Devs, you need to nip the disconnecting in the bud because this is getting out of hand.
Almost every single match tonight has resulted in half of my team disconnecting, and the killers have been no better. Look I get it, as a killer you want to kill the survivors, but if half of the team has disconnected and there's still 5 gens left to be done, throw us survivors a bone will ya? You can kill me, but lets farm a little bit, huh?
In one of the matches I had tonight, half of the team I was on disconnected right at the start of the match. There were still 5 gens left to do, but the killer didn't care and promptly killed us both. AND HE BROUGHT IN A CAKE!!! Why let a cake go to waste? Like I said before, you can kill me, but let's all walk away with something shall we? Why punish the remaining survivors for something that is out of our control?
Devs, you need to have something in place that guarantees a safety pip when survivors disconnect. It's ridiculous to think that we should lose ranks because players either kill themselves on the first hook, or disconnect at the start of a match.

though I feel you, thing is even if YOU and killer farm, you might get a safety, the killer absolutely can not. why? they can't hook you, they can't hit you more than once. and then they basically sit there getting little reward for it, so they hook you to get you to a different match where people won't dc as well as getting them to another match too. it's boring to "farm" with one or two survivors for 5 gens. chase doesn't help etc.... that's why they hooked and killed the remaining people, because one or two survivors won't help.

Killers do this because it'll take 20 minutes to farm up anything resembling decent bps with 2 dcs. It's far more efficient for everyone involved to just finish the busted trial asap and move on.
Edited to mention, 20 minutes of should crushing boredom, no less.

Had several killers ragequit today. Reached 5 gens then poof.
Switched to survivor. When the killer showed his mori that was more survivor quits.
Oddly people stayed in games where the killer tunneled them to death.
And hilariously playing as killer when I found 2 survivors healing I downed one. The other threw down a pallet and jumped over it back into me, and that was 2 dc's when I grabbed her.

If a survivor (or two) DCs, I will always try to give the game to the remaining two, as long as they aren't obnoxious.
I just feel too bad killing them.

LBR:
the reason is that from around rank 15 or so up the game has become absolutely frustrating to play.
What's been said above about BPs is one factor. Another is just how there's little to nothing to do if you don't want to play hypercompetitive. If you come into the game new, you are thrown in with high levels that take joy in taking advantage of you. there's no way to learn, no anything.
If you want to 'breath' the best thing you can do is play a different game.
SoloQ is a mess, and playing killer just isn't rewarding.
And coming back to the above:
YMMV but i find games in which both sides can breath (aka games that might still be competitive, but not to such an unhealthy degree) and everyone gains something from it.
matches that end with either side just having 4 digit BPs are a pain and I don't know any decent person who actually enjoys that.
EDIT: and again YMMV but personally I do find matches in which both sides can fool around a bit more rewarding than any 'get your objective done as quickly as possible' ones. You know those matches, where in the endgame chat the other side applauds you for impressive/scary/funny work, and sometimes even steps forward to defend you against someone trying to put you down.
The games where, sure, you all did your best, but you didn't aim to win at all costs.
No amount of BP will actually ever beat a honest 'OMG I got so scared. GG WP' when you play as killer.
And when you just know this is gonna be a 'be a douche to win' match instead, why waste your time on it?
