Watching Hexy's tournament today has confirmed what I've been saying...
- Spirit is ovrhyped. Don't get me wrong she's good, she's very good, but she's not this unstoppable beast people make her out to be. Same for Freddy and Pyramidhead.
- Nurse is still the only killer that comes close to looking OP. Now it takes a lot of practice to get that good and you need to make very few mistakes, but she still has by far the highest potential in the game and it's ridiculous that some people try to put Spirit over her in tier lists because they read others say it online.
- DS is also overrated. Killers can still hard tunnel/proxy camp through it, get one out of the game fast enough to try and win the game.
- $10,000 dollars on the line, competitive tournament and people are bringing NOED. Almost as if it's a really strong perk whereas some people try to downplay it and pretend it's bad.
- If killers hard tunnel then survivors need to rush gens to escape which means they don't have time to do 5 totems on top. Some people argue they have plenty of time.
I've been saying all this for a long time 🤔

$10,000 and players are letting NoED through? #########

Spirit isn't overhyped, most of the spirits were garbage, watch the good spirits like trickster and ayrun play.
Nurse is still the best killer.
I think the only thing that made DS look overhyped in the tourney was the bug.
Agreed, noed still needs to be deleted.

You can't compare tournament level DBD to normal DBD.
That doesn't make any sense.
Everyone knows that Freddy,Pyramidhead and Spirit aren't OP in the sense of that you can't escape them at all ever. It's just really hard.
Nurse still being the best was never anything new
Using noed just makes sense considering how fast these teams repair the generators. It's pretty useless though because it should only confirm maybe one kill at best.
It is obvious that survivors need to rush gens if the killer is hard tunneling/camping but again, this should give the killer maybe 1 or 2 kills at best

As a nurse main, who has endured a lot of pain to learn the nurse I have become as a rank 1 I can tell you for certain whilst she is a powerful killer, she is not OP and I would 100%, without doubt put spirit in a higher tier to nurse if not on the same level.
The reason I say this is because I know all the bugs that come with nurse and if a survivor knows them, which some do she is very easily outplayed. I won't go into specifics but in certain areas on maps the nurse could blink aiming up but shoot directly down which would then end the chase. Blinks don't work on certain areas of the maps, again can end chases. Then there is delays on occasions with her second blink swing which is long enough delay for the survivor right in front of you to run just enough distance to miss hit them.
All that said, nurse is still very strong and can dominate most scenarios.

Bugs don't really count though. They aren't intended and will be fixed.......eventually.

The biggest things I see is that to remain even slightly competitive, every killer runs 2-4 stalling perks.

I agree on most points but having played in a DBD tournament recently, I can tell you that NOED isn't that effective.
The thing in a tournament is most teams gen rush, NOED punishes that. BUT it comes with the huge catch that survivors can usually just leave anyone caught to die. It's also only effective on maps like Lery's or Midwich that have strong totem spots.
You know what other totem is actually VERY effective in a tournament setting? Devour. On maps where NOED is effective Devour is also effective. Once you get 3 tokens you force survivors to look for the totem and if you play it right you can just 4 man slug them. It's also just as effective against gen rushers because they don't look for totems.
Other than that yea, I agree with you.

you're forgetting the plethora of rules and questionable scoring system that led to alot of perks and killers being picked
when its better to let a teammate die on first hook than save them for score, theres a real issue.

Saw his Spirit just now.
2 hooks before all 5 gens were done
Got another hook with NOED, at which point the survivor escaped anyway due to Deliverance and DS (no counterplay btw but nerf Spirit and Pyramid), then manages to get 1 more hook only due to the fact that DS is bugged so the extra few seconds allow him to get another survivor down just in time with NOED.
Spirit OP.

You mean the killer NEEDS to tunnel because survivors hard rush gens yeah. High level DBD play is boring as ######### to watch, its literally just rush gens as fast as you can, get out, don't interact with killer.

Yes, the survivors don't get any points for unhooking and no bonus points for all 4 getting out so they have no incentive to go back for a friend. Which is not how players normally play. I would change the points to 1 point for each completed gen and 1 point for each unhook and 2 extra points if all 4 get out. Also the killer should get bonus points I feel for all 4 killed. Maybe 2 extra points for a 4k.

i would like to comment on a couple of these points:
1) "Spirit is ovrhyped" - this is a matchup of the best players this game offers. no one says spirit was unbeatable, but a good spirit will still curvestomp 95% of the survivors out there. these guys in this tournament are on a whole other level than a vast majority of this playerbase, just because they are able to beat spirits doesnt mean anyone could do that - also, even though she is so "overhyped" she is still one of the only killers that is picked over and over again by each team, which in itself should be a testament of her strength.
2) "Nurse is still the only killer that comes close to looking OP" - im totally with you on this one, she is definitely the best killer in this game and she is the only killer that could ever be considered to be "OP", due to her gamebreaking ability.
3) "DS is also overrated" - even though you say this, every single survivor team brought the maximum amounts of Decisive Strikes they could (2), so if the perk was so "overrated", why is it that prominent? DS isnt ment to win you the game against a tunneler, it was never designed for that - its ment to punish the killer for tunneling, buying you and your team additional time at the objective. and given the genrush meta, this is huge; if the survivor can utalize the perk well, the killer loses tons of gen progress while tunneling down this one player which makes quite a difference to when the survivor has no DS.
4) "NOED is an extremely strong perk" - now im not gonna say that it wasnt a decent perk, but dont forget the rules of this tournament, the point system in particular. the survivors get huge amounts of points by repairing gens and escaping, so its only natural that they wont give a damn about the 5 dull totems. their goal is to get gens done asap before the killer can get many hooks, so they would rather have one person get instadowned and onehooked in the end, than giving the killer potentially more hooks throughout the game by cleansing dull totems, resulting in a higher scoring for the killer. the overall goal of the survivors in this scenario is to escape before the killer can get much of a play going, the individual escape is very unimportant. people go as far as to dying themselves just so the others can escape to prevent hook exchanges or possibly even another kill from happening. The entirety of this setting disencourages people to even attempt to counter NOED in the first place, which is why i dont think this (this tournament) is a great way of judging NOED's power.
5) "if killers tunnel, survivors dont have the time to do 5 gens AND the 5 totems" - i once again agree with you here, i think tunneling is a problematic aspect of this game, however its not something that can easily be fixed. if the devs introduce more anti tunnel things (e.g. BT + DS), this leads to survivors who have just been unhooked being extremely balsy, annoying the killer as much as they can, as they are now even stronger than the healthy dude who unhooked them (2 health states (that ignore insta downs) + DS), therefore trying to take the aggro on purpose, rather than using the anti tunneling abilities given to them to actually escape and heal up. i do want this to be looked at, but its super difficult to do is what im trying to say.
those were my 2 cents on this topic, thanks for reading ^^

lmao oh look....
A wild Hillbilly appears......one of the most dominant games of the tournament 🤣on pallet lodge as well!
So much for Billy being dead, I told you his pressure is still insane. I swear some of you people don't even play the same game. Nerf Pyramid though even though he's not as godlike as people make him out to be.
