Kill rush = survivors all stood in one place and let the killer hit them because the W key was to hard to find.
Gen rush = survivors just doing their objective efficiently because their objective is to quick and easy in comparison to ending chases. Swf compounds this by not letting gens regress when you chase someone off it and no gen time being wasted for saves.
One is the survivors fault. the other is bad game design.

Kill Rush = Killer ended the game fast because their only objective rewards using unfun and frustrating gameplay mechanics.
Gen Rush = Killer wasted all his time tunneling and/or poorly providing pressure and let the other Survivors easily complete their only objective.
It's a non-argument either way, but there you go.

I mean, is it a survivors fault that the killer can't keep anyone off a gen for long enough? Is it a killers fault that they were able to down survivors fast? No, because it comes down to individual skill. You can't say 'OMG GEN RUSH' because a survivor did their objective faster than a killer could end chases, and you can't say 'OMG SWEATY KILLER' because again, it's not their fault that someone they were chasing messed up quickly.

DbD is a game where you win actually by scoring, not by killing or escaping.
I could start doing 4 man slug, but that's just boring and hurts my score.
Some people really want to hurt their score by gen rushing and leaving.

If you legitimately think thats the only condition for gen rushing then you clearly haven't seen gen rush squads/Tournament squads who will get those gens done no matter what the killer does unless its someone like forever freddy.
Even then I have seen those squads gen rush some forever freddies just depending on how many pallets spawned.

Gen rush = rush squad, newbie killer, survivors not running into chases on purpose and alternating gens when pushed off one
Kill rush = Really potato survivors, overly altruistic survivors, killer who knows what their doing.
There are several explanations for each, probably more than what I put here. It amazes me how many people scramble for the explanation that makes their opposing side look bad.
You can't boil these things down to "Grrrr survivor / Killer bad" Especially when blood points and pips don't matter to some people, and while the playstyle might seem boring to some, to others, it's just fine.

How can people say genrushing doesn't exist?
It takes 80 seconds base to repair a gen with one survivor. With good toolboxes and appropriate perks, 3 gens can be done in close to one minute if the killer finds and chases a survivor in that time that is. If the killer for whatever reason doesn't, then four can be done in the same time.
You can find a survivor 20 seconds into the match, chase and down in 20 seconds (good luck), have them hooked and move on in another 20 seconds and have 3 gens pop. You have one hook, two gens left, and three survivors able to repair gens, or save their buddy.
This is rare in my experience, but it does happen and is really unfun.

Considering how hard certain killers can snowball, I'm surprised to see some blind replies that the so called "kill rush" isn't a thing.
Especially with Infrectious builds.

most of the time when a survivor team dies fast is from dumb plays by that team. even if the killer does his best to pressure gens you will still get gen rushed against good survivors. your point is invalid as survivors have control in both cases.

Unfortunately, it is absolutely true that generator speeds trump literally anything the killer can do. I'm genuinely surprised that that is even a point of contention. You cannot blame a killers loss on poor tactics when most killers don't even use those tactics outside of brown ranks. The idea of "genrushing" comes from a genuine problem: no matter what the killer does in any way, a good team will finish all the generators and open the gates. The same cannot in any way be said for killers getting kills, because survivors always have this win-by-default option.

Isnt kill rush just tunneling? Which survivors have 2 perks to prevent and the killers wasting time chasing said survivor. Killers lost their gen rush perk because ruin forced you to look for it new ruin just do the entire gen and its useless.
