Do You Use Iron WIll?

I have it on pretty much all my characters and builds, to the point where I think it's becoming kind of a crutch for me. But it's the best perk in the game imo. Still, for those of you who don't use it, why and what would you use instead ( depending on your build obviously. )

I use it sometimes, you can't really go wrong with it.

I don't use it cause usually once I get hit Im dead anyway. I suck at chases. I try to just do objectives and avoid killer at all costs. I just use Premonition, then dip out elsewhere when it lights up...☺

I used to, but I don't anymore after getting much better about reading killer movements and looping. Even still I would like to be able to use it, but there are more important perks.

Use it sometimes. I like pairing it with resilience.

It's strong and killers definitely lose a lot more 50/50s with you running it though. It's not quite my goto perk for every single game but it's a good general purpose one to have. If I'm memeing all this goes out the window as I try random perks and addons together but for a strategy...

I tend to approach soloqueue Survivor builds with a "Generalist" outlook or a specific 3~4 piece synergistic combo in mind. Something like Quick and Quiet, Dance With Me, Lithe+ Off the Record or Iron Will could be one (Where the hell did he go? build)

    For making a generalist:

First comes an Exhaustion perk as it's a resource that is being squandered if you aren't using it. Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Lithe, Head on and Balanced Landing. That order of preference for me.

Second comes an aura perk: Bond, Kindred, Aftercare, Empathy or Alert - same as above thats my order of preference. Some people replace this with Self-care or another power perk... I don't personally recommend that for solo queue.

Third comes the power perks ones that are either 2nd chance or help you directly in a chase if used properly: Decisive Strike, Deliverance, For the People, Spine Chill, Adernaline, Quick and Quiet and of course Iron Will.

Fourth comes your hook rescue perk if you don't want to stack power perks that synergize together: Borrowed time or We'll Make It being the two rescue perks. Pairing Soul Guard to your Unbreakable for example or Resilience with Iron Will. Inner Strength with Detective's Hunch. Prove Thyself, Vigil... etc etc.

Iron Will's a perk that never leaves any of my bars.

I feel it just makes the game more fun as it allows for more mind games and jukes that wouldn't be possible otherwise.

This is honestly so useful, thank you.

( I've been playing this game for less than a year and have a lot to learn. )

I use to think all chars sounded the same untill this recent flashlight glitch and they only work properly on ash.

Ash is loud af fr. Iron will is a must on this man for sure. I dont play bill or jeff as much but if there like ash then yes iron will is a must have.

Other than that just depends on my build. If I'm going for flashlight saves then yes its a must have.

Sabo or gen rush then no.

I don't run it because sounds are just absolutely stupidly unreliable anyway, plus it also removes breathing which wierds me out.

Only equip Iron Will maybs 25% of the time when I use NoMither an Resilience.

Even in a regular build I’ll have We’ll Make It in place of IronWill. Getting a speedy heal is so much more beneficial to matches, imo.

I’ve played far too many matches w/o IW to ever feel like I needed it to improve my games.

This is the main reason people should use it - at least as a killer I rely on sound a lot and it's definitely more annoying dealing with Iron Will in a lot of situations where it turns into a easy moonwalk hit for you into a much closer 50/50 at times.

Iron will lets me disappear mid chase. What other perk can do that? Quick and quiet maybe?

I use it bc when I get a fair killer I'm like" Hello??? I dont get 30 spirits in a row???"

I don't like to use most meta perks because I feel it's unnecessary for a survivor. So I don't run iron will.

What does your typical loadout look like out of curiosity?

Sometimes, my bread and butter perks are Kindred and Dead Hard. My two other perks are situational however recently a lot of killers tend to play scummy by face camping. So my third slot is usually borrowed time. There’s so many other perks I can use like Resilience, We’ll Make It, Spine Chill, Small Game, Detectives Hunch, Saboteur, Unbreakable, Adrenaline etc. I can use Iron Will but it doesn’t fit my playstyle

Repressed alliance, sprint burst, windows of opportunity and a 4th flex perk (breakout, calm spirit, detective's hunch, slippery meat, plunderers, saboteur...etc. I change it every game).

I know sprint burst is kinda meta but the idea is to pair it with repressed alliance. Repressed alliance is one of my main perks and I feel its very underrated. I sometimes use dead hard and object of obsession in solo just to prove to myself that object is a strong perk even at solos and I still stand by that point. I also don't use any items at all. Maybe from chests sometimes if I have plunderers but I dont bring any.

I too enjoy running OoO as a solo queuer but I keep getting Wraiths and Ghost faces which actually gives me some jump scare moments while trying to keep my camera turned away lol

Yes, I use it on every survivor I have it unlocked on. It has proven it's value to me many, many times, especially against Spirit, but also against other killers. I can't count the number of times that I have broken line of sight in a chase and successfully hid from the killer thanks to making no sound.

When I run my stealth build. Lithe, Q&Q, Dance With Me, Iron Will.
