We NEED a totem counter.
I know a lot of people have said this, but devs please. Give us a totem counter in the HUD. Reasons why:
- Solo surviving or duo queues are impossible because you never know how many totems are left. If you just miss ONE and don't know it then NOED is going to proc and that sucks butt after spending so much time breaking all of the others.
- Hex: Undying is coming and it's going to make NOED even harder to counterplay.
Please give us a totem counter!

Hex undying won't really make noed stronger... maybe once per 20 matches at max.
Totem counter would be nice simply because it would make the gap between solo and swf smaller.

By what? Reminding people to do totems? If everyone berates survivors for not just doing totems for counterplay to hexes like NOED and now Undying, then they need a totem counter so that solos and duos can actually counterplay. I know personally whenever NOED procs I think, 'wow, I wish I was playing in a 4 stack because I'm tired of this #########."

it help I'm sure I would think a lot more killer would stop running hex perk I mean survivor already be doing totem in the first place that why I make sure I do 3 to 4 and if I still get hit I blame my teammate not the killer.
Hex undying may make ruin stronger more then noed but who knows.

You also have to cleanse unlit totems--which is why we need a totem counter, so we know whether or not all of the totems on the map have been cleansed before popping the last gen.

Personally, if you are worried about totems - make it your focus and run the totem detection perk? I think a dedicated anti-totem perk is asking for too much; Survivors already have a ridiculous amount of counters as it is -- but I would be down if it was made into a separate perk altogether -- like, with this perk you get a totem counter and 50/75/100% bonus for cleansing totem bloodpoints. That way, it is another perk to force decision on whether it is worth it to run or not and leave behind another perk.

I don't want a perk, I want totems to have a count like the generators have in the HUD that says how many totems are left on the map. No detection or anything, just a number that counts totems on the map.

I love how killers say "just do bones" in response to survivors complaining about things such as NOED, but when a perfectly healthy addition such as a simple totem counter is brought to discussion, they scream that it would be a counter and nerf to totems.
I want a totem counter as well.

The hypocrisy here is palpable. When Survivors did do bones, Killers complained and wanted the bones to be hid better, and after the change they now boast to survivors they should do bones when they're a lot harder to find, especially in solo.
So this would be a nice QOL change for solo survivors, and besides, going by what killers say in response to perks like NOED being "Just do bones" well, with this change we'd be following their advice so they really can't complain about this.

That would be pretty cool, I've certainly experienced that frustration in solo queue when you don't know if someone else cleansed the last totem. (or when you cleanse them all and you see someone else still looking for them).
I don't think it would cause any issues and it's information I already get for free in SWF.

I like an idea shared in another thread on the forums: something like five candles in the basement, and the flame goes out for each totem cleansed. Also, buff Small Game to show how many totems have been cleansed or remain.

Honestly this would be nice for killers as well, even though it would make Hex: Thrill of the hunt token crap basically useless.

No. This is an unacceptable solution. I don't want to once in a while get a quick look of where a totem in X amount of meters to me is. I want a quality of life update for solo players.
