I did a whole afternoon “AFK” with Insidious + NOED. Guess how many games NOED activated?
100%!
Meme’ing around, giving survivors all the time in the world as a little experiment, and over a few dozen games NOED lit up while survivors are running around in my face every single one of those games.
I now propose all NOED posts by survivors should be banned from these forums until killers can no longer give survivors all the time they need to cleanse totems, but still don’t cleanse them.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As much as I agree that survivors should do more totems, I don't blame them for trying to rush out of a boring match.
42 -
If they’re running around in my face, spamming vaults, they’re not rushing.
And some didn’t get out. If they were close when the last gen popped, they were downed.
10 -
Personally I'd be more likely to do all 5 totems just for the boldness points.
13 -
By all means try it yourself. I even had a match with a Jeff that had a map. Still NOED activated.
2 -
This. I've done this myself as Clown, either when I want to depip, or I'm bored. I fondly remember one match, where a Dweet finally comes down into the basement (I guard the box), and spend a gens worth of time blinding me and teabagging. He died first. It was beautiful.
5 -
It's kind of hard to FIND all the totems unless you're running small game & tbh, small game throws me off and I can never figure out where it's going off at.
2 -
Clown was exactly who I did this with
2 -
When the Killer is afk I always cleanse almost all the totems in the match for those sweet 1000 bps.
Even my teammates help cleanse totems, so idk.
1 -
I don't really see the point that this post proves. If there's an AFK/farming killer, I'm just gonna wanna get gens done and get out, so I can actually get to play the game. I don't think a lot of survivors are going to think of NOED, if you're AFK and not playing the game.
Not that I'm complaining about NOED, but I don't think this proves anything.
12 -
If the Killer is afk there for fun - I go open all 3 chests, do 4 totems for boldness points then go do gens before prepping the last totem so I can instantly pop it as it turns into the Hex for my sweet sweet 1000 objective points and canceling Noed... in a perfect world if I wanted to even bother.
Honestly the people who are wasting time vaulting in front of the AFK killer are doing it because they're playing it to interact with the killer and not just nuzzle gens with M1 and I don't really blame them on some nights. The others who " aren't " clearing all the totems are most likely just trying to get the game over with - or like me and doesn't give whether the killer has noed or not until they see someone go down to it (at which point I'll go around to the usual totem spots to cleanse it - if the killer hooks near the totem and just camps it then I just leave and let him have his 1 kill). It's basically how the game is played and the amount of tears around Noed, Bloodlust, Slugging, DS, BT, Pallets, Windows, etc. etc. is wholly unnecessary
1 -
They are proving the idea that they are supposed AFK and still all that time. No one cleared bones at all proving the need for NOED changed in debate is otherwise the wrong point. Instead, it's proven by his experience that Survivors dont take the time to do bones at all but cry for NOED to be changed.

This ^
Thank you.
I’m tired of “nErF nOeD!!” threads when currently even if the killer deliberately or inadvertently gives the survivors all the time they need to find and cleanse totems, they still don’t anyway.
4 -
The relevance of this thread just reached Sonic Wolf Meat proportions:
4 -
Your experiment is completely flawed and doesn't prove anything.
Of course they didn't do totems in that instance, you were afk for God sake.
2 -
It’s free points. There’s nothing flawed about the experiment at all. If they’re running in my face trying to get my attention, then they want points.
4 -
"We can't do bones, the killer has too much pressure!"
"We aren't gonna do bones, the killer is AFK!"
Pick one.
8 -
dude make videos and show us t3h funz!

The totems are hard to find these days, it's not so much we're lazy and that's why we're not cleansing totems, it's more to do with the fact we can't find the bloody things. Hex totems give you a noise notification and some light to hit where they are but dull totems don't give any hints, you have to find them.
1 -
There are only so many places totems can spawn, once you played enough and pay attention to it it's really not unreasenable that you can know most spots by heart. Especially the hard ones
Untill you get to that point there are multiple perks and items that show you were they are. You just have to equip them
Saying they are hard to find is a poor excuse as learning were they are is part of the learning process
4 -
Totems are hard to find, especially on certain maps, like Lerys, and the game, expecting all survivors to know where every totem spawn is like the back of their hand is not a reasonable expectation. Besides your logic is flawed, you forgot why totem spawns were made harder in the first place, when they were easy to find the totems were usually cleansed every game and killers complained about it and wanted them to be harder to find. Now you're expecting all survivors to know where the intentionally well hidden spots are? Give me a break.
