How to rectify the Hatch problem without affecting the Hatch itself and changing Keys.

The main problem with the Keys for Killers is that the latter lose a lot of opportunities to get Bloodpoints and Emblem points leading to small Bloodpoints and depips being the main reason of Killer's frustration.

There is a concept to rectify this:

If one Survivor escapes through the Hatch and Exit Gates are not opened, the Killer will get:

  • 700 Bloodpoints towards the Brutality Category which is equivalent to succesful basic attacks and one destroyed Pallet.
  • 1000 Bloodpoints towards the Deviousness Category for protecting the Exit Gates from being opened.
  • 1100 Bloodpoints towards the Chaser Category as the compensation.
  • 700 Bloodpoints towards the Sacrifice Category which is equivalent to "Hooked" event granting 500 Bloodpoints plus 200 Bloodpoints.
  • The Killer can't get more than 8000 Bloodpoints in one of the Categories.

Additionally, the Killer will get:

  • as much points towards the Devout Emblem he would get for hooking and killing this Survivor. The max possible quality of the Emblem in this case is Iridescent.
  • as much points towards the Malicious Emblem he would get for hanging this Survivor on the hook and injuring him.
  • as much points towards the Chaser Emblem he would get for hitting this Survivor one time and chasing him for 1 minute.

If more than 1 Survivor escape through the Hatch when Exit Gates are still not opened, the Bloodpoints and Emblem points are multipled by the value equivalent to the number of leaved Survivors.

Bonus Emblem Points cannot provide Killers with more than 1 pip if more than 2 Survivors escaped through the Hatch.

This imo would almost completely solve the problem of Killers sugging for the 4k due to no reward existing for doing it. Additionally, Keys will not be that butthurting because the Killers will get appropriate compensation for witnessing this.

No, it won't. Nobody cares about BPs. You play killer to kill, not to farm numbers at the screen.

the main reason why Killers slug for the 4k is emblems. Currently it is impossible to get 2 pips without keeping the third Survivor on the ground while searching for the final one.

This change would imo remove tons of motivation to slug the third person bcs doing it will not change anything.

Nope. The main reason why killers slug for the 4k is their intention to get the 4k, because it doesn't feel like a complete victory if you don't kill everyone or let the last surv go to the hatch intentionally.

And it feels really bad if some swf is escaping through the hatch after t-bagging you, regardless of BP amount you get.

I couldn't care less about BP. All I care about is kills.

I play killer because it's the most efficient way to farm BP so that's kinda false to say. I would love something like this, they escape I get points for the game ending ubruptly.

Could do something similar for moris where the dead gets a bonus depending if it's after only first hook

My main problem with hatch escapes due to keys, esp. multi-man escapes, is the unfairness of this siutation. That the survivors can weasel out when the killer finally got the upperhand in the match. And there's nothing they can do when the survs stop doing gens and searching for the hatch instead, bc they have a key for it. The solution for this is not giving the killerbonus BP or emblems, that doesn't make it less unfair. The proper solution would be to disallow multi man hatch escapes until all gens were powered (so the achievement is still doable).

The same applies to moris btw. Bonus BP or guaranteed safety pip when the killer plays a mori does not increase the enjoyment either. Thats why moris should be reworked as well instead of band-aid fix some BP gains on it. But thats another topic, obviously.

Personally I don’t care about bloodpoints or emblems when I play killer, I just find keys annoying because they totally disrupt the flow of the match. If survivors are going to escape it should be through playing the match as intended. If they beat me fair and square and make it through the gates then they deserve their escape, and if they get the hatch as the last guy then whatever. Keying out is stupid though.

(And yes this same reasoning applies to moris. If a killer kills me via chasing me down or outplaying the team then good for them, but being able to mori off first hook is stupid.)
