How would you rework the game?

I’m interested to know what changes people would like to see if they actually could make alterations to the game. Below is my top 10 opinionated and possibly biased changes that I believe will improve gameplays.

  1. Remove rank system completely. It’s inaccurate, most reds I encounter play like they should be 10s on both sides. Also eliminates complaints about ranks during MM. Instead my proposed MM system would be focused on hours played, may be difficult to find a full game with people in the same category resulting in higher queues however.
  2. Allow BP in KYF. Tremendously reduce BP gained...if there’s no rank system there’s no way to abuse this. Now you can freely learn the game or try new builds while not totally wasting your time.
  3. Add a Master Inventory. For survivors, all items and offerings (not add-ons) can be banked in a master inventory and shared amongst your other survivor characters. For killer, this would have to be limited to offerings only, but I’ll take it! This will help remove some of the tedious grinding the game commands you to do. Example: I despise Nea. She’s just plain ugly. So after buying her teachables and never playing her, we could use the items and offerings we purchased with her bloodweb on another survivor we do play. I apologize for all the Nea Mains that are offended, but I don’t really have sincerity in that apology.
  4. Lower quantity of gens spawned. Instead of having all 7 spawned in the game, limit this to 5. The 6th will spawn in after the first gen pops, the seventh spawns in after the 2nd gen pops. This will slightly slow down the gen rush and make late-game planning ahead a bit more fun and unpredictable.
  5. Limit survivor characters in matches! Seriously, who wants to play with 3 ugly Neas!? No two players can play as the same character in one match.
  6. Remove DS from loadouts and increase item chest spawns to 4 (base). DS can only be obtained from an item box, which sounds rough...but now you’re playing with 5 perks. Base % chance to get DS out of a box at 50%. Luck perks and offerings stack to increase this. Give survivors a reason to search these boxes to slow down gens a tiny bit.
  7. Add regression to exit gates. No more 99 the gate and run out when the time is right. Regresses at 200% survivor speed.
  8. Allow tile placement in custom games. Every gen, totem, pallet, debris, TL, shack, hills, trees, jungle gyms...allow players to place it all!! Then show off your creation for the chance to win shards or something. Obviously, the items you can place and the quantity you can place should be dependent on the normal tiles of the map. Example, you can’t place a combine on ‘The Game’ or a killer shack in ‘Haddonfield’, etc.
  9. Add a Kill a SWF mode with 3x BP. Killers can choose this to REALLY test out builds at the highest difficulty, or just show-off their skill level, or maybe they just appreciate a viable challenge. This does NOT mean a SWF team can only be paires with a killer in this mode, but it should take priority. Facing a SWF while in normal public matches will still be possible.
  10. Allow a vote option for rematches. With majority survivor vote, you can play the same opponent(s) in another game with hopefully a different map. The killer doesn’t need to choose a different character to play as, but MUST change loadouts including offerings. Ever get Mori’d really early in a game for a de-pip and you want it back? Now’s your chance, knowing the killer can no longer use Mori as an offering. Accepted rematches should reward 2x BP to help convince the killer to accept.

    1. i dont like rank system except they give a really good reward.

    4. no remember they put 7 cuz killer will camp a gen
    5. no ppl want to play theyre own main characters let them have fun.
    6. if they do that then killers should remove something.
    7. i like that but exit doors needs a reworks since sometimes they spawn very close and killers can camp to see wheres the survivor.

    2. Sadly the bp gains would have to be near insignificant to prevent abuse, this can't really happen

    3. I would prefer if survivors weren't just skins, a unique passive or item in bloodweb for each survivor maybe?

    4. Makes patrolling easier for killers. I like the intended result, but hiding gens wouldn't work because CI exists. I prefer a Trial Warmup.

    5. Agreed. No more meme squads. Probably won't happen though because devs want solos to be able to always play their main survivor.

    6. Seems like a weird and hard to code way of adding a second objective. A second objective could be implemented better.

    7. Is obviously only here for reasons of bias. There's nothing wrong with 99ing, as the devs have stated.

    8. Too hard to code.

    9. That would be nice if moris didn't exist.

    10. Would affect queue times poorly, abusable by farming.

    Remove campers/tunnelers. In Europe you can play against 15-20 ruxxian campers in a row.

