SInce you´re not a noob Killer, the best advice I can give you is to really be on point in the M1 game, abuse the small TR if the map allows it, and pop EW3 as early as possible. Even if u "waste" it and don´t get a down, every pallet in the first chase will be dropped super quickly. Windows don´t work as well on T3 Myers for obvious reasons, so there´s that.

I tried Otz´build and found it can work quite well, but changed it a lot. My go-to build for a standard Myers game (no tombstone, mori or mirrors) would be BBQ, Corrupt, Pop and Brutal Strength. Maybe change your perk setup to fit your style better or to lessen your weaknesses.

In the end, he´s not among the better Killers unfortunately. A 2k against a very good team can be a good game, even if the entity is displeased.

Also, the Spooky Myers (Scratch Mirror and Boyfriend's Memo add ons) is actually viable on a lot more Maps than most people think. He does well (for me at at least) on the following:

    Meat Packing Plant

    Lerys

    Swamp (all variations)

    Midwich

Haddonfield *Yes Haddonfield... most Myers are terrible there but Spooky does fine and can Gen-Lock very easily.

Cold Wind Farm (all but Rotten Fields)

*I've had 3-4K on ALL of the maps above more often than not using a Myers that never gets out of Tier-1.

Besides the obvious PWYF needed for that build, what else do you run?

  • Moundshroud
    Moundshroud Member Posts: 4,458

    Right now I run:

    PWYF (as you guessed)

    Hex: Ruin

    Hex: Thrill of the Hunt

    Sloppy Butcher

*Sloppy Butcher is a nice passive that reliably increases the odds they are still wounded when I hit them for the second jump scare attack. If I use the fact that I'm wall-hacking and keep chase pressure up on them constantly they have very little time to heal. Hex: Ruin slows down the Generators and Hex: Thrill of the Hunt serves a DUAL purpose. It protects Ruin by slowing down people doing Bones, but it also alerts me to whenever a Totem is touched so I can find someone who MIGHT be far away and out of my wall hack view. It allows me to get there before the Totem gets cleaned and pull them off the Totem, or at least drive them away. It helps keep the pressure up. PWYF works as you already know, so I'm not going into that.

Now, depending on the final form, I might swap out Sloppy Butcher for Hex: Undying. Spooky Myers really relies on chase pressure and making them jump at every shadow, and having every oppressive effect he can on Generators.

I honestly need to get more Hexes. I haven't run them much due to the spawn RNG, so need to get Devour Hope (I left Hag at Level 39), and Haunted Grounds (Spirit is Level 1, so maybe via the Shrine).

Huntress rots at Level 4 because she just isn't my type of Killer, same as Spirit. Not sure if Hex: Lullaby is worth it on anything I play besides Doc (I mainly play Myers, Freddy, Leatherface, and Doc).

When a survivor teabags you at a pallet or something, that's free EW. Take advantage, then one shot their ass. Get out of tier one ASAP, know when to stalk.

Also why tf is Ghostface regarded as stronger than Myers? He has a larger TR, stalking is 10 times harder, marked timer is hella short, I mean am I missing something? I really want to be good with Ghostface, I really like his character, but I just can't bring myself to play him, because I get curb stomped every time I do.

    Yes, i'm stupid. :-)

I've thought the same thing concerning GF to be honest. I thought maybe it's just my playstyle. I like to be aggressive, and Myers can stalk and be aggressive at the same time. Whereas Ghostface requires a lot more holding back to stalk. And I don't seem to mix well with that style of play.

Yo, Is that an angry face for getting Infectious Fright? Because that is hands down Myers' best perk. Virtually every high-ranked Myers and Oni player uses it.

Like Oni, you only get 60 seconds in EW3 so using your power effectively is pretty key. If you insta-down a survivor and Infectious tells you there's another one nearby just leave that slug on the ground and keep your Evil train a-rollin'. You can frequently get 3-4 downs with a single use of EW3 this way.

Yeah, it was. My brain at the time was considering my small Tier 2 TR and I completely forgot about the T3 usage. 🤣

(This current book I'm in the middle of working on was mentally draining for a couple of days.)

Right now my favourite Myers combo is deselecting him and picking GhostFace... :(

Seriously though the only strat I found the thing that worked was running pop and endfury, but at that point I'm getting carried by the fun and interactive perks and not really using Myers' power because it's so underwhelming, and it's also a build I guarantee would be even better on GhostFace. I used to main Myers but Jesus it's been so long since he's had something interesting added to him that he's become so stale to me.

