Text Chat for Console soon?
Since cross-play is a thing in Dbd now, why not add text chat for console's so they can see/message pc players back.

Us console killers don't need to hear about how we're trash and that we need to kill ourselves because we camped a guy on the hook after the gates were open

This would be nice if they did add it yes, people could talk in post chat instead of sending one another messages over their respected platform service.

Whats wrong with it? If you dont want it, you could just disable it or close the chat.

As a PC player I feel that your ignorance of what's being said in the post match chat is actually a blessing, but if that's what you really want... i don't see why not.

I mean we already do, all they have to do is message us directly. I'd take salty post game chat over getting spammed with messages & party invites anyday. This doesn't make a difference in that regard, also you can disable it so I don't see how that'd be a problem. Plus it'd be nice to communicate with friends on other platforms.

I agree because it’s kind of pointless to add pc players if you can’t interact with them (especially if you don’t have headphones).

For me the addition of chat to console would be a must to toggle on the crossplay option again (that and server hit validation). The messages I get sent through PS4 messages are overwhelmingly positive, and as I don't have any friends to play with and talk to, I love the post game messaging and hearing that everyone's had a good game, sometimes I have some longer conversations with survivors. It'd feel weird to play a multiplayer game and have absolutely no opportunity to talk to other players and be essentially still alone with no contact opportunities.
And with everyone talking about toxicity and asking with what builds they can make the other side cry, every time I get a friendly message from someone who liked playing the match with me I'm happy to realize there are also other players simply because everyone having fun is so much more satisfying for me than just me having fun and how do I know if they can't say.
As long as the chat can be closed, asking to not bring cross-platform chat because you don't like it is kind of like someone who doesn't want cross play for some reason to demand the complete removal of the crossplay option for everyone and only let people of the same platform play together.
In the end I don't care though, as long as they leave me with the choice to disable crossplay. I'm just a single player of zero importance and noone will miss me in crossplay, so I get it that noone will implement the chat because I miss it.

I don't care about the after game chat but i think the lobby chat should be implemented on consoles.

Nah. Just give us the option of sending a few pre-set phrases. "gg" "wp" "nice tunnel noob" that sorta thing

I'd like there to be a before game and post game chat. I'm not someone who is effected by some salty peeps. But it is nice to be able to tell someone thanks for the save, or GG or something of that nature. Or possibly tell my team what perks I have before the start. Toxicity? Lol I'd just laugh it off and move on. I'm not so weak that I let some anon get under my skin.

I'd be for text chat. And just to let those who are so against console being able to chat to PC, kindly remember that not everyone on console is a toxic arse thanks. Some of us have manners and just want to say GG and compliment the killer/survivors who we played against. The same goes for PC players. Not everyone there is toxic.

What would it matter, console players would have a typing word count of 200 words an hour lol. All we'd get from them is "lol gg ez" and that's if they could remember where the enter key was.

We aren't blessed with an enter key, we have a button to exit keyboard mode and then we have to press something else to send

The fellow console survivors already take the time to message you directly (not often, but sometimes), so I don't need that made easier.

I felt really dumb talking to 4 globe-icon Survivors and thinking they were ignoring me, cause of course they just can't.
Really wouldn't mind letting them at least be able to chat.

I almost always send a gg to the killer after match. Im on xbox. Now i cant unless i want to friend request them. I dont want to be their friend. I just want to say gg. So i would absolutely love post game chat

I honestly wouldn't care one way or the other if they add post-game chat to console, but we NEED the pre-game chat so we can actually talk to our party members on other platforms.

It should be enabled, if you don't want to use it, disable it. Just like everyone here is telling people who complain about cross play to disable it. Its a bit hypocritical to say we shouldn't have end game chat because some people don't want it