2 -
Except in this game it can be both, this isn't a pick one.
The match is boring, so you leave ASAP, he's "AFK" until he's got NOED active.
alternatively, a billy with pop can be decimating your gens and can't afford to get off them to look for totems.
3 -
I have a notion that survivors are just getting dumber over time, they don't get taught all the strats, they don't learn how to be effective survivors because quite frankly.....the survivor community is completely unhelpful and toxic toward new survivors.
If you're a killer on the other hand, theres a 1000 and 1 resources to learn from and people all over the killer community jumping hand over fist to teach their respective Baby Nurses or Baby Hags how to play better.
Meanwhile survivors just.....don't. You might get a few quick tips from content creators but locally....they're completely unhelpful toward each other. Which mirrors their interactions in games with the hook farming and body blocking and running the killer toward people etc.
Which is why NoED is a problematic perk for them, when a few years ago it was considered a trash perk that survivors easily disabled, even after it activated. Or sometimes it would just straight up not activate cause survivors did so many bones.
4 -
You don't need to know every single totem spawn like the back of your hand. But knowing the notoriously well hidden ones really isn't asking that much.
For example on the game there is a spawn under the stairs leading to the vaultdrop. In the red barn there is one inside the hai, on the lab map there is a spawnspot hidden in the large testing area where you have to do some parkour to get to it. The large machines on the farm map also often have one. Hills also often have a spawnspot.
I thought of all of these on the spot and i play this game like 4 times a week.
The totemspots were changed because they litterally used to spawn on top of hills or right next to a gen in the open
Mapknowledge is a skill survivors have and it's what seperates mediocre ones from good ones.
If you don't want to do the effort there is no shame in staying a mediocre survivor and just dealing with the occasional noed that triggers but you can't complain about it then.
2 -
This only proves that survivors don't want to depip because you decided to stay afk all match.
2 -
Some totems still spawn out in the open. Rotten Fields, though at least there is corn around it. On Disturbed Ward they can spawn just out in the open without even grass though.
0 -
Could the map track totems? If it was a green one without the killer belongings addon, the map wouldn't help him.
2 -
Also taking into account that there are four survivors. They only need to do one each, leaving one extra for somebody to find.
0 -
I mean if you’re gonna run a green map why wouldn’t you run red twine?
0 -
I usually prefer one or both stamp addons for greater scan area. Sure it can only show me gens then, but mostly I use it for getting the points and decision making which gens should get done next. I would use the killer belongings addon when I actually need to destroy totems (for challenge or Inner strength), but even then Detectives Hunch for totems and med kit for healing is usually better.
Btw, did the Jeff actually take the map into the trial? He could also just having found it in a chest.
1 -
Honestly dying is more exciting at that point... I’m sure many of them felt that way.
3 -
This entire thread is cringe of the highest order.
Wow if the killer's standing still not doing anything survivors will generally do gens instead of all five totems who knew.
Help yourself, man.
3 -
He took it into the trial. It was a rainbow map.
0 -
They’re under zero pressure, and had the opportunity to “make the most of it” with the situation I presented by earning additional BP cleansing totems.
My point stands.
4 -
You are oozing desperation.
If the killer's AFK, why should I waste my time looking for all five totems if I have no reason to believe the killer will even return, when I can just do the gens and leave to enter a real match.
4 -
Ok, then he obviously didn't bother to search for the totems. I would have, that juicy 1000 BP :D. Or he missed one of them.
Another thing is, if the killer is afk, the gens will fly. So if you want some objective points yourself, you have got to work with the others on gens first, after that you can search for totems. That might be one of the reasons you saw Noed being triggered so often, besides the fact that playing against afk killers is kinda boring and they usually want to get into the next match.
2 -
An INDIVIDUAL shouldn’t be searching out all 5 totems. There’s just simply no need to ignore ANY dull totems all FOUR survivors come across while repairing the gens.
The thought that all four survivors do NOT spot 1 or 2 dull totems during their travels around the map is preposterous.
