It's frustrating not being able to test the new killer without losing rank
Here I am rank 5 killer and I don't want to speed up my rank with the new killer so I'm not playing it, it would be nice to have a server on any platform to try the killer before making real games, no I am not friends to do it with the private version, I am on ps4 thank you

That's exactly one of the reasons I want training mode like DBD mobile has. I hope devs will add it as soon as possible.

Players have been asking for that for the past four years. Rumor was that bots were going to be implemented into the game like they were in the mobile version, but without bots a training mode will never come to fruition.
So in other words it'll never happen because the devs don't care to create one.

Just ignore the rank. Unless you're still going for the achievement, it doesn't matter. The achievement also doesn't matter, but I know for some people it's important I guess.
I lost several ranks learning Blight, and then promptly gained them back as I got better and better with him. But even if I kept losing it... it'd just mean more interesting games where people aren't just glued to gens and spread across Ormond the whole time.

Honestly that was BHVR's entire idea behind the MMR that got borked and they shut off for the time being. It's also the reason why we can't swap Killers in lobby anymore since they intend to bring MMR back.
Essentially how it's SUPPOSED to work is that each Killer you have will have it's own invisible "rank" based upon your win/loss ratio tossed into some kooky formula that needs to be fine tuned so that rank 20 Killers brand new to the game won't get fully decked out red rank squads.
Once BHVR fixes the MMR issue this is what you can expect going forward.

The game has no ranking system. Ranks have nothing to do with skill, people at rank 1 are just as bad as the ones at rank 10. In general, 90% of the game's community is really bad, but that's a topic for a different discussion entirely, so overall always focus on improvement rather than rank, since there is no such system.

I would really like a "normal" mode, where your ranks doesn't matter but you can still get bloodpoints.

why play PVP if you don't care about winning

I was a rank 5 Freddy and Legion main. I only played those killers to keep my rank. Then I played ghostface and kept depiping. But eventually I got good with him and now I got a third main.
So don't worry about your rank. Unless your boosted, if you get it once you'll get it again. Maybe even get higher with more teachables.

Rank is a bit of a joke. It doesn't mean anything except you've played for a long time. Blight carried my arse from rank 4 to rank 1, and I'm not especially great.

I went from rank 3 to 10 in a 24 hour period because pretty much every Blight game was a depip and occasional safety pip.
BUT....
I’m finally getting getting used to him and enjoying myself, and even winning now.

not pipping definitely isn't winning so.. for killer, generally pipping means you did pretty well.. thus if you stay at rank 1 killer you're probably winning
