Haunted Mansion map(s)?
I know a good number of people think of classic slasher movies when they think about what maps should be in dbd, but hear me out:
A giant, abandoned manor, by the cliffs over a silent dark lake, the forest bordering its walls, fading into an overgrown garden full of deadly plants. The broken glass of the conservatory giving access into corridors where wails and footsteps echo and doors seem to go to no same place twice.
Up above is an abandoned observatory and roost, unsettling, unnatural caws and screeches echoing through a sky full of wrong stars.
Down below is an old cellar, half flooded with oily stinking water the ripples in ways not caused by the chill draft blowing through the narrow passages.
The library seems too large to belong into the building and the ballroom's floor appears to have seen many a dancer dance their feet off (and keep going still)

Yeah I think the theme would be really nice with the appropriate killer attached. It would be cool with a ghost type killer. Something like the nurse with being able to go through walls....

i was, to be honest, thinking multiple killers with their own respective parts of the manor. either original new ones, or maybe even killer version of some survivors.
the garden and conservatory could do well for a plant based killer (killer!claudette?), the tower and its roost for a bird-themed one (hi jake) etc.
It potentially could work.

i always imagined the mansion from the first Resident Evil (of course a little bit smaller) would be a great map. Or the police station from the second RE.

I like this idea! I was kinda expecting something like this to be included with ghost face, because of the scream movies, but I guess he's separate from scream.

Your description is totally on point!
And it has to be HUGE, dark, w moonbeams lighting the interior. Flickering candles, spacious in parts w high ceilings, breezy drafts blowing curtains through long hallways, apparitions floating through walls, old fashioned record players turning on at random, etc.
I’d add a spacious gloomy cemetery as separate, surrounding property map. Would prefer the giant rose hedge maze be a separate map, as well.
SO much can go into a HM realm, hope we get one!

OMG this would be my dream map! I wish we also got a victorian collection or the survivors.

Also, had a separate idea for a map similar to the mansion from 13 Ghosts (2001).
Each time a gen is completed, the map “transforms” like in the movie, where the layout is rearranged an becomes a giant puzzle where the same way you entered an area may not be the way you will exit into another area.
Would be really interesting, tricky and innovative as far as maps go.

In another discussion on this HM topic, someone (don’t remember who or I’d @ them) mentioned the multi story mansion have multiple rng statues of all the killers throughout each floor. Killers could have some fun play w insidious, surprising survivors.

Yeah, Clown needs his own creepy, dark circusy map! Wanna stalk thru a huge hall of mirrors, big top tent, carnival rides, games, fun house w a pit of balls or body parts, sth like that.