0 -
And please don’t slander.
Forum rules are clear on that.
1 -
The fact that killers in here are like "They had all that time to do totems, why didn't they" Why should they? The majority of survivors would take a tunneling killer over an AFK one, there is nothing less enjoyable than a game where you just hold M1 and do 0 chases.
It honestly doesn't surprise me that people are trying to make out that there is some benefit to staying in an AFK killers game for longer because "they could get some totem points" lmao
4 -
What do you think the problem with NOED is? As in, the reason it is so heavily complained about?
It's because doing totems is unreasonable at base to counter a perk that the other side might possibly have, and it is generally speaking extremely poor and RNG-based "counterplay" (it's not actually counterplay, counterplay would be finding and cleansing the lit totem after it activated) even assuming the aforementioned issue was even fair. There is no point to doing totems: You will get your team killers over it more than you will void a lazy killers NOED.
And its also because the killer does literally nothing to earn such a powerful effect, as you have proven. You have proven the opposite of what you intended: You did nothing and got free kills because of it. Congrats.
2 -
I am not suprised at all and the reason for that is simple: Most survivors dont like to do generators, they want to interact with the killer. You know what people dislike even more then doing gens? Totems! Especially when they are dull and survivors have no idea if the killer is running noed and how many totems are already cleansed.
Sidenot: I am positive Noed will be changed very soon, so discussing it is probably just a waste of time.
0 -
This isn’t directed at you personally, but what nonsense.
This game is rife with gen rush. Sometimes there’ll be one survivor that’s never spotted because of how short the game is no matter how much you throw at the game as killer.
Many survivors claim that doing gens is boring, but the moment a killer takes the game seriously, “humping” gens to avoid the chase as much as possible is EXACTLY what most survivors do.
1 -
I equipped a perk that worked exactly as described. I “earned” the right to get its benefit by simply equipping it.
The same could be said for many survivor perks. Survivors don’t “earn” their decisive strike or unbreakable. Conditions are met that either let them use it, but they didn’t earn anything.
0 -
You know what i want when that happens to me? Get the ######### out of the game as fast as possible. Just rush the gens open the gate and run. I am also 100% fine if the killer downs and kills me with his noed right after the 5th gen poped. All i care is to get out of this boring experience.
You only prove that survivors also want to have fun and doing gens/totems is something nobody wants to do. Its not about if Noed is op or fun to play against, it is just that survivors dont care about your boring "memes".
1 -
What? If a killer is chasing a survivor, why would you dive into that chase?
There is no stealth if the killer is AFK, there is no thrill if you know the killer is never coming for you, you know you're free to sit on a gen and finish it, and that is boring, nothing you say has made sense thus far, but carry on sis.
The fact you can't see the difference between winning because you and your team put up a good fight and just ending the match because the killer was AFK is very telling.
1 -
You just explicitly stated that most survivors find repairing gens the most boring part of the game, and that survivors want to interact with the killer by being chased.
I don’t recall anytime mid chase with someone else that I had the other three survivors figuratively going “pick me, pick me”, and i’d guess it’s likely that doesn’t happen to ANYONE playing killer.
1 -
Again, because people want to win - winning because you and your team put up a good fight feels good, so obviously you do gens if you're not being chased.so you work as a team, yea? No survivors win if nobody does gens, how is that so hard to understand? lmao
2 -
They were probably hoping NOED would activate so they’d be able to actually do something in the match other than hold M1 and watch a bar slowly fill up.
1 -
No it doesn't, do you know how often survivors will encounter killers who do what you do? They're called bots, they're the most annoying games to get, survivors typically just do gens and leave ASAP to get a real game. The only other time killers AFK like that is if they're trying to meme, and that does typically catch survivors off guard because the norm is AFK killers are bots.
1 -
Exactly. So the “gens are boring” has no grounds. Survivors WANT to do gens as fast as possible, and do all they can to avoid being in a chase.
2 -
What are you even talking about?
Gens are boring, people would rather be in a chase, but if one survivor is already being chased, doing gens is the only option, doing gens with 0 risk is not fun, but winning because you did gens to help out someone being chased is fun, the fact you can't figure this out says all it needs to really.
