Frame rate cap
Hi i just recently switched from console to pc. Ive noticed theres a frame limit of 60fps. I also found that you can change the ini file (if using steam) to uncap the limit. My question is why not just add the option to the settings so that if you're using the windows store you're not at a significant disadvantaged against steam users. the difference is staggering and should be easily added to the game settings. this is the only game that does not have the option. Its almost like im still playing on console, the only difference is mouse and keyboard.

Yeah it’s really stupid. There’s a lot of basic functionality that DBD lacks for some reason.

I think that's exactly why they have that cap. They believe, it wouldn't be fair to console players to have opponents with high frame rates.
I've seen even fog whisperers overcome that cap, so I guess you can do it, too. But I guess I am one of the naive players who think anything that is not in the game options, shouldn't be changed.

would agree except the game legit just got cross play so that cant be the reason.

Yeah its currently cross play. However you can't possibly know whether or not they always had cross-play in mind. So that still could be the reason. Also on PC 60 cap might be important for optimization, or they just want to make a fair ground for both high and low performance rigs. Those are just a few reason pops to my head rn. I am sure there are more.

They force vsync on, you can disable this too, but in my testing, there is nothing to be gained from doing it in actual game performance. I do have the framerate cap off though.
Their options are embarrassing. They're lazy as ######### too, so they support NVIDIA Geforce Experience overlay, because they didn't have to do any of the work. You can turn on the overlay and get like HDR colors, gamma/brightness/a useless colorblind mode, etc. All of it ######### which should be in the game itself - at a massive performance cost.

Yeah, the cap is dumb, especially for people who use G-SYNC and need their fps capped 3 frames below 144. You can go in the .ini and turn off VSYNC, and the cap, as I believe it offers no advantage other than aesthetics.

i dont think so. they wouldnt let anyone change the ini file if that was the case.

Maybe. Don't get me wrong btw, as a PC player I do hate that cap myself. I just don't think they are gonna remove it anytime soon. Especially with cross-play on.

Keep in mind that changing any file is at your own risk and not recommended, as uncapping FPS has caused problems in the past with desync (people got trapped in the basement) amongst others.
