Something HAS to be done with this
Okay, so this is most likely gonna either get deleted, or I will get crap for this, but I said I was gonna post about this in my stream...
This is getting out of hand Devs... I was streaming and THIS match alone went on for an hour with ONE gen left and the killer kept going between the gens to hit them with overcharge. Now, I will say sure, the survivors could have disconnected, but we didn't because honestly, we wanted to show this in my stream so I can show you, dev's, that SOMETHING needs to be done with killer holding the game hostage just to be a jerk. I mean everything is MAXED and they won't even kill my friends either. He will down them to go kick the gens again. I mean, it's even like hatch stand offs, I have seen people on twitch stand by that for 2+ hours.
When stuff like this isn't truly dealt with, eventually your game is going to die off... I have played since release and stuff like this is just getting worse and nothing is done about it. If you're going to allow stuff such as this, then there should be a limit to how long one match can be played... maybe add some type of timer for the match, so if it lats longer than 35 minutes, then when the timer runs out, the match disconnects everyone WITH their points. Normally if I'm stuck in a match, I either let them kill me or I will DC... but I wanted this highlight to be seen because yes, this gets beyond annoying.

here is something I don't understand about the video , at 21:47 marker you are reporting this after he hooks and kills you , before the whole not killing anyone even happens . This seems staged to me because how would you know what is going to happen before it actually happens ? I also notice this is a swf game as well , ant the top score was a rank 18 , looks like a farming group , plus at the end they did complete the gens and escape .

I have seen it happen; if developers allow certain things in a game and don't take action with the players who actually cause the game to become less fun ect, then it isn't played as much and then eventually will have under 5k players or die completely. And you know what, Killers throw out demands too, so its not just survivors. There's salt messages all the time from both sides on the Steam forums for DBD...
you would see that we did end up getting that last gen. Yes, I will admit that we screwed up... BUT that doesn't mean that player had to act that way with the last gen. No reason for it at all. It's not like any of us get anything else after everything is maxed. And, they DID try to get downed at one point, as you would see with the random... but the killer REFUSED to hook them.

if you are going to cry on the forums every time your swf group doesnt get an easy win, then you should find another game imo7 -
I recommend running Deja Vu if you find that you're 3 genning yourself a lot.
I watched a bit of the vod and overall here's a tl;dr on your complaint since I believe mods tend to answer this occasionally.
If the killer isn't actively trying to kill you even if you were to walk up to them that could be considered holding the game hostage. If the killer is at least chasing you and primarily focusing on protecting gens that is more so playing the game. Watching a fair bit of the vod I can't confidently say the killer did this to intentionally hold the game hostage at least not at the start all of you were just thirsty for that win and the game went on longer than it should have.
Take that with a grain of salt because that's just a quick summary of what I've seen mods say and I probably butchered it somewhere. If a mod sees your thread they can correct me.
Personally I would have just let the killer sacrifice me so I can peace out of that game I'm not a fan of 15+ minute games.

It's really common knowledge when playing vs a Dr you need to careful which gens you do. Chalk it up to a learning experience.
Gen distribution should be tweaked though here is a video of a game I recently had with every 3gen Drs wet dream. (I still went on a long chase not to be a twat even though the survivors messed up)

All i see is survivor entitlement at it´s best. You say things like "just give it to us", "come chase me over here", "i hope he disconnects", "i´m so teabagging him at the exit" and "totally worth the hour we spend in this match".
While the doctor did the only thing he could do at this point. Defend his gens.
He did NOT keep the game hostage, because he was downing and hooking survivors.
Actually he kept the game as much hostage as YOU did, by playing this way. If you would let him down you and kill you, after maxing the points (which you said several times, that HE should just give up, and give it to you, since he must have maxed everything). There would have been no problem at all.Btw. Making false hostage reports like yours, WILL get you in trouble. You even gave the devs proof of YOUR wrong doing. Because your team even refused to leave the match after doing all gens.

We weren't farming, I just think the gens too close but it was very long game and I have always said that you have to explore where the gens are and if there are ones too close that can be a challenge. It be fair if they weren't too close. I think thats what she trying to say. I'm aware its killer's job to patrol the gens. Why should we dc thats like saying I quit. Well I'm no quitter I stuck it out So to tell someone just dc, thats just ridiculous.

