Camped for no reason...yeah let's buff killers
One gen was done, he had one hooked at that point. I got his attention and the chase began. I ran him around the map for awhile, at least enough time for my team to get 2 gens done. When none were done and he was still on me, I knew I had lower ranked team mates (Killer and I were both the only red ranks in the game). Finally he gets me (got stuck on a stupid car) and I get hooked. One gen pops. 3 gens to go.
He cloaks and starts running around me. I signal for my team that he's camping but lower ranks must not know what the signal is so a Meg comes close. He hits them and they run away. Instead of chasing them, he comes back and literally stands right in front of me uncloaked and stares at me till I hit struggle mode. None of my team mates try to get me and I die first hook. A gen pops while I die.
Sometimes I can't with this game... I literally did nothing to provoke this. No teabagging, no pointing. I didn't even have an item. But yet that's sadly a pretty common occurrence. I read all the time on here that killers never get kills and they never camp or tunnel unless survivors are toxic etc etc. I got tunneled by the Pig the game before this one and then camped by the wraith. I play fair, I don't use DS or unbreakable, I don't teabag unless it's a Ghostface cause I want him to do it back, I try to keep it fun and enjoyable for all. Yet all I'm met with is people constantly wanting to ruin my fun. Why is killers enjoyment more important than the survivors?
I play both sides and have been for years. I never camp or tunnel cause I also know how fun killing it is on the opposite side.

Sounds like he found the strongest survivor and decided to remove them from the game immediately while the potatoes crouched in bushes. Smart man.

It sucks but you can't change these things without vastly changing the game
2 -
If winning is that important to someone that they'll purposefully ruin someone's game just so they can have an easy advantage, that's really scummy. I used to bring party streamers and the anniversary cakes but now I feel like I'm supporting their crappy ways so I just bring bloodpoint offerings for myself or other survivors.
6 -
Camping is only an "easy advantage" if survivors enable the killer. Do gens and escape, if you are the guy on the hook try to hold on as long as possible.
7 -
Wish people actually considered how the other side feels. I do, that's why I don't be toxic to killers (even though I definitely have the ability to do so). Or when I'm killer, I legit will ignore someone if I know they just got off hook, even if it makes me lose in the end. I just want everyone to have fun. And it also ensures me that I'll never get hit with DS huehuehue.

Oh it's scummy, but the game does very little to discourage scummy behavior. If it did, the Killer would start to get pushed away from a hook (unless X number of gens were done) by the entity after hanging around it for so long (or maybe on hook phase changes?) and the entity would start pushing survivors back into the map if they hung around the edge of the exit gates for too long waiting to teabag or whatever.
They could really use the entity excuse to add some really interesting anti-bastard mechanics to the game to encourage getting your objectives done in an active way for killers and telling survivors that if they don't want to leave then maybe they want back into the map proper, so once that get is open get out, unless someone's on the hook, which we already know can slow the EGC, so it could function the same here.
Just little things that people who play the game normally might never even see, while people who thrive on being jerks for no reason would come to the forum to cry about.

Welcome to online gaming i guess
You'll learn to deal with it

The problem here is youre taking it personal. Its not. He didnt "purposefully ruin YOUR game" he was trying to win said game. Do you ever notice everyones split up on different gens and think "you know i should go get the killers attentiin and let him hook me instead of finishing this gen, i dont want to ruin his game by finishing this gen and have 3 pop at once." No, of course you dont, youre just trying to win too. I get it sucks but it is what it is dude.

Considering that the game is based on the fact that someone wins and someone loses.... yeah I'd say it's pretty important. Especially when it's competitive and ranks/MMR are affected.
6 -
Thats the problem with modern gaming, people are too focused on making ######### competitive and winning to actually enjoy the game.
2 -
I agree. Keep in mind, I'm all for the enjoyment of the game. But I, as do many others, don't enjoy losing. If I'm sitting there having a bunch of consecutive matches where I lose, regardless of how intense they are, I'm not going to have fun. I'm just going to get more irritated as time goes on which results in me getting off to cool down because now I'm no longer having fun. Others who don't do that, resort to "scummy" play as some call it even though those strategies are viable to a degree.

