Is there a way to help my FPS?+
I'm a new player. I just bought a whole PC just to play this game, I do have the requirements for it so I dont understand why I'm only getting 12-15 FPS in game. When I watch the video at the start I'm getting 60 FPS. Pc specs:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Manufacturer Dell Inc.
System Model OptiPlex 7010
System Type x64-based PC
System SKU OptiPlex 7010
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB

You can compare graphics cards to the minimum and recommended spec using Game Debate: https://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=23918&game=Dead%20by%20Daylight
One massive caveat, though, is that the minimum and recommended spec as called out on that site are both way lower than they should be for this game, because it's gotten harder to run over time. I'd recommend at least trying to get a GPU as strong as the recommended one from that Game Debate link (GTX 760). My best guess is that a GPU on that tier could get 60 FPS most of the time on low at 1080p, but don't quote me on that!
You can use this tool to compare GPU performance, so if you find one that's a good price you can see how it stacks up with the 760. I wouldn't treat this as gospel, but it's good as a gut check about GPU strength. https://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=882&graphics=GeForce%20GTX%201050%20MSI%202GB&compare=gpu
Your CPU and RAM are fine btw. Both of those should be enough for high settings. A good GPU should do the trick!
Edit: A GTX 1030 is quite a bit weaker than a 760, so I doubt that could run DBD well even on low.

What graphics settings are you playing on? Maybe try putting them on low to see? That will increase the FPS most likely.

I do have them on low but still only getting like 12 FPS.

Hmm, try turning your resolution down in the game settings. I know that's not ideal but just to see if it helps.
What GPU do you have?

Okay I did and got up to 16 FPS but it still kept dropping. My GPU is Intel HD Graphics 620

Hmm that's a low end graphics card you got there. It's not gonna run dead by daylight very well at all, 12-15 FPS on low settings, which you've said. If you want it to run at say 60+FPS or something like that, you would probably need to upgrade the GPU I would say.
As I said, that's not an ideal GPU to have to run DBD unfortunately.

Aww okay. Do you have any suggestions on which GPU I should get? None that'll break the bank tho lol.

GTX 1050 should be enough for dead by daylight. I personnaly have 1060 and it works fine.

If you chose Nvidia video card, make sure last digit is 50 or above. Even 950 is much better than 1040. First digit is a series, last is efficiency.

Okay thanks! But would a Nvidia 1030 be enough or no?

Thanks so much! I don't know a lot about PCs but this is very helpful :)

No problem! Good luck with the GPU search :D

No. If Last digit less than xx50 this card is designed to run something with low system requirements like office software. For games you have to buy 850, 950, 1050 or above. Like 1060, 970, 880.
I know 1030 seems inexpensive but reason is this card not gonna run any demanding games like dead by daylight more than 20-30 fps.
So I think 1050 is a best choise for you. Or you may look up for Radeon video cards. I'm not familiar with Radeon but they also have some good video cards for games.

Okay thanks! Just wanted to make sure :)
