Reviewing Forum Etiquette
Now, before you leave that comment like, "I don't need to be educated stop treating me like a child!" This is just for the people that have lost their manners. (Sometimes, myself included.) But let's take a second and review some obvious thing that some of us have forgotten.
1). Don't get mad at bait or meme threads.
Obviously. I made a "Freddy should get stunned by fake pallets" post the other day and only one person even noticed I was joking. One person even got mad and defensive.
2). Consider any possible skill gap.
Many people argue about a perk-that-shall-not-cause-contriversy-in-this-thread and it's viability. Some come with killers, killer perks, there are so many possible things that take skill that you or the person may have. Which brings me to the next rule...
3). Consider their view on the game.
Experienced players, newbies, survivors, killers, hybrids. Everyone could be sorted into one of these groups. It's your job to consider their views before think, "mine is better!!!"
4). Don't make DS threads
Not Etiquette, but I'd like to not see a DS or Spirit thread for a day or two. Please.
5). Try not to be toxic. Keep your cool.
Everytime you get mad at someone else's view and you leave a toxic comment, it fuels the fire. They then troll you for your reaction. (Might or might not be guilty of this.)
That brings me to the conclusion of this thread. I probably missed a lot but I'm too small brained to think of anything else. (Review 4 again)

With all the Spirit and DS threads, I'm surprised we haven't filed for a trademarked salt company.
It's getting old.

2). Consider any possible skill gap.
This is so important, especially in threads about whether something is over/under powered. It needs to be balanced at all skill levels or the game will stagnate.

Isn’t every thread a DS thread, tho?
Even if the discussion starts out as,
”Hey everyone! Devs have announced they are rewarding all players free cosmetics & 1,000,000 Bloodpoints today, jus because we’re Loved!!!
...we all kno that 3 comments in, someone will be speaking their mind on “DS this!” an “DS that!” 🙄
it’s almost unavoidable😔

this post made me giggle but i 100% agree ppl are so mean for like no reason.

People can make DS threads if they want. I agree with the rest, though.

Just like ds itself 😭

Most times people get mad at me for stating my opinion on certain topics. Hit dogs bark.

Nobody is allowed to be wrong on the internet.

Or people could just remain familiar with the forum guidelines...

You forgot that "being respectful" and "not directly insulting someone with hurtful words" aren't even remotely the same thing. The sheer amount of assumptions and straw-man arguments is insane and I think it's been getting to people that try to open their mind a little. Say one thing, and suddenly you're a toxic main, you have all these opinions, you don't know what you're talking about and your opinions (that you don't even have) and experiences are invalid. It's been really driving some of the threads.

How exactly do you define "wrong"?

I'll keep voicing my own opinion and I don't really care what people think about it. Walking tip-toe around to not offend anyone is not worth it.

With a lot of teabagging and flashlight clicking usually.

How exactly do you define "a lot"?

This post needs to stay near the top.
I don't even care that bumping is cringe. This post needs it.

only one person even noticed I was joking.
Considering how often I take the bait, I will wear this with p r i d e.

Hmm.
Generally I would say seven taps on the left ctrl key to signify dominance, followed by turning your camera while repeatedly clicking your flashlight at least seven or eight times. Nine if you're feeling generous. Then repeating the process followed by a long crouch and tilting your camera up and down.
That would be a generous amount of teabags and clicks. Any more and you risk overdoing it. The balance is something we can all appreciate in our endeavors in the fog.
