X killer is unfun aside, MAPS are unfun as hell
Maps for me are probably the main cause of my frustrations in this game. Both fun-wise and balance-wise and from both killer and survivor.
Most of this is pretty subjective, but I bet anyone can pick at least five maps if not more from this list that they don't like playing on (FYI i'm considering both balance and fun from both a survivor and a killer perspective):
- Suffocation pit
- Rotten fields
- Gas heaven
- Blood lodge
- Disturbed ward
- Haddonfield (screw this one in particular)
- Mothers dwelling
- Lerys memorial (for console players)
- Pale rose (big boat swamp map)
- ALL badham variations
- Sanctum of wrath
- Ormond (not unfun, but horribly unbalanced)
- Underground complex
- Midwich elementary school
That is a lot of maps that I find slightly to extremely annoying to play on from both sides. Honestly, if some of the worse maps like haddonfield and midwich were deleted, I would genuinely be happy.
I'm kinda sick of the deathslinger and spirit threads and I just wanted to post something that both sides can kinda agree on. I would love to hear other people's thoughts on maps currently.

Midwich is an atrocity.
Bring object. Hold W. No, seriously...

I don't like Midwich and Mothers Dwelling: Red Forest. Its just a big map with A LOT of dead zones.

Agreed. Thankfully I haven't had an OoO squad yet.
(inb4 i get one next game)

Shelter Woods is still a boring bland mess that really needs an update.
Rotten Fields is a small improvement but suffers the same issue as Shelter Woods. (at least it has Pig Tree which is something unique)
Blood Lodge is big and can screw over either side depending how RNG decides it wants to spawn.
Disturbed Ward's center is absurdly strong.
Mother's Dwelling is still a little bit too big.
Family Residence is a little too big and Bamboo is absurd for stealth.
Ormond is big.
AND FINALLY Midwich is a terrible map design wise for both sides and I want to throw it out a window for being probably the worst designed map so far.

Yeah, Shelter woods is a bore, same with Rotten Fields, those are my least favs
Not a fan of Suffocation Pit or Sanctum either
I love 2 story indoor maps, I’m just weird like that, I guess... wish they’d make a 3 story haunted mansion map, personally.
Haven’t played Badham with the breakable walls yet, but it looks like they cut off some of the stronger loops, at least the enterance to the downstairs of the ranch style houses. Would you still include the update of Springwood in your list?

Midwich is, unfortunately, pretty balanced.
Pale rose is actually a bit killer-sided til you take into account the stealth potential, as is Rotten Fields. But that's the problem with most of these maps: they're either extremely stingy with loops but extremely generous with the skillful crouch-in-bush stratagies and hold-W potential, or they're extremely generous with pallets and windows. Or, in the case of Haddonfield and Ormond, both.
And that's not mentioning the fact that it's borderline impossible to see scratchmarks in grass.

Pale rose is pretty balanced, just I absolutely hate playing on it. It's way too easy to be immersed and from the survivors end there isn't many loops, so one of the only options is immersion.
One good thing about it though is that scratch marks are trash, but they've balanced it out with loud footstep noise in the mud.

Midwich and Dead Dawg for me. Ungh. Either side.
Both are also boring as all hell.

I genuinely hate every map except Gideon and Midwich.

Ormond has terrible loops too, just like Yamaoka. I hate those maps (design wise) with a passion.

Ormond does not have terrible loops. Pretty much all of them are either jungle gyms or safe filler pallets and they can be chained together extremely easily.

Sorry, I speak often from the killer side, so they are really weird to navigate. I dont get why they exist.
