am I the only person?

Ok so new ish to the game (console) so I love to play for fun, I dont run DS, BT or unbreakable.... is it because im only purple ranks or is it because i really just dont like these perks im not sure. I always run kindred, dark sense, spine chill and urban evasion.

I play with like 3 survivors that I have upto rank 50.

I just find the game easier to play when I know where people are and where the killer is.

So any tips from killer mains out there as I do want to get better at the game but in no way do I want to be seen as a "sweaty survivor" "tryhard" or my favorite "potato" (honey potatos are delicous.... tell me im wrong 🤣)

Sound is everything, Iron will is great for negating it. Learn to loop as well. Try not to become reliant on perks.

Thank you, i do try to loop as much as possible but I find myself doing the obvious..... running into walls or getting stuck on something 🤣🤣🤣 i know im not the best at the game but I do really enjoy it. I play killer a little but found myself playing less and less of killer once I started getting spammed with messages and party invites from SWF rainbow groups who i managed to down or kill.... they don't seem to like that

Listen, sound can tell you so much in this game. The Terror Radius even helps Survivor out as the louder it is, generally, the closer a Killer is.

Dont Stand still but don't run either. Unless you are being chased, you should never run or vault or drop a pallet. It gives the Killer clues of where you are. Whether a sound que or a trail of scratch marks.

Juke and dodge. Never run in a straight line. The number of times Ive gotten a survivor cause they went straight is insane.

Dont be a dick with the flashlight. Most Killers hate it. Its annoying. If youve dropped a pallet... Just get out. Run a ways then drop to a crouch if the killer is far enough a way. Leaves a scratch trail for us to follow until you drop and sneak away. Takes a few seconds for us Killers to break a pallet.

Above all remember... Not every Killer is a complete ass.

This has been advice from your friendly neighborhood Killer Main.

Don´t let others influence your choice of setups too much, you will propably get called any name in the book regardless.

Maybe expand your available perks, experiment with them and see what you like, since that´s what should matter more.

The best build I've found for myself is Spine Chill, Lithe, Kindred, and I swap out BT and Self Care depending on if I'm solo or swf.

Spine Chill gives me enough information for evasion.

Lithe gives me the distance I need in the beginning of a chase and comes in clutch late game for getting out the gate cause of the haste and making the killer have to vault or go around an obstacle to catch up.

Kindred for all the information it provides.

BT when playing swf so I can make more unsafe unhooks and can communicate with my team why I'm doing it or letting them know they can take the protection hit.

Self Care for solo since I can never really trust my teammates to heal me, especially how often I get hook farmed it teammates seem to miss skill checks in solo queue.

This works for me as a combo of chase and immersed build. I hate having to rely on the 2nd chance meta so I've adapted to play without it and if I get tunneled I just move on to my next match and try to not get spun.

Thank You! I dont touch flashlights, I search a chest and one of those bad boys are in there I leave them there 🤣🤣 i have used them a few times for challanges I needed to do but that stuff is hard, so I dropped a pallet and did it while they were breaking it. I have managed to get to rank 5 with 4 pips.....sooo close to red ranks and then rank reset.... back to rank 9 lol

Generally speaking. Im open to helping with challenges. Ill even sometimes try to farm my own or if its a particularly annoying challenge, I will reach out to the survivors to exchange challenge aid.

One was on a killer i really dont use much(I primarily play PH/Death) and I reached out to help. Turns out the survivor needed help with a heal challenge. Win win.

Toxicity only exists if we as players let it. Thats my follow up ^^ and an example of "not every killer is an ass"

You should absolutely be running when you're not in a chase. Every second you're not doing the objective is helping the killer, so you should be running whenever feasible. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful while doing it, but do it. You can avoid running next to inward-facing walls (scratch marks are easy to see on those from far away), check your surroundings for the killer as you're running, and use your HUD wisely; if you see the obsession claws wiggling or a survivor lose a health state, the killer is very likely busy and is not likely to drop chase to check out some scratch marks halfway across the map. You may wish to be a little more careful against stealth killers, but you should still be running a lot throughout the game.

There are just so many detection perks nowadays that it's not really feasible to rely on stealth to win. Walking around the map doesn't do much for you when the killer is likely to find you with with BBQ, Infectious, etc. regardless, but getting on gens as quickly as you can will almost always help you out.

I get more survivors who run then survivors who stealth. This advice came from my experience rather then from the games perks. And was meant more for the start of the match rather then the mid to late game once chases start.

Information perks are awesome, but three of them is a little overkill. I personally always run Kindred (essential as a solo player, IMO), and Spine Chill is an excellent perk to prevent ambushes.

Your playstyle seems to be very much stealth at all costs, which is punishing you when you do get into chases. I'd suggest swapping out Dark Sense for Lithe, as that will help you escape chases and get back to stealthy play as soon as possible, as well as giving you a buffer of a few seconds at the start of the speed boost to look for a safer place to loop/hide instead of panicking and running into walls/corners.

The last perk would depend on how you typically play besides stealth/immersion. If you're altruistic and like to go for hook saves, Borrowed Time is excellent; if not, try a second-chance perk such as Decisive Strike (which you'll almost always get use out of, especially with the rise of tunnelling cross-play seems to be bringing). Urban Evasion just isn't too useful these days beyond memeing Neas.

    Just my $0.02

I Dispise OoO... only reason I do is 90% of the games im the obsession (why you so obsessed with me...🤣🤣 kill me now) I dont really fancy giving a killer a free kill and letting my team mates down. I only throw pallets when I really do need to, I go for saves when it's safe and so on. I feel im good at the game BUT no where near as good as some of the people out they. Alot of people say just keep playing, you will get better but i guess it never hurts to pick the brains of some of the better players out there

Advice Is always welcome from someone who has played longer than me, thank you. I shall take everyone's suggestions on board and try to mix it up a little in tonight's games 😁

Survivors who use stealth usually do get found last, agreed, but that doesn't mean it's a good strategy. If you're not moving quickly between gens you'll find yourself looking for hatch with 3 gens left every time because you didn't help your team enough during the match.

I agree that being more careful at the start of the match makes sense, but I still think it's a fine idea to run. If you just get right on a gen the killer is probably going to spawn far enough away that your scratch marks will be gone before they show up. Plus, ~75% of the time you won't get chased first and you'll wish you had gotten to a key gen quickly and maximized your progress on it.

The first chase is massively important to the outcome of the game, though, so if you can't run the killer well that would be a fair enough reason to be more cautious.

I tend to try and get into the middle of the map at the beginning and get that Gen done as most people tend to skirt the edge and i know killers know we do that. I do tend to run around the map alot moving from gen to gen and try to not get us in a 3 gen situation as I know once that happens it csn be game over very quickly

Awesome, that's exactly what I like to see in teammates! I try to do the same - I try to go for gens early that I know will be problematic later. Especially if you typically run Spine Chill you're well kitted for getting central gens out of the way.

As for getting better, the best advice I can give you is to play killer too if you don't yet. Playing killer helps you learn which jukes and mind games are effective, how to run certain tiles well, exactly what is possible with the various killer powers, etc.
