Official Stream Format

Member Posts: 1,972

I don't like this experience. Not interested in watching or listening to Fog Whisperers play and talk. Keep the official streams about new content dedicated to that. This bloat isn't interesting at all. If you want to promote them, dedicate a separate stream for that. Super boring stream so I will await the summary for the real info.

...but we already know the new content. This was supposed to be primarily a FW event

Although, it's quite interesting event seeing everyone play competitive with one another. The wild card is unique. However, as you said I'm more interested in hearing from some of the devs. And I tried looking at the schedule but it's not set in stone.

    Agreed. That's so boring.

Here's the part I was only interested in: learn more about the graphical update, cross-play and the upcoming chapter. I was hoping for some insight and maybe even some PS5 and XSX info.

I think it's because so many asked what the point of Fog Whisperers are so now they're trying to include them more in official streams.

Oh tell me about the biased views. I did watch Twitch. I'm not just someone saying what I am with never giving Twitch a shot. I did for over a year as both a curiosity and research as an author for a book I eventually plan to write, where a part of the 2042 setting is streaming being completely mainstream and much more integrated into everyday entertainment. So, I plugged into the Streamer community pretty decently, from the small guys to the big ones like Tim and DisRespect. Had several off-stream conversations with them about the industry, as well.

That said, be it DbD, Overwatch, or what have you, the big boys are most definitely biased in many ways. And the whole thing, as well as seeing enough of the "trolling for entertainment," just turned me off of sticking with watching Twitch after my research was done. Not to mention, if I need to watch something for tips or tricks or general knowledge, there are more then enough YouTube videos where I can skip the fluff and get to what I need to view.

Speaking of watching streamers play on that stream, Pig buff when?

This stream is not a traditional developer stream; it was promoted primarily as a fun event showcasing the Fog Whisperers, as the information thrown in between groups is about things we already know about, such as all the new chapter info that you can find here as well as live on the PTB:

I dunno, I enjoyed it. It was something a little different and it introduced me to some new streamers I wasn’t familiar with before. They were pretty clear what it was going to be about beforehand.

I've been listening/watching to it while doing some work and it's fun. :) I like Tofu and Otz doing commentary.

Thanks for the info. I guess when I read the "learn more" I thought they meant more info, as in things they haven't already discussed. I'm glad this isn't the normal format. The FW were boring to watch.

other than the EU bracket its been nothing but survivor mains playing by the survivor rule book. Incredibly boring matches where the killer isnt even trying and all the gens get popped instantly.

  • Member Posts: 1,457

Some of the players you probably watch barely had killer experience. Beside, everyone was just having fun.

I get that, but there was a severe difference in game play when you looked at the EU matches vs the NA matches.

Its really embarrassing and boring to watch every NA match play out the same. Every gen pops instantly, killer can potentially get kills or 4k but plays extremely stupid on purpose to allow everyone to escape or barely secure 1 kill.

All that does is reinforce peoples mindset that killers don't need to get kills, and that survivors should always escape. A ton of survivors already think this. Its like the NA games were trying so hard to either 0k or force the 2 kill 2 escape narrative that BHVR probably fed them before hand.

Might wanna loosen that tinfoil hat just a wee bit there.
