivor teammares. If the MMR system really ranks me this low, then what the heck is going into determining someone's MMR? Because I think I'm at least good enough at chases & doing objectives & helping teammates enough to not be this low ranked in the new system.

you could be the greatest survivor alive but
no one will read about it if you cant space out your sentences lmao

I've had the same yellow med kit on for the past 9 games and the only reason I died in game 9 was because it was a Freddy running a disgusting build with a Mori. Every killer before that was between ranks 8-19 and half of them were babies with like 1 or 2 perks.
Easiest games I've played in a long time

It's literally just a paragraph. Why would I space out the sentences for a brief post...

it hurts to look at, i think a lot of people would agree with me.

But bro it will take 10 games to even out your MMR. What’s that, you’ve played more than 10 matches and you’re still getting paired with players who have 20 hours in the game? Git gud!

They wouldn't.

Which makes your eyes a little more tired?
===
Light text on dark backgrounds creates more eye strain than dark text on a light background.
By spacing sentences out rather than writing proper paragraphs makes the short form text easier to read for many people.
If you want people to read a long post, make sure that it's formatted for readability rather than an English grade.

There are a couple of possible reasons for matches like
There are a few possible reasons you could get matches like you're describing even assuming that the matchmaking is working correctly:
- If the matchmaking is starting with a killer, and then looking at possible groups that could have a "close match", it's possible to have a low- or mid-rating killer matched against three low-rated survivors and one high rank survivor balancing out their team.
- Depending on the time of day there may not be enough survivors to pull in four people of relatively equal rating in which case it would probably pull in two or three of equal skill and then fill in the rest with whoever is available.
- SWFS with a high rated person playing with a low rated friend or two could lead to disparities in the ratings in a match
- If you are playing a killer that you haven't played in a long time or really infrequently play then it's possible your rating with that killer is different than it should be. They've said that when you first play a new killer, for instance, your initial rating would be something like the average of your ratings among all the other killers, which is probably reasonable most of the time but not always of course (even otherwise good players get curb stomped the first time they play Nurse for instance.) They've also mentioned it takes about 10 matches on a new killer for you to be adjusted up or down to about where you should be.

Why can't it do both? lol

I'd mostly agree with you but if dark text on a light background were truly easier for eyes, people who unironically use Discord Light Mode would, you know, actually exist.

It's a little of both actually.

dude the system on pc wasnt even out for a day seriouslty dont complain for at least a week for a system like that to actually get the right mmr on people

I guess the MMR works better the more the game is played by that individual, as more trials gives a greater accuracy to that person's particular skillset. So it could be that you're facing people at an early stage, where they maybe trashed earlier opponents.
We're not sure how the numbers work in terms of MMR. I can only speak from my own experience that the MMR has been a much, much needed improvement on the previous system, and I've been very happy with it.
It would be good to see how the MMR calculates, so as to get a better understanding. However, I also believe there are people who would exploit the system, once they understand how. This would then throw matchmaking under another bus. If that's the case I empathise with the developers.
In the meantime, just smash out some easy victories and see whether the quality improves or not.

I honestly dont think its even working tbh something is bugged.

They said they have been calculating ppl's MMR for a while now. The system should be working decently at least if they are properly calculating MMR. Like it's significantly worse than the previous matchmaking system in that not a single match today have I had a competent team. I'm just voicing my thoughts on how it is after less than a day, & it's not that great atm.
Any victory today has not been easy. I literally escaped once doing ALL 5 GENS. Like how tf do I get a team this bad, & a killer that was whiffing like a mf. & a match earlier where I was in chase for several minutes & not a single gen was done. I don't know how to get my team to actually be competent & it's driving me nuts.

The system is right now most likely collecting Data and it tries to figure out where you belong.

You want to swap?
I'm getting rank 1/2 killers and 16-18 survivors while I'm now stuck in purple ranks.

They look the same to me bud, just spaced differently.

Of course they look the same lol
The question is how do your eyes feel reading both. Or how would they feel if the text in a paragraph was longer.
It doesn't really matter though since the OP hasn't bothered to edit the block of text lol
