Bloodpoint Calculation
I am just trying to understand how bloodpoints are calculated. I thought I understood, but I got different results than what was displayed post-match.
Perks:
- BBQ&Chili - (got 4 stacks) 100% in all categories
- Distressing - 100% in deviousness
- Hex: Thrill of the Hunt - no totems cleansed, +50% in hunter (<--not certain on this one)
- non-BP perk
Offerings:
- Others - Bloody Party streamers - 100% in all
- Me - +50% in Hunter
Results were:
- Brutality - 5,000, +0%
- Deviousness - 8,000, +100%
- Hunter - 8,000, +100% (offering and perk)
- Sacrifice - 5,500, +0%
- All - 26,500, +200% (BBQ & streamers)
So this is how I THINK this is calculated, I'm off by 12,000 from what was actually awarded.
5,000 + 8,000 + 8,000 + 5,500 = 26,500 -- BASE
BASE + BASE * BRUTALITY + BASE * DEVIOUSNESS + BASE * HUNTER + BASE * SACRIFICE + BASE * ALL
26,500 + 26,500 * 0 + 26,500 * 1 + 26,500 * 1 + 26,500 * 0 + 26,500 * 2 = 95,500
I was awarded 83,500, with a base of 26,500 and bonus of 57,00
Calculated I thought I should have got 95,500, base of 26,500 and bonus of 69,000
I've tried adjusting the percentages of each category but nothing gets the same results as post-match awards. Am I missing something in calculation? This is just pure curiosity.

OK, so. Here's how it works. Distressing and Thrill of the Hunt's bonus BP are award IN-TRIAL, which means that when you're reached 8k BP in a category, that 100% bonus from Distressing ain't worth anything anymore. In the meantime, BBQ and Bloody Party Streamer both award their bonus BP POST-TRIAL. They multiply the total amount of the BP gained IN-TRIAL. Same goes for that Hunter BP offering.
So what you got was 26,500 (base) + 26,500 (BBQ at 4 stacks) + 26,500 (Bloody Party Streamer) + 4000 (Hunting Offering) for a total of 83,500 BP.

basically perks like distressing help you get to the 8k cap faster, whilst perks like barbeque are added in addition to the 8k cap

EDIT: -- Oops, misprint on calculation
BASE + BRUTALITY * B_BONUS + DEVIOUSNESS * D_BONUS + HUNTER * H_BONUS + SACRIFICE * S_BONUS + BASE * ALL
26,500 + 5,000 * 0 + 8,000 * 1 + 8,000 * 1 + 5,500 * 0 + 26,500 * 2 = 95,500

I'm not sure I follow what is the difference between IN-TRIAL and POST-TRIAL. Either way you still gain the BPs?

Each category has a bp cap (circle will be fully red on the outside and say MAX)
You cannot gain more then this except with BBQ, streamers, survivor pudding etc (post trial finish bonus).
Distressing etc will just make you hit the in trial cap faster (useless mostly)

Each Category have a cap of 8K points. IN-TRIAL BP bonuses makes you reach that cap faster and once reach, the bonus isn't useful anymore. The IN-TRIAL bonuses are not worth pursuing unless you feel the perk they're connected to do enough on their own, like how Doctor generally benefit from Distressing increased Terror Radius.
