Getting downed animation
Yea, yello. I had the unpleasantry to actually heck myself over unintentionally.
When playing survivor and exit gates are opened I'm almost always sitting next to actual exit letting killer one or two hit me to down me into exit. But recently I did this against Freddy, as always I was turned front to the exit, literally standing on border to escape, but instead falling to the front as always I did the back flip animation dragging me back, giving him enough time to pick me up and hang. So apart from me being quite salty, and probably not letting killers do that ever again, my question is:
Is there any particular thing you have to do to fall particular way, or it's pure RNG?

Point and it doesn't do that.
When you point, you will finish the point animation and fall face first in the direction you're facing.
Make sure you're facing the exit gates though, when he downs you as you're pointing you will fall immediately.
This prevents this from happening and it's a 100% success rate. Try it.

If you get hit from the front you will always flip that's probably what happened to you the Freddy might have strategically moved in a better position or you might have been facing him unintentionally.

^^^ that. Look, it doesn't matter if it gives more BP to escape late. if you fool around in the corridor killers will use every chance they can get to get a kill in.
(you don't wanna know how many complaints from survs I had as Deathslinger... look, if you are injured and fooling around in the corridor, you will get a spear through your sternum)

Where you get hit from dictates the animation you'll get. So that Freddy was clearly clever in this situation and got you good.

Someone has trouble reading. I didn't teabag, I'm literally staying next to escape border to let killer land hit or two on me so he can get more BPs.
As I said, I was staying to let killer hit me for his bonus BPs. No teabagging, no running in circles for no reason, literally staying on border between 2 pillars that count as escaping when you cross those.

Thanks for advice, but doesn't that make me fall in place, instead of forward? I mean it's definitely safer than risking random backflip but still risk involved innit?

Ah. okay, that's different. Hmm... I've seen the backflip on other killers... Maybe there's a certain chance for that animation?

Yea I expected that could be the possibility, he ran to my side as far as he could, probably got "front'ish" angle on me.

When you're emoting and get downed you can actually move immidiately, even if your body is still emoting. You'll then immidiately fall forwards and if you hadn't already, you'll escape the trial.
