The Blight, we really aren’t getting the update to test on PTB?

Okay, so when I asked last week all the defenders told me to wait a week. Well we have two hours to see if they update PTB but it doesn’t seem so.

So they released an old version of Blight, have an updated version, but we won’t see that until live so who’s testing for bugs and problems? If you say the devs first of all LMFAO, and second if they can test things whats the point of PTB anyways?

I think the devs care more about impact of graphical update on performance more than anything else this PTB.

I really don't understand why some people still defend the devs at this point. I stopped defending them a long time ago.

The OP has a point though.

What's the point of testing the PTB if it's a week old and they already have an updated version that McLean has confirmed is much better than the current Blight? It makes no sense.

What does the pandemic have to do with it? They’re presumably still working at home, but whenever they are clicking the buttons who decided to click the old button and not the new one?

I don’t get it either, I still play the game it’s fun if you accept it for what it is, but to claim the devs do no wrong and anytime you criticize them you’re called a crybaby or told to chill...

The problem with that is the coding, ANY change could cause a totally unrelated bug. For example they fixed Blight double stun according to leaks so what if that causes Legion to not have a stun coming out of Frenzy? Those are the things that can and HAVE happened in the past so they should let people test the new build before it goes live

I really should have saved the names of everyone who said, “they’re testing other things,” or “relax dude they’re busy,” and if they complain about bug whenever this hits I can video call and laugh at them.

Reminds of me (less seriously) the people who posted pics of being brave and not wearing a mask to Walmart and now have Facebook posts asking for prayers because they and their kids have Covid

If they cared about performance then the game should have definitely been optimised properly for crossplay.

each chapter and mid chapter come with loads and loads of changes. new perks, new maps, reworked perks, reworked maps, new killer, new survivor, new bug fixes, etc... it's a lot for any UAT team to test. PTB is about testing all of that. if they then decide to make minor revisions after PTB feedback they don't do a new PTB, they make those changes and release to live. a UAT team can test the hell out of a single killer and do a quick smoke test of the rest of the killers and be fairly confident of results. It takes an army of willing players to touch every spot on the map, every vault, every pallet, every perk combo on every killer and survivor, etc...

So most likely the changes were still in UAT testing when PTB was scheduled to go live. They probably had an internal dilemma about whether or not to delay PTB in order to release with those changes, but decided it would hurt their schedule

and before you scoff at their testing remember that of the hundreds or thousands of players that were on the PTB for midchapter nobody reported the quicksand on the hill bug that has become such a hot topic. Every bit of tecnhology has bugs. Hell, Apple still can't get a calendar right, and that's not much more than counting days and they have WAY more money to throw at testing and developing than Behavior does (at least until we finish buying up all the skins)

should they release a PTB for every change? Sure. They should also keep the PTB live and updated with the latest change until all of the bugs are fixed. But in that world we would never get a new chapter to the live servers and Behavior would never make the money necessary to pay the team and pay for the servers we all play on. We all live in a world of "good enough". never perfect, and only rarely completely broken.

Sorry for the rant, as you can probably tell I work in IT and get frustrated when users expect an absolutely perfect result each and every time a major change goes in.
