Hexy's tournament was pretty telling
There is nurse...then everyone else. Even spirit looked pretty pedestrian against these teams. But a solid nurse is pretty much unbeatable.

Haven´t watched every match yet but ye, there´s truth to that. At least now everyone that´s interested in the topic can see that Spirit is not as op as some people make her out to be, at least not against good survivors.
To add to your point, it also implied that good survivors can´t be beaten by any Killer but a solid nurse, so there´s that.
Apart from that I really enjoyed watching it - very good teams, very well organised tournament..

It sure showed plenty of what we already know: survivors' gameplay crutches so much on pallet-looping that they can't even handle a killer that can be countered by literally just running in a straight line.

Sorry I'm just laughing to myself thinking of all the posts on this forum from people who thought Nurse got "dumpstered" after her rework. Like these people thought she doesn't need a cooldown, and needs more blinks.

NOED Tournament *

in other news, water is wet

I’ve said this for ages and people argued with me till they were blue in the face.
Spirit is overrated. She’s very good but she’s not unstoppable. She’s 110%, even her phase walk only gets her so far across the map, often not far enough and if you use the full charge for mobility then she’s gonna be eating a 15 second cooldown before she can use it in a chase. Every wrong read she makes on a survivor too puts her on cooldown and you can see that good survivors can extend a chase against her pretty well.
Hence why I defended her and said she’s not OP. Yeah she had weak add ons in the tourney but still all you need is 4 people on comms to spread out the gens and she’s gonna struggle.
Whats funny is we saw one Billy and he looked incredibly dominating. 4/5 hooks before a single gen was done. With the way the SWF kept trying to spread the gens I think Billy and Blight (in future tourneys) would be better picks than PyramidHead. At least if the map isn’t too pallet heavy like say Ormond.

I was really surprised by all the pyramid heads. Obviously these guys know more than I do about the game and tournys but PH just seemed like an odd pick and didn't ever really pan out well in the later rounds.

Survivors gameplay obviously relies on pallet looping because its the only way to counter 99% of killers
And a good nurse cant be counterd by running in a straight line unless you're in rotten fields

So what your saying is that Nurse needs a nerf? Gotcha

you're jordirex?

This.
And it has nothing to do with survivors really. Has to do with the devs not trying to change it :/
5 -
Solution: let's balance everything around that tournament that was "pretty telling" (according to you) so that the game becomes literally unplayable for 99% of the community aka the casual community that play either role just for fun
1 -
She is still insanely strong even addonless. Probably not enough against these parties, but for casual gameplay, if you know how to play her, using add-ons is kinda sweaty. Even though some combinations of add-ons such as range + CD or double range are extremely fun to run - for the killer that is

Doesn't changed any of my viewpoints really. Coordinated survivors are freaking strong. Nurse is strong, but map and addon dependant. Spirit is the best killer in dbd.
0 -
Yeah I’m sure that players like Fingerguns and Knightlight who play a ton of Nurse themselves just haven’t figured out the complicated and unbeatable “run in a straight line” strat.

DBD tournaments have all sorts of rules and restrictions to make the matches fair, so you can't 100% draw conclusions based on tournament gameplay, where things like addons and perks are limited.

at least, against survivors using iron will

I'm 100% ok with that because as a Rank 1 Killer, my Nurse is barely serviceable. You've gotta be in like the Top .0001% of players to dominate on Nurse usually I'm happy with a 2k and I'm sweating the entire time

that tournament didnt change anything in my eyes.
Nurse is the best killer if you want to learn
Spirit is worse nurse but much easier to learn
other killers cant play vs good, tryhard 4men (good =/= tryhard)
maps are soooo RNG based (about 8 pallets vs 14 on same map) xd

It's not that she was 'dumpstered,' it's that she was made unfun. She's a stun simulator. Is she still the best? Yes. But the required skill to get to her peak is a very long road to walk, and it's fraught with half the match in perpetual stun by either game mechanics, learning curve, and/or her plethora of bugs. Nor do I recall anybody seriously asking for more blinks.
At least she put in a decent showing in the tourny. Maybe it'll convince some people to try her out more. I'm tired of running from DS and GF all the time.

Most survivors are notoriously incapable of adapting. :)

Tournament with random maps that favours survivors objectives over killers.
Of course poeple will play actually good killers as they want to win.
It still doesn't change the fact that most teams in that tournament weren't good teams in the first place. So many misplays...

My conclusion:
-You need a perfectly played nurse to win without depending on the survivors' mistakes.
-Spirit is good but in a pub that you have 2 or 3 iron will is worse than what the tournament shows. It depends on the survivors being potatos. An try hard, tunnel, camping.
-RNG maps are very uneven in layout.
-Huntress u need perfect game and jordirex skill.
-Ph is pubstomp.
-M1 killers are #########. Freddy included. It all depends on the mistakes of the survivors.
-Survivors need a nerf at top level.
