How are queue times still bad?
You’d think that with the addition of cross play, queue times would shorten, but if anything they’ve gotten longer. How does this work?

If queue times suck across the board and then xplay comes in, wouldn’t it possibly still suck across the board. Not much changed for me there. Killer queue is still really fast and survivor is still kinda slow but might be a bit better?

Because people turned crossplay off? I turned mine off and the wait times on ps4 are way shorter for me than they were when I had it on.

Turn off crossplay. My times improved by an average of 5 minutes.

4 survivors to 1 killer on every platform. Cracks me up that that folks thought the ratio would somehow change with crossplay

On xbox it seems to be worse

Queue times for survivor are tragic, but killers queues are godly. Probably because everyone wants to play with their friends, I'm playing with my friends right now and they're pretty long.

My killer times are instant now. My survivor times are long as #########. NA player.

I'm getting nothing but console players and the times are terrible. (I'm on PC)
10 -15 minutes plus.

Damn, I'm sorry for yall but my times have been almost instant on both sides.

I've been toggling between both options and I noticed turning cross-play off has been a significant Improvement for Survivor queues on PS4.

I was thinking of making a post about this subject.
But personally. I'm on Xbox. I don't wish to play across platforms. So I unX'd the box for crossplay. And I gotta say. Queues for matches are no different than before. Tad quicker maybe but no ling waiting period. Not seeing it personally
Edit: I can't say the same for survivor teammates though. Getting stuck with lower ranks. And I'm doing most (4outta5) of the Gens.

I used to have to wait 10 minutes for killer games to the point I could only play killer at night for a couple hours when the queues were 30 seconds, now they're 10-20sec for the majority of the day. So this has been amazing for a game I actively avoided due to queue times. The fact I can actually play the game now after a year is great.
Survivor queues are a bit longer for me, 5 minutes a bit more. It kind of sucks that one way or another this game is going to have long queues for one side, unless the devs/MMR finds a way to even things out a bit.
I've gotten yellow/green survivors a few games in a row, all from console, when I'm a red rank killer, so that tells me how long the queues must be if they waited that long, though they appeared to be cross continnent a bit.

On PS4 (US-East), we've always had severe lack of killers (especially in high ranks), which caused survivor queue to almost always be long (except possibly during Blood Hunt events and when new killers come out).
But from what I remember, PC community had supposedly the opposite problem, and had excess amount of killers, which was why the crossplay option, despite its own problems, seemed appealing for all parties.
So its a bit disappointing that the reality seems to be that the current crossplay option hasn't helped the survivor queue time much, if at all. I wonder if the PC's killer numbers were exaggerated on the forums, or if PC population actually isn't that big comparative to PS4's population to make that much of a difference.

It's still long for me and the worst part is I am getting rainbow ranks... I'm rank 6 atm and I'm getting urban evading/allergic to gen yellow and brown ranks...

Its rather simple math,
Killer queuetimes pc (fast) + xbox (instant) + ps4 (instant) + switch (instant) = instant
Survivor queuetimes pc (4 minutes ish) + xbox (few minutes ish) + ps4 (few minutes ish) + switch (few minutes ish) = long queue times
Solution buff killers or nerf survivors to try and balance the queue time or just wait it out

It's a good question. Now, for my experience, I used to have 10 minute killer queues easily on PC. Been that way since I bought the game in 2018. Now, I never hit the high ranks because I don't play DbD as my main game, but I bought it to play Myers, Freddy, and the other famous horror icons and really couldn't with those queue times.
Survivor doesn't appeal to me nearly as much, but I played enough to get Claudette to 40 and Bill to 15 or so. Queues were always fast, with the longest being around three minutes.
As of cross-play today, my killer queues have been near instant at all the times I tested it: morming, mid-afternoon, and this evening. So, I got to play killer (finally) at different times today.
Survivor, though, has been longer. It took around 5 minutes earlier today, and I gave up at around 7 minutes tonight (I was just testing the lobby time, so didn't stick it out).
Due to the killer queues since I bought the game in 2018, I haven't played much. If the killer queues stay this way, or at least near this level, DbD will get a lot more of my play time.
