What's the opinions on cross play??

I've recently picked the game back up after a couple months, and I'm just kinda wondering how everybody is feeling about the cross play addition? Im a little indifferent personally. I was a KR 16, and now at a 9 I'm finding a large population of PC survivors. It pushes me to get better and expirement with other killers and perks and add-ons but being on console PC runs circles around me. I guess I would like to see selective cross play, I'm a console player and I'll always admit that PC is better. Anyway just interested on the thoughts of others... ✌️

I kinda don't care just frame rates put console at a disadvantage so I feel better about beating pc rather than console.

switch vs pc is like a bycicle vs a motorcycle...

I'm sure, pc wouldn't really notice a difference. I have friends on pc and I love we can all play now. But a fraction of a second can change an entire match at purple/red sometimes and console just can't keep up with you guys lol... I mean you have so many more ways to customize you're controls alone, something console is kinda getting towards but is still not in reach. Plus the visual tweeks and as I said at high KR it can be win or lose with a lag... On our end BTW

And in much fewer words you essentially nailed how I feel. It's great, but there are small things at high rank that can win/lose you a match. Being casual myself it's NBD I don't care if I rank 1 or whatever but after a while it does get frustrating to lose at a high KR more then one time in a row simply because more of the high SR are PC players and that puts console in a losing battle... IMO

I really love the quick turnaround. That’s been my favorite part of it.

As far as competition, I’ve seen good player on console and bad players on console. Same as it’s been on PC. Maybe a bit more Moris from console, but it is what it is.

    No complaints from me.

I think it's great for queue times and I love that it's a step towards bringing players across platforms into more of a community mindset.

HOWEVER, from a Killer stand-point I wish there was a way to identify specific player platforms instead of the universal globe symbol. Because let's be honest, sometimes I just don't want to play against a SWF and if the entire lobby is filled with globes, there's a fair chance I'm lobby dodging.

Also, enabling chat across platforms would be great! I know a lot of ppl think it will introduce more toxicity, but I would really like to be able to share a positive message or GG with the Killer, regardless of platform. That's honestly important to me, being able to share positivity and a sense of comraderie, no matter which role you played. We are one community at the end of the day!

I dislike is, simply because it increased my long survivor times even more. I hate sweating for my killers, but I also hate waiting almost ten minutes to get into a match with rainbows that hide behind rocks.

As a PC player. I like cross platform as a Killer because my que times are near instant. Also console players tend to be noobs. It's nice to be able to play without having to try hard once in awhile.

As survivor however, I dont like cross play. As I said above, console players are noobs. Solo survivor feels worse than before. Hell, my friends and I don't even swf anymore unless we have a full group. If we have a 3 man our 4th spot is almost always a console player. Every console player we have been partnered with we've had to carry. Maybe once the console players have adapted to playing against the master race, they will improve.

My queue times are by far longer than before crossplay for some reason so it's kinda bad for me.

As for the skill yada yada there is 0% difference. PC gamers are not even 0.01% more difficult to kill or loop and juke than console gamers. The only thing PC players are better at is spamming the forums with their superiority comments.

Before Crossplay the Survivor Q times were very short. After Crossplay update they are extremely long. If a person selects to avoid crossplay it is even WORSE times before one can find a match.

    match Quality:

It is TERRIBLE. I get potatos from OTHER platforms and as a general. The killer is always running a MORI.

You should be able to op out of PC cross play. Survivor is just as easy with cross play but killer becomes even less fun since the survivors tend to phase through hits.

The PC "master race" are idiots but I hope the devs listen to them whine because no one wants to play with them anyway. Of course none of them seem to support the idea of being able to opt out of cross play with PC, almost like the people whining are just toxic survivor mains who want something to whine about because they NEVER lose ever and will always find something or someone to blame if they do. Nahhhh the DBD community is better than that.

Seriously though DBD is the most toxic game I play and PC players are 100x more toxic than any console player I have met. I Had a 4 man SWF invite me to a party to call spit some slurs at me while they told me they were mad butthurt that I slugged them with infectious fright instead of just letting them stay crouched and go for the flashlight save. That's kiddy ######### and reasonable by comparison to what i see on the end game chat on PC lol. Oh and another thing.

Oh and another thing I just remembered, I have had multiple PC players taunt me into coming over to them and then DC when they get instantly downed because they try to run an unsafe pallet. AFTER getting hit. And its normally that Nea with the spray paint skin with a name like "KillerCantHitMe" (not actually but the actual names are similar I just don't know if i should put the real ones because I think thats against the rules even though im pretty sure you can change your name anytime you want on PC since i see people with the same name all the time in SWF) I just don't understand PC gamers man lol

The devs haven't acknowledged the console optimization problems tho. They have only said on twitter that they will give special attention to it regarding the new graphics, which is only 7 maps. That doesn't help with the optimization problems regarding specific killers, powers, perks and status effects let alone the other 20-something maps that have problems.

And AFAIK, the devs have only admitted that the aim dressing exists but haven't said they will do anything about it, even tho it is the most horrible and BS mechanic in this game.

Do you have a link or something where they supposedly have acknowledged and promised to fix these problems?

I think Crossplay is a good addition to the game. The Devs removed the barrier and all players from all platforms are now connected with each other. I have some console friends and it's really cool to play with them together. In general crossplay increased the number of players and the queue times are much quicker than before. :)

Cross-play has let me play DBD with my boyfriend. Therefore it's automatically the best addition to the game, and I refuse to hear otherwise.
