That's literally a reason to update, an update which is already 18 months old by the way..
It is a warning that means that your Windows doesn't have SHA-2 code signing support and you need to have it next month because it is now required by EAC which means starting next month you won't be able to play games that use Easy Anti-Cheat.

very dumb indeed. as if Anti Cheat actually worked for anything tbh. the game is full of hacks everywhere whatever good to know.

EAC is actually pretty good at what it does and requiring SHA-2 code signing support will improve things so it's a good thing.
However, somewhat ironically, EAC is literally 100% ineffective when it comes to detecting and/or stopping the problem specific only to this game because of the way the code was written from the begining. I'm fairly certain that they are working to fix that and other issues surrounding it but since it pretty much means rewriting the game it's being done quietly and will take quite awhile.
Also I forgot to mention that the SHA-2 code signing support update is available to Win7 users.

You should probably install updates if you're at all concerned with security holes.
