How to increase frames on ps4 and ps4 pro
So as a console player it is really frustrating to play on low frames. However I may have found a solution. To increase frames on the PS4 go to sound and screen and put your resolution down to 720p. This may decrease image quality slightly but will help the game run better. You can also turn off supersampling mode but I'm not quite sure if thats a pro only feature. Enabling boost mode on the pro will also boost performance.
I have taken all these steps and it has been running smoothly since. Hope it can help my fellow PS4 players enjoy the game as smooth as possible.

... Dude... how have I never seen this? Is that a newer option? I would play 240p with super nintendo graphics if it meant 30 fps. Seriously, thank you for the PSA. I haven't played in awhile but I will definitely swap that on if I end up coming back to the game

I'm pretty sure to can turn your resolution down but I'm not sure what else you can do

I changed the thermal paste on my base ps4 and it increased the fps.. still bad but not full slideshow territory any more.

You need to change the thermal paste. Mine was doing this and now it is quiet.

Update: I can see an improvement. This doesn't let BHVR off the hook though. Switch, Xbox and PS4 all need optimization. We should not have to wait for the next gen consoles.

I can't play at 720p. I have a big TV and the lower resolution makes me think my eyesight is getting worse. Still though, cool sorta fix you found.

God damn this worked beautifully, that or it was the biggest placebo I've ever taken. I tried a few games of survivor and killer and it just felt so smooth. I didn't notice a single lost frame anywhere. I haven't play against the Doctor or on Lery's yet so those will be the big tests but god damn again if this didn't help.
I can't believe I never thought of trying this myself. I've actually changed resolution for other games before but it never occurred to me to try it with DBD.

Damn that sucks, it really does feel smoother though. Anyways I hope we get 1080 60fps on consoles. It's strange because the devs talked about console optimization 2 years ago and it never came. I hope they fix this soon because it's 2020 lmao

I don't have the pro so I could only change the resolution. Sadly the performance is still super trash on maps like Lery's. I really hope console optimization is worked on soon...