As a killer main, I don't camp but I tunnel when needed, we as killers at high ranks never will care about your fun ever thats something you will need to learn about this game, its not fun its just stressful. Take it from the killer side of things Ortmund swf gen rush thats not fun right? Yet it happens to us killers sorry buddy but camping isnt something that will change anyways camping is never a good thing

"If winning is that important to someone that they'll purposefully ruin someone's game just so they can have an easy advantage that's really scummy."
You mean like all SWF players?
8 -
Well you can't expect people to do that especially if it becomes necessary to win..but that's why there are perks for that
0 -
I've been playing dbd for 4 years and other online games for over 10. I'm not new to anything and we shouldn't normalize ######### behavior.
0 -
I'm not taking it personally and if my post made you think that than I'm sorry. I'm just venting my frustrations.
0 -
I play both sides. I've learned everything there is to. I'm not new to anything.
I was around when gen rushing was actually a thing. It doesn't happen anymore and if it does, that's solely on the killer. I never get gen rushed because I keep pressure. But I also don't tunnel or camp either, two things that in my opinion make keeping all around pressure worse.
If a game isn't fun anymore, why play? If you're not having fun and are stressed, then why play it? Maybe you're wanting to win a little too much, it matters too much to you that you feel stressed about winning or losing.
I'm not frustrated cause I lost. I lose a lot, and I win a lot. I'm frustrated when other players literally deny you the ability to play the game, denying your fun for an easy win.
0 -
Oh i get the frustration believe me, what im getting at is your thought pricess. Im honestly not trying to be mean or rude just pointing out the truth. It wasnt about ruining yoyr game. It was about winning. Most of tge time camping is a bad strategy, thats why youll rarely see smart killers do it early game. But sometimes it works. Best thing to di is renind yourself its not personal. Hes not trying to "ruin your game."

I only have ever played solo queue so I can't speak for them. But from the 2s I've seen, it's either they play normally or they screw over me and the other survivor and only worry about themselves.
0 -
Unfortunately, that's on BHVR and it goes to the design flaws in DbD. They could have added features to the game to prevent that type of facecamping, but in four years they have not.
DbD is one of the only PvP games I have played where you can be denied actually playing a match by an opponent, and it isn't even a matter of skill, as in they outplayed you and completely shut you down.
1 -
I get that but killers do know that camping, especially early game IS annoying to the other side and DOES ruin people's games. The only time I'd say camping was okay is end game. Camping then at least makes sense. But to camp me after one chase is just rude and scummy. And they know it.
0 -
They do know it, they dont care because they want to win. Just like all 4 survivors splitting up to do that first gen is scummy and rude, is what it is
2 -
I agree that camping is boring. You don't know how badly I don't want to sweat every game as killer. But every single red rank game as killer you have to sweat, you have to slug, and more than likely you are going to have to force a second stage hook, especially against an SWF.
Survivors always complain about the way killers play yet a lot of it is necessary in higher ranks due to the incredible amount of second chance perks, coordination, and gen speed.
3 -
Completely agree with everything you've said.
1 -
So, I was Rank 12 last night. Played a match and ended up with three red rank survivors and a rank 16.
Oh, boy. When I did manage to catch a red rank and get them, I got DS'ed a couple of times (didn't even chase them off the hook, actually found them on Generators but that goddamn 60 seconds), slugged one . . . oh, look, unbreakable.
It was asinine. Only time I recloaked as Wraith and just went elsewhere until they were all done the Gens, then popped the gate myself to start EGC.
I have zero intent of ever going into red ranks voluntarily.
3 -
I've never played with swf, only solo queue. Hell, I don't even bring flashlights cause I know killers hate them. Yet I'm treated like I'm a toxic survivor every match... I can't even remember the last time I had a chill fun match where I got to boop a snoot. Its just a bunch of sweaty try hards, on both sides.
0 -
Red ranks are brutal on both sides. Solo queue as survivor, you rarely get good team mates who do gens. I once had a team that literally fought over chests and totems while I tanked the killer. Luckily the killer saw the clownery that was happening (he was a clown lol) and just killed them and gave me hatch. Even he was amazed that they were all red ranks and they did nothing.

