Where did the match making go.
Seriously, I am still getting matched against and with people who have WAY MORE SKILL THAN I DO. I'm 300 hours into this game and I'm going against people with 2000 hours +. I'm getting steamed rolled in all my games.
Could you please make this game more new player friendly. Good god, I'm not enjoying this at all and I'm regretting spending any money on this game.
Frustrating.

This is how the old rank-as-matchmaker pretty much always worked. And since the MMR system was disabled because it wasn't working as they intended, we got put back into the rank-as-matchmaker. So, here we are . . . again.

I have 650 hours in game as killer and Im matched against Survivors with 3k+ hours on a regular basis and I usually wreck them.
Playing against people better than you is how you learn new ways to play. New stratagies, new mind games, applying pressure in different ways. If you always play against people at your skill level or below you won't have the same opportunity to get better.
Game time also is not a good measurement of skill in this game. Experience maybe, but not skill.

While this is true, you can't learn when everything you do is completely shut down by the opposing team. You can't teach a dog to fetch if you yell at it while you throw something. There needs to be a mix of successes and failures so a person has a baseline to build off of.

It's annoying, but useful. I was so proud of myself when I lasted longer than expected against a rank 2 killer as a rank 7 survivor, and it actually helped me with noticing tactics and such. It's not a massive difference at first glance, but to think that after months of hard work and strategizing I was able to do more than I had thought is soooo rewarding!! Unfortunately, you will have to roll with the punches, but soon enough you'll be able to counter and strategize! Don't give up :)!

@lolbananas Hang in there, I know it can feel so frustrating! I've been playing 3 months now, and 2 things that helped me:
1.) Watch the Shrine! When a meta perk comes up like BBQ & Chili or Borrowed Time, buy it with Iri shards. Doing so will make you more competitive without having to grind for the perks you want.
2.) Play both sides! When you feel burnt out, switch to playing the other side. Skills learned are often transferrable and help you learn your opponent's thought process.
Good luck :)
