Anyone else feels freddy was overbuffed?

80% killrate vs all types of survivors, not the best ones

kidding? he has to set up his traps properly both in chase and out of it and thats really the biggest thing in his kit, gen tp doesnt really do much for him early on
0 -
Balance standard? Yea I agree on that.
Difficulty standard however no. Too easy to play in my eyes.

Plonking down a snare willy nilly at a loop with no movement speed penalty whatsoever is not a skillfully-demanding setup.
You must be joking about the gen tp. I don't even know what to say to that.

if you put the pool a little bit off survivor is gonna get to the pallet anyway and what does the tp help him with early on, you dont know what gens they work on so you cna just guess and survivors dont even give a ######### about freddy teleporting to the gen, they just keep repairing anyway so you cant use it to scare anyone. Its only usefull mid-game if you have a perk that will tell you where survivors are

The pool is huge. If you somehow manage to mess up putting a giant circle in a Survivor's looping pathway, you just... you need help. Seriously.
Even ignoring the fact that you can just use your tp for general map traversal and don't need to always teleport directly onto Survivors, or just using your brain to deduce which areas of the map need pressuring the most, there's this really cool awesome super epic Perk called "Thrilling Tremors" that tells you EXACTLY which gens are being worked on when you pick someone up. It's pretty poggers.
And which do you think is going to put more pressure on the Survivors: Freddy taking ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five seconds to walk to a generator, or five seconds to teleport directly to it?

okay, maybe i see him being weaker than you do, but the pool placement in crucial in loops(yeah its big but you have to place it at the right distance or it wont do anything
now for the teleport, yes map pressure is powereful but ive personaly had many bad experiences with it such as guessing that they are gonna be on a gen and teleporting to it while they were doing different gen, power goes into cd and you loose time and fixing this kind of 'issues' with a perk is never good thing
to sum this up i think freedy is strong killer but not op and we need killers with this kind of power to deal with the highest level of survivors
now for the brainless... part i partially agree but there are many poorly designed thigns in this game and nobody from the dev team seems to give a #########
i personally dont play freddy that much because i also find him boring, but hes definitely not a free win easy killer like everyone says

The pool slows the Survivor down to 3.4 meters per second for 3 seconds and forces them into medium vaults. If you can't make that work then again, you need help.
Honestly those teleporting issues sounds entirely like a you problem. It's not that hard to figure out where needs pressuring and it's NOT that big a deal to run a single Perk out of your four slots that gives you easy and valuable info.
Freddy isn't hard. At all. Git gud.

if the took away his abiloty to snare gens thst would be a godsend

To be fair though that kill rate was listed back when Forever Freddy was still a massive thing and people would suicide on hook rather than face it. I think that number's a tad skewed.

Maybe, but also keep in mind that those statistics were before the big killer buffs. Since then, maps are more killer friendly, toobloxes are more or less gone, godloops are history etc.

You literally cannot use the teleport for 45 seconds at the start of the game if you don't run Red Brush or hit somebody. Assuming the survivors spawn on the same gen(and they almost always do), one gen will pop in that time. He objetively cannot make use of it in earlygame.

Your point?

Toolbox nerfs were definitely nice but not that significant, gen speed was barely nerfed, and only 6 maps have had their sizes reduced, although those changes were surely good. To be fair Doctor was also buffed quite heavily, but Ruin was also nerfed, which 80% of all killers at red ranks used. And of course there's always the argument of old Ruin not affecting the top players, but that's bullocks. Old Ruin was the one perk that helped killers slow down the early game and was pretty damn strong if it didn't get cleansed within the first 20 or 30 seconds.
But admittedily almost all of the overpowered window loops are now gone, which is nice.
Nevertheless, killers have certainly received buffs, that's undeniable, but aside of the map reworks those buffs weren't that big, and the point still stands that hook suicides and matchmaking are reasons that those stats alone are not representative of the game's balance.

i can make it work, because i can place pools well
its not entirely my problem, im playing survivor too and i see it happen quite often to other players and yes using a perk slot to make part of a power work properly is a problem

I don't think he is overbuffed in terms of strength, but that he is far too easy to use. He has perfect syngery with easily the best killer perk, which is fairly brainless, Pop Goes The Weasel, as well as no downside to snarespam. You can't really fix the pop synergy and don't want to nerf him, so if I were to make any changes I'd consider things like he can only place 1 snare every 5s, snares have an extra second before they become active, something that just makes snarespam less mindless with no downside.

hell yeah. freddy is so good, you dont even need perks. i dont want him gutted but jeeze tone it down...........
0 -
Good, because it's easy as hell to place pools well.
You absolutely don't need a Perk to make Fredward's power work. Thrilling Tremors only helps massively. It syngerizes with him. You absolutely do not need Tremors to make his teleport work. You just need to hold E on generators.

I think parts of his rework were overturned.

Buffs? what buffs lol.
This was an entire re-work, no buffs where involved.
Freddy had the aura reading aspect of his character nerfed into extinction and his invisibility nerfed so hard all that's left of it is an intermittent invisibility class photo addon. All because he was 'boring' - boring: the thing Survivors say when they want a Killer nerfed because they're too lazy to learn the killers weaknesses and adapt them itnto strengths.
Survivors got the nerfs they wanted and they STILL complain because Freddy players took the nerf hit, adapted and excelled regardless. Hillarious. lol.
