Please overhaul the way challenges and rewards work for the next tome.

Coming in from another thread:

There's a lot of challenges that call for being toxic, especially for killers:

Close hatch X times, sacrifice x times during EGC, etc.*

Seeing that these challenges 'barely' reward anything (usually 'just' BP and a few fragments (usually 3)) but are often blocking one from the memories, the next tome should make sure there's more challenges that are, well, challenging, but without having to resort to being toxic.

YMMV, but these challenges are frustrating for both sides in a match.

EDIT:

*to clarify: the toxicity comes from people who think 'closing the hatch' and/or 'egc sacrifices' mean 'carry the last survivors to the hatch, close it in front of them and then sacrify/mori them.

How is closing the goddamn hatch toxic? #########?

Closing the hatch I don't have an issue with, nor hooking survivors in end game. I do have an issue with things such as "blind/.....burn a killer 5 times" or "kill all 4 survivors by an means". No wonder there's been a lot of mori's recently.

Thing is, to move up to the next set of challenges, I have to at least one of the above - I'm rubbish with a flashlight and think it's just nasty to be constantly trying to blind killers, so I unless I get lucky with a 4K, I guess I'll have to mori my way to the next rift tome.

Or just not bother trying to get there

LOL I'm trash with a flash light, too- I got lucky the other day when I loaded into a match with an AFK Demo. I just borrowed (wasted 😭) my boyfriend's flashlight and blinded the AFK Demo 4 times in a row after having had the challenge on for dozens of games and only getting one blind LMAO

More directly on topic, I don't mind the tough challenges. I think that's the point as you go deeper into the tome- it isn't supposed to be a walk in the park and I appreciate the effort to force a survivor or killer out of their comfort zone with some of the challenges. It IS annoying to have the last challenge before reaching the end of the particular level be extremely difficult, though, I will give you that.

I don't mind a harder challenge either, but to HAVE to play in a way that some would consider toxic, just to be able to progress, is what I'm not happy about. The matches I've been playing today I would have no chance to manage it; some just outplayed me (way higher in rank to me) and some quit when I knocked them down.

I know some have been trying the flashlight today; I have several make obvious attempts to goad me into breaking a pallet so they could blind me - I hate that as a killer and don't want to do it as a survivor.

Oh heavens, the flashlight one. Each tome (not a typo) I manage it it's cause I got an afk killer...

Closing it as such isn't. The other thread was about closing the hatch AFTER carrying the last survivor there, letting them crawl to it and closing it in front of them, just to be a douche. and someone said the challenge (more so the egc sacrifices one) calls for that way of playing.
