I've had to quit playing console recently because if I have a major fps drop my game will freeze and DC me on PS4 , I play on PC more so it's really not a problem but it feels bad for people with that as their only option to have to deal with that and they just want to cross play and have quick games , I know it's not everyone on PS4 but there are quite a few people I play with there that are having issues getting kicked or just freezing in place in game and then ending up downed when it unfreezes or vaulting a window running away getting downed out of nowhere and being sucked across the map back to the window, there's alot of wonky stuff going on right now I'd say some people may be DC but I'd say a good majority of them are having issues

Well the problem is the killer like myself, and I may be going out on a limb here, that think a first hit DC is dumb, don't DC just because a gen (or three simultaneously) gets done.

The ones that DC are too ashamed (or atleastshould be) to voice their discontent since they would just be hypocrites.

The game gets harder/the map smaller the more gens pop so the killer gets pressure more easily. (Just as a thought for those)

In an ironic twist, 3 games in a row I got DC'd the first time I downed someone. I've learned that some DC's are maybe not as salty as one might assume. Although I also don't get the "I rage quit" tone whenever someone DC's any more and I don't know why.

How about the one who disconnects to avoid hook then waits til end game chat to act like everything's cool and this is some kind of acceptable strategy? I wish this were bannable, ######### these people.

I don't see this on hits as much as I do immediate DC on hooks. Doesn't it hurt rank and count as a loss anyway?

On another group I am in someone posted they DC if they go down quick because it is an indication of how the match is going to be. To my ears that sounds like a sore loser or someone afraid of a challenege. I told that person that just because you get downed first doesn't mean you will get caught a second time. And surely dcing when it happens means you will never improve in the game.

Usually because I didn't notice who the Killer was yet. I DC right off the bat if it's Legion or Spirit. Not anything about going down fast. We usually screw around to much to even care when or if we go down. It's just it'll happen so fast at beginning of match and I go down and realize...Oh it's that Killer... Later xD Call it what you want.

I had a game earlier today where Doctor Spawned literally looking right at me in the distance, literally as the camera was spinning we could see eachi other, ######### was that. I didn't DC but I can imagine ######### like causing people to.

Was it on Haddonfield by any chance? cause that happened me on Haddonfield earlier today but I was the killer.

huh so guess its not just a map specific spawning issue like I thought

Happened to me once. Also happened when I was hooking someone.

Except... if you went down in 10 seconds that’s 100% your fault where as a gen across the map against a 110 killer is objectively not as much their fault.

but killers shouldn’t be so concerned with a single gen being done in 60 seconds. This game isn’t about stopping all gens just as much as it’s not about 1v1. Survivors that DC when they go down somehow think they never should have gone down. This game is about wasting the killers time as the survivor. Ok you waisted 10 seconds. You get two more attempts.

There is nothing toxic about it. If someone goes down within 20-30 seconds it IS because they are bad at the game. There is no moral judgement here, it doesn't mean they're bad people. Just stating a fact. Don't be so sensitive.

I have, actually. I'm not that type of person. I had really high ping and when I got hit, I couldn't move. I was like, "######### is this?" And then I got kicked.

Why are you insinuating with an unrelated topic? Shall I do the same? Would be like this: So you think it is ok when killers DC after a 60 sec gen pop?

The topic is that DCing for whiny reasons is bad for 4 other players. And it didn't happen just once that I got down within 10 seconds but made it out of the exit gate. When there is a baby DC after 10 seconds, it is pretty unlikely that anyone gets out of an exit gate. Maybe reflecting about how this could happen would be the better choice than just "done, throw it, next".

  • Deadeye
    Deadeye Member Posts: 3,627

Not impossible, but a very unlikely coincidence. When you see this happen every third match, it is more likely on purpose

  • BabyDweetMain
    BabyDweetMain Member Posts: 434

Get over yourself. This superiority complex is what's wrong with the game. Y'all think if someone makes a common mistake then they're bad. Who are you to judge someone you've only just met? I've been screwed over many times in the beginning of the game. I've been glitched in place, I've been sandbaged, I've been screwed by haunted grounds while I was in a chase. I still survive each match and get max bloodpoints but I guess I'm bad too cause I happen to go down early due to just bad luck.

  • MotherOfRaccoons
    MotherOfRaccoons Member Posts: 38

Jesus, calm down man. That's the exactly what I'm talking about. Saying that someone is bad as the game is not saying he or she is a bad person, a loser or anything like that. So don't take it so personally. I guess it's more accurate to say "if someone goes down in 15 seconds, he's bad at the game or very unlucky". But it makes no difference.