I get it, trust me. The disconnect so far with me and GF is playstyle. He's more of a take your time and stalk type of killer. And hope you don't get pulled out of it and go on cooldown. Whereas Myers can stalk and be aggressive at the same time.

Myers just fits my aggressive playstyle much better. I find myself struggling way too much to get the lean angles to stalk efficiently with GF.

If I could get into the GF playstyle, I'd play him more.

I like trying new perk combos. I'll give that one a shot.

I usually run both. Tier 2 has like a 4-6 meter TR and Tier 3's infectious fright range becomes insanely large. The other two perks I run are usually Corrupt and BBQ but I've been trying out Thrilling Tremors + Pop.

  • Kilmeran
    Kilmeran Member Posts: 3,142

I need to get Corrupt on him. I'm trying, but the Entity is being a real ######### about it. I usually run BBQ right now for the BP since I am trying to blow through these level 50 bloodwebs to get Corrupt to appear. Let me know how Thrilling works out. I haven't run it much since Peanits explained a while back that gen progression is paused while Thrilling is blocking a gen.

While that's true, unless you're using Ruin you probably won't have very many regressing gens.

Tell me about it. Not only does Myers need a buff, but the matchmaking ensures that you can be completely outmatched. This was my last match as Myers, and I mean that both literally and figuratively. Usually I don't care how matches turn out, but it doesn't pay to be a new or a casual player of DBD. Until the MMR gets turned back on, I think I'm done playing killer for awhile.

Yep, rank 15-13 was when I started getting that crap, too. Then I got a long string of green and yellow ranks. Enough that I ranked to green, where I got a lot of purples. Finally, I hit purples and started getting greens and yellows again. Damned near ranked into reds with high purple rank, and started getting a ton of 4-reds on teams.

Nope. To hell with that. Put my rank back down. I'll be the first to admit I'm out of my weight class.

Before crossplay, I was high yellow or low green, as I don't play every night and it isn't my main game. Since crossplay, I've shot up the ranks. I could never do it before crossplay, and I left the game for months and didn't return until the day crossplay went live. I am not suddenly purple ranks after five months or so away when I could never do it vs straight PC survivors before that.

We definitely need a functioning MMR system.

I believe it's because of his ability to remove his tarrer radius, red stain, and others aura reading Perks in chase and the mind games that come with that.

  • SweetTerror
    SweetTerror Member Posts: 2,695

Yeah like you I don't play this game every night, so I'm a casual player of DBD at best. But every time I play a killer match, my rank 13 constantly goes up against survivors that are far outside my skill level. And I threw in the towel that night when I played against two rank 1 and a rank 5 in a single match.

I don't know if the MMR will ever return, but I hope it does, because this matchmaking is making many players like myself turn away from killer altogether.

Supposedly, it is slated to return. When? No clue and no word. For all we know it could be next week, in 2021, in 2022, or never because they can't get it to work right.

Personally, between all the variables in DbD, I'm not sure how they'll get it to work right. What does it weigh? Kills? Escapes? What about a Mori or a key? What about certain add-ons? DbD is not like, say, Overwatch where what a hero within a specific role is supposed to do is easier to track.

Hey I am an og Myers main and have tested every perk and type of build on him at rank 1. I only play him when I'm in the mood these days and try to do more fun builds rather than super meta. That being said Im loving my new build for him and no one has suggested anything like this that I saw. Tinkerer, pop, trail of Torment, whispers. Majority of my games go really well. Whispers for finding people quickly at the start and the end of the game. Tinkerer, pop, and TOT synergize together giving you information, semi-controllable undetectable status, and gen control. It's amazing how often TOT will carry over into tinkerer. For example I'll pop a gen, get TOT, while walking to gens undetectable, tinkerer procs showing me which gen to go to, while also rebuffing my undetectable status as I'm walking. Popping up on people in T3 while undetectable is awesome and fits his style. Keep the gens suppressed and you can get tinkerer procs over and over. I've gotten several perfect games with this build and it's fun. The only drawback is that it's still Myers and he can't handle big maps just like this build can't either. Works best on indoor maps.

Jmemorial+infinite michael,tier1 mirror i think+ rabbit one.alsoni use location add ons like spies from the shadows.the obsession perk where you get faster when obsession leaves is great for tombstone michael.micheal gets looped easily but eventually they will run out of pallets(let some idiot waste all pallets) and windows only last so long
