cross play voice chat
can we get a voice chat so people can talk from ps4 and pc and xbox ect only in a SWF so that you can talk with your friends their is no teamspeak discord ect on ps4/xbox .so you need to use a phone or ipad needing to use another headset to talk to your friends and hear party chat and game audio so could we add something like that?

He doesn’t have any friends :(

BHVR will get a lot of crap from the killer community.
Voice comms is already a touchy subject, you'll just have to join in Voice Chats on your own.
That will be your responsibility.

i stated its only in a swf so you already are friends with your that teammate if your not in a swf so for example your duo que you and your swf teammate are the only one who hear each other i am a killer main but i don't really a problem with a swf sure its strong but if i want to win i will just use freddy or spirit if i want to win that badly.

They honestly should have made voice chat available. It makes no sense to have a successful swf but not have it as a feature for a game that has cross platform but only audio solely on each individually. Like right now I'm playing with friends and only one has xbox do we're having to keep it open for them audio wise on the TV just so they can hear everyone in the next room effectively.

they already get alot of crap. voice comms are a thing. not putting in the game puts solos at a disadvantage, and they cant balance around it. frankly its absurd they have put it off this long. my pie in the sky would be voice coms with proximity chat but really they need to add it and buff killers accordingly.

trying to avoid SWF to communicate in this technological era is inevitable... so DBD should include whether distance-based (voice chat) or regular voice chat, both options to mute/unmute anyone and see how did pressing TAB, devs are just too lazy or incompetent

exactly this. there is no way to stop a well organized team from using it. it should be baseline in the game. i would love proximity chat but we shall see. however it needs to be implemented so they can finally balance around the SWF

Im a high rank killer and im fine with in game chat for survivors. You can REALLY tell the difference between a team using chat and a random team. Its extremely easy to beat a random team, and when they're talking is the only time they have a chance to all escape. If they're worried about immersion that would be a good chance for a proximity chat, even if it has a long distance to it. Especially if it went to killer too. You could eavesdrop on survivors making plans and then scare the crap out of them when you pop around the corner with undetectable saying "good plan" while revving a chainsaw. Adds a whole new level of psychological warfare. Just as long as the community doesn't turn toxic. I could see an in game proximity chat being very fun and balanced, especially if they added perks that increase chat range or make it where the killer can't hear you. Just my 2 cents on the subject. As an indie game developer myself, I would love to play around with the balancing of that feature.

I LOVE the Idea of having Perks to increase the radius or other thinks like that.

Yes please swf crossplay voice chat

they wont add it but if they did they have to give it to all survivors and buff killers.

Are the devs for or against comms? Because I remember them saying it’s not considered cheating and is allowed, if I’m not mistaken they themselves also use it but then they are against adding voice chat in game? Doesn’t make sense lol.

if their where be a perk to increase chat range would be cool but it makes the perks useless when you have discord skype ect.
1 -
Right, obviously there's no way to stop discord chat and stuff like that, BUT if you add an official chat option in game AND make it known that, while unenforceable, discord servers are considered cheating, the more ethical groups will chat through the in game chat.

Also, that's why i suggested making the chat mods its own "offering" style spot. If you're using the chat, great. If not, you just leave it blank.

IDK how having cross plat voice chat. There are plenty of games that have open voice chat (that you can of course turn off) and the amount of toxicity that comes from not just PC but console gamers too is just extraordinarily unnecessary. I used to be a console player for different games and the "competitive" scene is just full of people who act like this is their life(not saying that pc is any easier). That's just my take.

Suuuure!!! why not, Voice chat cross-play so you can win more easily like get a free boosting, or something like a LEGAL cheat.

So your friends will do all the work for let you winning ez.

I like the idea of it but it would be over powered. As someone who plays on PlayStation all i would want is a post game chat for console and crossplay just because i dont like the fact that i cant communicate to people on PC or on other consoles

lol boosting in dbd its not cheating but i know right its clearly cheating i am so sorry for even bringing it up.

i don't know man.

i understand but thats what you want alot of people would love this i mean sure killers are gonna hate it but it would make survivors more free to talk to teammates but only in an swf.
0 -
agree but i think it would be beter for only swf so their is less to no toxicity but an endgame chat would be nice right now its pc that can use the chat if console could use that would mean alot to the console side.