Why do people take it as an offense when someone says they're playing bad? It has nothing to do with your personal qualities. Again, stop being too sensitive.

  • BabyDweetMain
    BabyDweetMain Member Posts: 434

    "Jesus calm down man"

    "You're being so sensitive"

Oh you're not? Make it make sense. Also it is personal against someone by calling them bad. You are not in any position to judge someone. Who are you? That is what I'm talking about. Thinking you're better than someone so you can call them bad. There's literally no reason to be calling someone bad other than to be a dick, which you probably like to do by the sound of it. You're contributing to this toxic elitest mindset so many scummy people have in this community. If you don't see how you're the problem, you're too far gone.

"Youre ######### at the game, but don't be upset I called you that or else you're being too sensitive and youre taking it personally."

  • IamDwight
    IamDwight Member Posts: 236

Just avoid doing the gen you spawn directly next to. 99% of games I've played, the killer goes straight to that gen at the start anyways.

  • MotherOfRaccoons
    MotherOfRaccoons Member Posts: 38

I'm not talking about telling someone "ur so bad go #########". Of course that's personal. I'm talking about stating that someone who goes down from healthy to dying is probably bad at the game. If you saw me playing football, you would immediately come to the conclusion that I suck at it. If you said it aloud, that wouldn't be an insult, it would be a fact. Same in the game.

As for "there is no reason to call someone bad", yeah there is. How about someone plays bad, after game you tell them they played badly, and offer a few friendly tips? I do that occasionally, and I received some friendly tips myself back when I was new.

Problem is, some people take even the slightest criticism so personally, that they're unable to make use of an advice. This kind of mindset is the biggest issue with the game: people who can't admit they made mistakes, and immediately jump to accuse the other side of playing unfair, start blaming the game, claiming that something is "broken" or "OP". Anything to avoid owning their mistakes.

This kind of oversensitive mindset is the reason why people keep crying for nerfs, buffs, changes and so on. Also the main reason for DC. The whole game would be a lot more chill environment, if players just admitted they're bad, kept their cool and continued playing. I'm not saying rub it in their faces after a game. But it's still a fact. And the best way to fix it is everyone taking a deep breath, calm down, and stop being so sensitive. It's just a game. No shame in being bad at it.

Yesterday i dc from a game for my second time.

A Claudette that stopped doing gens with me to go body block a friend of mine in a chase. After that she was looping the killer next to him till he got to second stage.

Why waste my time with a guy that should be playing single player games? Blocked him and moved on to the next game.

being dead honest, I play DBD on a laptop and sometimes this does happen. If it's like a Huntress with Thanataphobia, and her hatchets have both exhaustion and mangled add ons, that hit pops 3 status effects on the screen all at the same time, sometimes that causes me to freeze for a few seconds or get disconnected completely

Usually, its when I have less than 3 WGLF stacks, Im denying your BBQ stack. The majority of killers are not nice, they are sweaty 4k chasers, so I dont feel like being nice, too. ;P

You say that, but if killers disconnected every time a generator went off quickly, you'd never finish a game.

And besides, going down isn't an inevitable death. That's silly.

You're just wrong. Like I don't understand how you can't see it. Perfect example, I've been playing this game for years. I get 4ks on killer all the time and I escape all the time as survivor. The other day I got downed pretty quickly at the start cause I started, unluckily, next to a leatherface and was shown no mercy. By your terrible incorrect logic, I'm bad at the game and everyone has the right to tell me that.

No. I'm not bad and neither are many people who play this game. Sometimes things are just out of your control. You can offer tips, I do it to low ranks a lot. But I'm ######### nice about it and don't tell them they're bad at the game. That toxic communication will make them not want to play the game. I compliment them on things they're doing right. It doesn't inspire anyone to hear that they ######### suck. Like what if someone was already hsving a ######### day and the first thing they read after the match is how bad they are?

Learn how to talk to people and stop with that "eVeRyOnEs A sNoWfLaKe" #########. You're literally scrambling trying to defend calling people bad yet everyone else is sensitive? I'd rather be sensitive than have ######### people skills and be ignorant of others feelings.

some newer survivors leaving quickly would make my recently horrible experiences better both without them as potential teammates and competing for tunnelslutt spots in ten minute survivor queues. it's the people willing to be killers you don't wanna run off right now. since that'll only make my queues even longer as survivor and I don't have fun most of the time as killer (except the first night of matches after crossplay that ran out since it ranks you too quickly and doesn't let me derank killers for some reason no matter how many times in a row I afk at 0 pips).