You where playing with your swf buddy, if you ended up letting him 3 gen close by together at the end it's your own damn fault.
You literaly can coordinate with your pal wich gen to do so that you have gen as far apart from each other as possible1 -

Honestly, i wouldnt stay in a match for an hour.
If that happened to me most probably would have enough bps to pip already, meaning that i would just let the killer kill me. How? Just by doing a gen and let the killer grab me, pointing the hook, bleeding out, etc...
If i was the killer i would down and kill the last survivors, yes, but what u said doesn't happen often anyway and most certainly wouldnt come to the forums to complain about it.1 -

I'm going to give you some advice.....
Did you happen to notice that you are given clues from afar as to where generators are at any given time which can give you an overview which are done and which are not? It's true!
On most maps, it's just the light pole. Generators that are not done or are in progress will have flickering lights at the top of the pole. Finished generators the lights are on.
On Haddingfield and Bedam Elementry, every building that has a generator in it will have flickering lights you can spot from the street. The lights will be completely on if the generator is done.
Haven't figured out the cues for Lery's yet, but The Game has closed doors near every generator that's not complete yet.
Using these clues can tell you at a glance what generators are done. And with a little planning ahead, you can prevent this situation without even getting certain perks like Detective's Hunch or Deja Vu involved.
You can also prevent this with a little common sense. Say you complete a generator, so you head to the one next to it, right? WRONG! You skip that generator and head to the one beyond it. You've now isolated an unfinished generator between FINISHED generators - making it less likely you'll have unfinished generators next to each other at the end of the game when the killer has less area to defend.
A little prevention on the part of the survivors can go a long way.
In the end - stopping this is completely in the hands of the survivors. Your team created this situation you are complaining about, you have no right to #########.

All I saw was another obnoxious SWF group with a cringy commentary. You are not entitled to a win. You blame the Doctor for taking the game hostage while you and your group could not hit the Overcharge skillchecks and left the remaining generators in one area.

I understand your pain Gen placements can be kind of Odd and sometimes place too many Gens in one area.
This isn't the killers fault to begin with it is the Dev fault for not putting in a secondary Objective other than Gens.
However this is your teams fault you could of just kept rotating to gens tapping them and moving
hit the greatskill check and keep moving .
or go look for the hidden gen on the other side of the map.
more than 5 Gens spawn in so its not like those were the last 30 -

You'll keep your BP that way too.
Both parties clearly had the desire to win for VERY long, so let them play as much as they want.One will eventually get sick of it and break up the repetition.

There are many other twitch streamers out there who have VODs about survivors runing in circles for ever, abusing all sorts of pallet and window configurations. Everyone can see those vpds. Big whoop?

I watched your video, and honestly as a survivor main let me say I do understand the frustration of having the last three gens so close together, and it being nearly impossible to get one done with the killer patrolling them. I've been there, done that. Yes, it's annoying. But at the end of the day that was your own mistake. The killer didn't force you guys to select the gens you did to repair. You guys should have spaced out the gens you repaired more evenly so you wouldn't be backed into a corner like that when it came to the last one.
Second, you cannot fault the killer for protecting the gens and chasing you guys off them. He wasn't holding the game hostage either. He hooked several of you. He was no fool. He wasn't falling for your obvious attempts to bait him to chase one of you away from the gens for a prolonged time so he'd leave the gens free for two or three of you to hop on and gen rush.
He kept his dignity right to the end when he didn't respond to the vitriol that was thrown at him in the after game chat. Most of you guys got out. And a couple of you even made more blood points than him. You should just take that victory, and the harsh lesson you hopefully all learned about what gens you repair on a map, and move on.

Learn from your mistakes and work on not doing this again. I frequently skip generators and try try to memorize their locations. Some smart killers will purposely herd/let you do the farthest separated gens so they can defend the cluster. Is it cheating, holding the game hostage or toxic? Hell ######### no! It's smart as #########, actual strategic killers are rare and dangerous.
Don't fall into the spiders web and you should avoid this from now on. Unfortunately randoms can still accidentally cause this to happen.Post edited by Oblitiry on3 -
Why didn't any of then search chests for.flashlights or tool box's then all thee work on a single gen doc has to grab one or waste time hitting 6times during which if any had unbreakable they get up keep working and finish the gen then leave its not that hard to counter a situation like that you have to take the hits and ignore the killer you either die or escape not run and hide every 2 second's or have one work as a gen decoy and have the other two on the most hidden gen or hardest to get two0

as stated from everyone else, you guys created this situation yourselves. leaving 3 generators side by side is always a bad idea.
but even with that if you guys were coordinated and can hit a skillcheck, you could have made it out sooner. i don't think you hit a single overcharge skill check which might have helped. at least communicate with each other so you can vacate the gen without hitting madness 3, you know the killer had no intention of chasing you so use it to your advantage. little by little the gens would have gotten done (if you hit the skill checks)
also see it from the killers point of view, there is 1 gen left and all 4 survivors are still alive swarming the last 3 gens. he was probably under a lot of stress and pressure as it was clear he wanted to win but his back was against the wall and had no choice but to play defensive.
lastly your attitude at the end was very hypocritical and toxic, the killer was trying to win the best he can and when it was clear that he could not he gave up, that's when the teabagging and the refusal to leave started. back when he was "holding the game hostage" it wasn't clear who the winner was but when you guys started your antics it was.
I hope you can show a bit more empathy next time....at the very least hit the skillchecks.
