After nearly two years of waiting, THE ALCHEMIST is finally about to arrive!
The new killer teaser just came out and I've seen some comments speculating about what will it be. Many said "Werewolf". Others said "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde". But anyone who's waiting for him since last year (or since 2018, in my case) knows he is The Alchemist, who appeared first in the cinematics for the 2018 Hallowed Blight event and then, in 2019's Withering Blight, received the most awesome cinematic this game has until now, were he injects the Putrid Serum into himself.
Okay, that doesn't mean he won't be a werewolf but I doubt it. Putrid serum turning a guy into a wolfman wouldn't make any sense. He must be, on his base outfit, something as horrifying as the other killers are in their special halloween skins, since they got injected with the serum too. The coolest thing: It was HIM who injected it! During the Hallowed Blight, he captured the Trapper, chained him to a wall and injected the serum.
There is a possibility he has a few things based on modern adaptations of Dr Jekyll, since he is transformed by the serum he injected, but the characters, as respectively shown in the Hallowed Blight's story and the famous novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, are completely different.
I'm waiting with excitement and hoping he is a good killer and very fun to play. After such a long time being teased, he needs a worthy release.

I would surprised they bring back the Alchemist hence they totally forgot seasonal events even existed.
A DbD Jekyll like sounds like a nice theory.

Thanks for the heads up on the trailer. I would guess Werewolf as well since he appears to be in a painful transformation.

Did they really, tho? Because even though the Withering Blight didn't have special objectives like the Hallowed Blight, it was still an event. AND it was when the name The Alchemist was revealed. That event pretty much confirmed the character he had a killer name and would be a character in the game. And it was last october. Notice where this is going?
Also, even the color of the teaser resemble the halloween events' cinematics. It is obviously the Alchemist.

I don't see why it can't be both. The alchemists serum turns him into the werewolf.

I just don't think it would make sense for the Putrid Serum to turn a man into a wolf-like creature. All the killers took bizarre, even more monstrous appearances (Hallowed Blight and Withering Blight event outfits) after receiving the serum, but none of them looked like an animal.

I thought data mining indicated this chapter was going to be Licensed due to things needing to be purchased with Auric Cells not shards?

I think that while it may not necessarily be a wolfman, it could be beastlike in some way. From the shadow those protrusions on his back look like they could be part of a transformation into some sort of entity-beast.

I honestly can't believe how many people think it's a werewolf, the silhouette is exactly the same as the alchemist, you can hear him injecting himself at the start, the entire scene is lit with a gold glow like the blight, and the description; "something is festering in the fog." is clearly referring to the blight.

New data mining showed it was false. It's an original after all

Thanks, I never totally buy into that but I try to keep a casual eye on leaks

Plus the Alchemist in time for another Putrid event makes sense.

I feel ya

Maybe.
The colors in the video tell my instincts to not say that's the case though.
I'd expect that yellow-orange vibe.
I don't mind being wrong, just no for now.

Huntress did grow some real fur on her body if you look at her Hallowed Blight cosmetic so it could be possible that the Alchemist gets some too. I don’t think it would be a full monster transformation though. Just a giant, partially mutated guy in a cloak with some massive claws as a weapon. Maybe he’ll grow some entity-like appendages out of his back that drip serum.

Thats true, but I also can't see how them using the wolf man trope of transformation, giving him hairy arms and what is possibly a doglike head can't mean wolf man y'know? I mean its definitely the alchemist, like 100%. But I could absolutely see them making him a wolfman.

Alchemist was my first thought too

Fun idea here. If it is a Dr.Jekyl Mr. Heid sort of thing. Mr. Heid untransformed could be the survivor and dr.jekyl could be killer. Just an interesting thought I doubt I'm right but I think it would be pretty cool.

You’ve been waiting 2 years? Huh

I think you're right about the killer being from The Blight event. I doubt, he's turning into a werewolf. That's too basic. I think the serum gave him this special ability.
The guy in the teaser is wearing the same exact outfit as the event.
And in the cut scene below, time stamp 0:49 sec. You could see the entity to grabbing for him and he gave in.

wait already, i didn't even buy the silent dlc lol

wouldn't mind a werwolf like creature but with blight, but yea 100% sure it's him/her

Highly recommend PH! Absolutely BA killer fun to play strong power once you learn the ins and outs of it. Cheryl Mason has a couple decent perks too.

Blight turned killers into more "beastlike" version of themselves, I wonder how it would affect a survivor if we consider every killer as "non human" since they're empowered by the entity.

Awww, now that you mention it, the glass breaking does point to some sort of scientist or alchemist. Not that it's a bad thing, I love the story of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. I just thought I seen feathers. I want a Moth Man, lmao.

Hmm, this seems more like Doc. Jkyell and Mr. Hyde right?

I actuallly believe this would be interesting, but separate by moments in time. The alchemist would be the killer, and his character before becoming it would be the survivor. This could be possible because the realm of the Entity is timeless.
