PSYCHO Chapter - thoughts?
Has this idea been discussed before? Doesn't get much more OG horror than Hitchcock's classic.
-Bates Motel map: Strip motel on one side of the map, the iconic house on the other.
-Killer: Kitchen knife wielding Norman Bates, as his tall lanky self or in the Mother costume.
-Survivor: Janet Leigh as Marion Crane (this would put mother and daughter actresses in DBD- as Janet Leigh is Jamie Lee Curtis' mom)
The music could be great, especially the shower scene for a terror radius.
Anyone wanna take stab at killer/survivor perks?

You want a skinny loser guy dressed like his old, dead mother as a killer? It might be frightening in the shower, but I don't think it would hold up in DbD. :) Here he would just be a Cross-Dressing Legion.

I would LOVE a Psycho chapter so much. In terms of non-supernatural (or otherwise non-human) killers, Psycho, The Shining and Us are my top 3 hopefuls.

How would he be much different than Legion, Ghostface, or Michael. Im down for Pyscho but i think it would be better if he comes as a legendary skin for someone.

Don't get me wrong, I think a map that is mostly the Bates Motel, the main house, and property between would be pretty cool. I just don't think another Legion-like guy works. Norman was effective because he murdered people in their hotel rooms and the like, not because he as an killing machine. He was actually pretty wimpy. Now, the Bates Motel, as discussed, with Norman's mother actually risen from the grave to avenge or punish her son (Norman being a new Survivor) that might work.

I hadn't thought it through enough to figure out his powers. But arguably, Ghostface is just a dude in a mask as well.

Non supernatural? The SHINING?
Its heavily implied that Jack wasnt JUST a human. Be it an old soul or possessed by something to do what he did. The pic at the end of him with everyone at the hotel, is from WAY before his time at the hotel, yet hes in the picture. You could argue that it's the location and not the man, but weve seen that his kid has supernatural abilities, and if it WAS the location, it's what warped Jack beyond being just a human.
I'd be super disappointed if they brought in Jack and just made him an M1 huntress.

Additionally, Psycho isn't, in my opinion, transphobic. Norman isn't so much transsexual as he is unwilling to let go of his mother whom he most likely killed because of her abuse.
however
A crossdressing killer running around in the game with absolutely no context may very well alienate transsexual players. Not to mention it wouldn't be scary at all.

This argument is silly to me. Clown literally has a skin that dresses him up as a big purple elephant. Legion has 4 different bunny skins. Heck, Billy has freaking park ranger skins, Yogi Bear style.
Nothing in this game is really scary. At least not to people who have played for a while.

If they can use the music from the movie in the game, especially as chase music, then I say hell yes!

Yes! I feel like the games chase music is already based on the Psycho shower scene... But tbh most horror film scores since have been inspired by it too.
