Devs now that we have crossplay will you be hosting your own bhvr tournaments with unique skins for
Just a idea I mean it would be fun being able to host one now that all platforms can play with a unique skin reward for the winner like if they win as a certain survivor that survivor could then have a mark or logo that they won same for the killer that wins they could have there own unique weapon or skin

Hopefully not. Exclusive cosmetics are a plague that prey on FOMO. Also they said no more exclusives thank god.
3 -
Oh damn lol woulda been fun and what's fomo?
0 -
Also I ment it as if a person won a tournament then why not or at least let them design a skin for everyone to have for free like once a year they host the tournament for the players to win a chance to help design two skins after earning it
0 -
'Fear of missing out' its the same idea used for battle passes. "Yes we know you have lots of other games to play but you only have 60 days to grind our battle pass for that one cosmetic you really wanted that we wont let you just buy".
Its used to keep player numbers up in the long term.
Its an awful system that battle passes popularised. Its similar to exclusive pre order dlc.
I do really like the idea of designing the cosmetics but we kind of already have that. Though I really like all the fan made ones so far so I'd be up to it.

you guys really live for skins. it could have been money, auric cells, trying out the DLC before everybody else, but no. Skins.
1 -
Im assuming this person was not around for the last tourny yeah i don't think behavior wants to embarrass themselves that bad again.
2 -
Ikr I mean it could easily be a entire chapter long event like 3-4months to be fair and would be free so people play and have a 1 in how many play chance for it and could be done 2 times a year one for killers one for survivors
0 -
Well money would just make people try hard for a small amount cells would be spent on skins and the ptb exists to let pc player's test out the new chapter before it is out sooooo yer a free skin custom made by the winners of a survivor and killer tournament which is free to enter and only for fun makes sense
0 -
You mean the infamous people that decided to play ultra try hard to show how unbalenced it can be at times or did I miss another one
0 -
More like the one where basically the whole chat was filled with people memeing the actual crap out of the host and the developers at the same time so bad that an actual dev had to step in to commentate but the chat still memed the actual crap out of them added onto it yeah i highly doubt it'll happen ever again tbh dbd is not a tourny style game.
0 -
And to quote the person above you cells money and somehow letting a console player test out the ptb would create the FOMO mindset
0 -
what happen last time?
0 -
Wow wait so instead of trying to help a asymmetric game to show they can be viable in eSports people decided to troll and ruin it the jerks
0 -
Pretty much an actual dumpster fire happened it was not a good tourny at all.
0 -
Lol the posted just as you did but apparently the spectators in chat went hardcore trolling and ruined it for the real fans wanting to see how this goes as a tournament
0 -
It was rough man i remember shortly after that they cut ties real fast with space esports.
0 -
Then why not make there own brand to help asymmetric games show they are viable and I am sure all platforms would be willing to put money into hosting it
0 -
And that itself seems like the eSports people screwed up and did not even try to keep out the spam
0 -
The issue with this is asymmetrical games aren't viable for tourny's there's to much RNG to take into account thats the biggest reason the tourny failed and why the chat quickly turned on the host and the dev's it just was an absolutely snorefest of a tourny it also showed the biggest flaw's in the game which is how bad gen speed and camping really are i highly doubt behavior is gonna risk it im all for more skins but i don't think this is what they want to do.
1 -
Oh no they tried their mods were putting in work but its hard when the entire chat is pretty much turning against you also there's more to the story that caused people to get upset if im correct there was a certain comment made by the host that really got under peoples skin.

Maby but nowadays there are fans of the game and who cares what others think the only ones that would matter is A it's a great way to show the Devs in a live setting area what needs work and refining B in the beginning maby but nowadays the game's can be fast past and can even become epic fast-paced or hilarious moments and with the winners getting to design a skin for there fave survivor or killer would be a fun incentive and just have it noted that any harassment would have the viewers banned
0 -
Aslo can you clarify rng?
0 -
Here is a recap of it
0 -
Wait dbd or eSports host
0 -
Both behavior mods and the host mods were timing and banning people it just was that bad i posted a recap up ^ there somewhere he kinda dives into what exactly went wrong.