They have tried anti camp features in the past...
SWF abused them so horribly they had to be removed and were never attempted again.
SWF causing issues for both survivors and killers since the inception of the game.
6 -
I won't argue with that, especially line 3.
4 -
Sorry I derped.
1 -
It said I won't ARGUE not won't agree. 😂🤣
2 -
Sorry I derped.

A thread gets posted every other minute about camping, tunelling, gen-rushing, ect and their argument is always the some stupid variation of
"I DIDnt HaVe FuN!!1"
It is not the other sides job to make sure you have fun.
6 -
And yes, this is true of any PvP game. But for some reason players in DbD think it's the killer's job to make the game fun. Why? 🤷♂️
3 -
Simple: Entitlement.
Survivors have historically been favored more then killers so the survivor community from what I have seen because spoiled rotten.
An issue with survivors gets fixed almost instantly(For the most part).
Meanwhile nurse still has game breaking bugs from her nerf patch...Which was last October.

Everyone plays the game to have fun. When the minority of the game has the ability and is ruining the fun for the majority, THAT IS A PROBLEM. If you can't see that, you're apart of the problem.

Every time I, as a Killer, consider how the survivors feel, it bites me in the butt. I try to play fair and get shafted for it with BT Bodyblockers.
1 -
Thing is, the killer could have got so much more points (and emblem points) chasing, downing and hooking other survivors rather than camping.
But you know, gotta secure that 1 kill for whatever reason and sacrifice BP’s and emblem points.
What doesn’t help in solo games is that other survivors don’t understand what to do when a killer camps. They just hopelessly crouch around the hook.
2 -
I feel you we all get bad games playing solo why most play in swf group.
1 -
But i mean, with you having all this play time in the game you'd think you'd just let it go and not even care about it. Its something that happens to everybody, get over it and move on.
0 -
Yes, it is possible, when it should not. Sorry for that BabyDweet. I advise you to shorten this game according to your abilities, and to wait in a new lobby hoping to have more fun.
Welcome to the fog.

Its happening every game. Im not like you, I don't just like taking things. Plus I stated I needed to vent, as does everyone from time to time. Don't like it? Stop reading. You chose to read my post.

Im not actually new. I've been playing for years. My name is just a meme.

Kindred if your playing solo and this is the caliber of your ally randos run kindred.
Alternatively assemble a team or even get on other ally who is competent to play with you. This should dramatically increase your survival rate. Also there's nothing wrong with running ds. As long as you dont abuse it. (not that anyone can stop you) its a very reasonable perk that prevents scenarios like this.
1 -
Your name causes me to have an inexplicable sense of caring for you resulting in me wanting to hug and spoon you.
0 -
Wow talk about bad teammates.
Perhaps he noticed your gamer skills and decided to take out the strongest member of the team?
He was probably trying to bait your teammate with the cloak, then he camped until you were in struggle to make sure you would be dead on next hook.
But idk because I act like an idiot when I play survivor.
Out of curiosity, what is the signal you used to indicate he was camping?
1 -
I run kindred. They chose not to save me. I died on first hook so DS wouldn't of even mattered.
0 -
❤️❤️❤️ We need more Dwight Love and less Dwight Abuse in the Fog.
2 -
Back then when a killer camped, survivors would flail their arms up and down (in the first stage of being hooked of course) to let their team know that they're being camped. Now people do it cause they're bored on hook but back then we used it as a strategy to warn your team. Sometimes people know what it means, sometimes they don't. I figure it's worth a shot to at least try and prevent my team getting screwed by a camper.

If someone has to camp against low ranks to win, they're just bad. Also if you think dbd is competitive, you're completely wrong.
