A 4th teachable for each survivor

Greetings,

I was wondering, since every chapter includes 1 killer and 1 survivor, why not give the survivor a perk which counters that specific killer, a 4th teachable perk.

That would not be broken, since the perk would be useless when facing other killers.

Exemples :

Claudette : the old small game, which allows her to see the aura of the trapper's traps at a certain distance.

Jake/Dwight : thick skin, if you are the obsession you go into deep wound instead of insta down with the hillbilly's chainsaw. (higher chance of being the obsession).

Feng : have a % to resist the doctor's shock

You got the idea, at least like that there is always a link between the survivor and the killer of the same chapter. 😋

    That's quite a gamble don't you think?

How about no? That would be incredibly op and would cause no one to buy new killers. Why get a new killer when you know that he's already hard countered?

You have 4 perks slots, There 21 killers around, Not everyone plays the new killer hence it's released.

How is this incredibly op ?

Flip the script. What if it was a perk that caused you to lose a hook state upon ds use, or would cause you to break an ankle after dead hard and not be able to sprint? Every single killer would use it, because it would counter a really strong ability.

This would just pollute the Survivor Bloodweb even more. Basically every Chapter is 3 Survivor Perks nobody will really use (yes, there are exceptions, but the majority of Perks released since a few years is garbage), we dont need even more of them.

Nobody would equip a Perk just for the hope that the Killer is the correct one. Let alone that it would be a bad design in itself, the Killer can get extremely unlucky without himself or the Survivor knowing this beforehand.

Uh... No. Even ignoring that they would almost never be used, they would be extremely, EXTREMELY unfair in the rare situations they are. Imagine Devour on steroids: that's what these kind of perks would be.

As hard as a toxic survivor I am that would be unfair.

It there were to be a fourth perk from each survivor there would need to be killer ones as well. But rather than make them a new teachable I'd make it unique to that killer/survivor. Then design a perk to work around a killers power/a survivors personal lore.

For example Claudette is clearly the healer survivor. Making a healing perk only she could use would give a reason to play certain survivors. In the case of killers you could make perks that compliment a power that wouldn't be possible before.

No, just no man. Either it will be useless since you won't face the killer, or you'll hard counter the killer and screw the game. Combine that with the fact this will takes tons of effort to pull off, and you should see why this isn't great.

Most ideas for survivors, or anything at all for them has a tendency to get obliterated in this place. It’s not a bad idea. Killer seems to be the majority voice wherever DBD is concerned. Read thru the boards, take it all in and tally it all up.

Truth is, majority doesn’t always rule.

Keep coming up with ideas, don’t let one loud roar silence your creativity.

    Your voice matters.

I would like a 4th teachable but not Killer specific though...

that would be highly frustrating for both sides. If you’re survivor you’re basically gambling a perk slot that will either be super OP or completely useless.

If you’re killer your power has a chance of being completely useless. That would be incredibly frustrating

There's already a ton of perks that counter specific killers. Like spine chill counters stealth killers and small game is a counter for trapper and hag etc. It's not a bad idea but there's already so many perks in the game that counter specific killers. Plus I think your specific idea would make those perks mildly too specific.