    I would force people to play both roles, one role must have at least 33% of games or you cant queue for the other. At least this way the "We vs THEM!!" mentality wouldnt be so prevalent and people wouldnt suggest the outrageous changes they suggest sometimes (or maybe they would, but at least they would get shot down really fast).

    While its not killing the game itself is killing the community, you cant have civilized games or threads without a bunch of "mains" jumping in and kidnapping the thread, and I bet Developers would be more than happy to see the tension diminishing and the complains getting more reasonable.

    I agree. Mains should have to at least try the other side, but they shouldn't be forced to waste a lot of time on that side. 5% is a more reasonable request imo.

    5% is only 1 on every 20 games, Im sure most mains already have that and they are still as toxic as truck filled to the brim with plutonium.

    Maybe 33% is way too much.

    The Exit Gate sounds good, although 200% seems too high. It can be slower than that, so there's still a tactic to manage the doors, but makes it a little less safe. However, if as a Killer you see a 99% door, just hit it to open. Gives you bloodpoints and takes from then. Also you can get Blood Warden to be a bit more useful that way.

    What would be better would be a way of changing the start of the trial. Maybe have a switch somewhere that needs to be flicked by survivors to make the gens ready for working on. Like the exit gates, but much quicker to charge up.

    I'd just want it scarier and some more tasks or variations in game to do that both offer diversity, and yet ties in as a viable objective to escaping.

    I would give the player more information. As soon as you logged in it would tell you the estimated queue times for survivor or killer. I prefer getting into games as fast as possible. I don't care if my opponents are strong or weak at their game. Let me in. If one queue is particularly atrocious, give blood points for picking the side no one is playing.

    Emphasize the blood points. Ranks have never really mattered, but if you had a vial that fills up to 32,000 every match display for you, then it overflows if you use blood point offerings and the game tells you how awesome you are, that would be cool.

    Lore - I like the tomes, the whole setup is pretty cool. I never really get into rifts because you can't beat them playing once a week.

    Outfits for shards could be cheaper. There's lots of cool stuff I wanna wear but I don't want to pay out the butt for it. I have all characters and killers unlocked and I play them all. MAYBE if I was limited to one or two survivors and killers I would buy more cosmetics for them but when you're doing a full party roulette cosmetics don't matter as much to me. (Though I will say ever since Minotaur Oni came out, I see more Oni being played. A lot of people obviously like it.)

    Zanshin Tactics and Windows or Opportunity should be baseline, and those perks given a second effect while pallets and windows have more opportunities for survivors and killers to play around them. (unsafe windows and pallets, as the community calls them) You can lose a game just by getting in a chase with survivors that link tiles. Even though a vet knows to drop chase, that will ruin a newbies day. (you want newbies)

    Give score events for skillful plays. A survivor taken down immediately after vaulting a window should have a 'Closed window' score event. Taking one down quickly after a pallet drop should have one. Juking a killer should have one. (lose chase but be in the killers terror radius for five more seconds) Just more in general. Pump up those rookie numbers the grind in this game is huge.

    More bloodpoints = more willingness to spend them = more prestige = more shiny things. It's a no brainer to me but I'm not the ringleader here.

    Only change I would make would be to have ability specific survivors. Ability would replace 2 perks. Survivor abilities could be;

    1. 5% Faster gen repair - mechanic

    2. 2% Faster movement speed - athlete

    3. 5% Faster healer (can self heal) - medic

    4 . Silent vaulter/rush action - Gymnast

    5. 5 % chance that a second hit doesn't put Survivor in dying state - Fighter

    6. Faster hook save / exit gate - Hero

    And so on.....


    Would allow for interesting team builds and other characters might actually get used instead of the usual 4/5

    I would remove the RANKS all together.

    Get rid of Mori and Keys.

    Include a totem counter or candles in the basement that shows how many totems got cleansed.

    Rework DS, that the part you have to hit is like the one from the overcharge perk and it can spin counterclockwise.

    Create an actual anti-camping mechanic, where the timer you hang there, stops going down if the killer is in a certain amount of range to the hooked survivor, excluding when you are the last one obviously, to prevent holding the game hostage.