You can get a bloodlodge with no pallets and one thats pallets city. This is the problem with rng maps even though its fun to learn the map as you play. But because of this rng it can cause you to lose
2 -
There are situations take trapper's bear trap right either the survivor stays in the trap or the survivor instantly escapes that's rng a random number generated right there's are some bigger aspects of rng in dbd that's why its nearly impossible to design a tournament around it.
0 -
I can't remember if it was the official one but there was a pretty bad one where one of the teams killers was pretty blatantly throttling connection to win (before dedicated servers and hatch close). And very unclear rules. One player got essentially robbed of winning the whole thing because the organisers hadn't settled on proper rules and told him he'd lost after the fact.
0 -
I with you on this.
0 -
Maby but that's why it's so fun and sure but certain rules could be implemented like if a survivor is shown making more then 3 attempts to escape a trap then it won't count if there slugged or hooked but if it's a instant escape then it would.
Also no more hatch standoffs so that can speed up the game and as I said we know what things are rng based right so you take into accordance for them you learn from your mistakes back then the game was in no shape for
0 -
And yet they definitely need to have clear and monitored rules if people start blatantly cheating like that then they need to be removed and stuff and they could implement rules of conduct and what perks are ok and not ok same as add-ons and stuff.

found this youtube vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZX0ZtJtyUM this explains what happened
0 -
I mean nowdays we could host a better one with better rules and have the scoring and stuff based around skills in game killers it's a simple kills Vs escapes and in the case of pyramid head sacrifices Vs escapes or mini Mori performed
0 -
And since we can now add pc player's as friends it's much easier and fairer to monitor as they can be added into a custom game meaning it's way easier to avoid map rng and base the scoring on a predetermined map that's fair to both sides

Wow, I forgot how obnoxious and annoying Tyde was. Faced him several times. He was not very good, but loved to cry and whine with the best of them.
Ok, that aside, DbD tournaments do not work well for serious competition. There is way too many factors that can completely ruin the validity or veracity of the outcome. The only ones that really work are the laid back, kinda meme-like ones. The charity tournament a while back where so many streamers were basically meme'ing around and sandbagging each other as survivor is a good example.
There is not enough balance in this game to bring it to a true tournament. There are plenty of fan tournaments, but each has to have a very restrictive set of rules that often breaks the validity of the outcome. Such as the one posted above, no perks....yeah, that does not work. I've seen random killer random survivor perks. I've seen all kinds, and the RNG and huge bug issues always muddy the outcome.
That is why so many feel that DbD is more of a casual party game than a serious competitive game.
1 -
I see you're point there then as I've said instead of money or cells or anything exclusive why not just let the winner design a skin but one rule u would put to be fair survivors cannot just run same character
0 -
Tournaments still happen. There's a rapidly growing competitive scene for DbD. We just have to be very selective with perk allowances and map choices. Every tournament or league has different rules. OoO is commonly banned for instance. No more than 2 of any perk for survivors is a common one. Add ons up to a certain color for killers. No Haddonfield, Ormond, etc

- I don't want someone who just happens to be good at the game to design a skin. I'd rather someone with an artistic mind to do it. How about a skin design tournament? lol People submit designs and players vote. Much better.
- You stepped in it: The first rule is survivors can't pick the same characters. Well, how about the killers can't pick the same killer twice in a row? See, by starting the first rule, you get a snowball of other rules. It becomes hard to legitimately deny the points made by both sides. Some killer things are OP, some survivor things are OP....pure headache and it can't be balanced as it is now.
I think the best way to put together a tourney is to go outside the box and embrace the lack of balance as well as the meme-play. Give points for a good sand bag. Points for multiple hooks, points for losing a killer, point bonuses for playing with a meme build or weaker killer (Burger King Meyers anyone?! Points bonanza!) I really think it would require a lot of ideas and a broad definition of how to earn points. The rewards would have to be as meme-ready as the tourney itself. A Clown plushie for 5th place (who doesn't want a cute stuffed animal of a murderous obese clown who releases the cough of death when you push his maggot-filled tummy?), etc.

Omg that itself sounds like so much fun and yer true never thought this though and all I ment was they could be the same in a different round but you cannot have squads sign up and all be blenndets
1 -
See I would love to enter these but nearly all of them require using different stuff then the forum's signup
0 -
Many they should let you create a meme and fun tournament here on the forum's I mean if we cannot make the game into a serious eSports then why not enter the fun area of them that way as it becomes easier and better defined it can be upgraded to more serious
