This is why I hate keys

So basically I was doing quite well in a match and had pretty much had a win in the bag. Then I see this hatch opens and both survivors leave. That is my main issue with keys. If you find hatch it's a get out of jail free card that can be used for bad play. It kinda ticked me but still. Unbalanced and there was nothing I could have done to stop the key besides hooking the 3rd person.

It's pretty frustrating especially when you've got them on the ropes. I've had it happen so many times. Usually I'll be chasing a survivor with 1 hiding somewhere, and 9/10 times, they'll suddenly dart for a location with nothing there, and it's always the other survivor waiting for them with a key. Now, I don't mind keys honestly, because if they want to escape that way, then fine by me, but there really does need to be some kind of a wind-up to it's use. Like 5 seconds of them using it and unlocking the hatch or something. I mean, at least before we could grab them as they jumped, but since that's long gone, we have no defence against it.

It honestly ticked me. They didn't deserve to survive and they farmed their other 2 teammates. That's why I was upset mainly. Plus I got brutal instead of ruthless because of one emblem score

I had a similar experience yesterday. 1 gen to go and the survivors had 3-gen'd themselves pretty badly. I had already killed one survivor. 2 of the 3 remaining were on their last hook. I couldn't figure out why none of them were trying to work a gen for like 2 minutes. Then suddenly all 3 escaped through the hatch. Entity displeased, de-piped. Luckily i play PS4 so i don't need to see the taunts in end game chat.

You got it worse since I got 2 kills and you got one but even then it's the same situation. Both games killers lose kills because of keys. Its ridiculous

Hatch keeps games interesting imo, if every game could be a slaughter with a 0% chance to win, it wouldn't be as fun
with hatch, it at least keeps both sides trying to win

Keys and moris should be removed from the game or get an huge nerf, both are frustrating for the opposing side and can make you depip even if you've playd good.

What do you mean? They did have a chance. They were at 1 gen with 2 people left. And the gens were spread out. If they actually managed to loop a myers long enough to get the gen done and the gate opened I wouldn't have cared. Plus hatch is ok I really do not care about it. My issue is with the key. Not hatch

I agree, it keeps the games interesting. I have no problem with the hatch opening to allow the last survivor to escape. I'm not sure how i would change either mechanic that would keep it balanced. Maybe the key will only allow the key holder to escape. And Moris allow you to kill after you hit stage 2 on the hook instead of the first hook. Just throwing out thoughts

Well for your key nerf if there's 2 people left and they both at the hatch then it let's them both go. Since one goes through with they key. And the other makes it through because they are the last survivor

There are three levels of Mori... no reason not to have a key type that only lets one person out... and one that would allow 2. But all in all, I don't really have a problem with either the Keys or Mori as they are now. I'd rather there be NO CHANGE to either than some idiotic Nerf to either of them which makes the irrelevant.

I still disagree since I get skeleton keys like its candy on Halloween(if you know you know). But I'm getting ivories more than ebonies at this point.

Good point lol I saw someone else say add a timer to opening the hatch with a key. That could be good plus perhaps new killer perks at the same time which extend the hatch opening time and/or give the killer notification that someone is opening the hatch.

Yeah that would've helped. I would've immediately went back to the slug and hooked them giving me a 3k and ruthless instead of a 2k and brutal

I don't disagree with you at all about the weird availability of Keys versus the Mori. Heck, I seem to find Rare keys every game when I search chests (I have the Perk which makes me a good looter). But I don't know if that is an issue with the keys or Mori themselves, or simply the Bloodweb and the chests.

I find, at times, the Entity QQs more than the playerbase.
The Entity should spend less time worrying about my performance as killer, and more on the Survivors who keep disappearing when I pick them up after downing them once.

I wish they'll remove keys and moris. I rarely bring a key because I need to care killer's feelings. Either they dodge lobby, or it's usually mori, noed and tunnel(but tunnel is almost every game anyway).
Just remove keys and moris.

The new hatch offering has made this a key game now. If you know where it will spawn, you can almost guarante at least a couple people get out.

We can agree to disagree. Me, I think the Mori is important to deal with SWF. Until that problem is dealt with, I'd rather have the Mori and Keys. Until the 5th Perk (Comms) ceases to be an issue, my best option is to turn them into a 3v1 just to level the playing field. :) So, if the odd person gets out with Keys, but I keep one of the FEW options I have to deal with the outside of the game communications, I'm down with that. But I do respect your opinion.

truly thats the only place for a mori, but if i wanted that i would just run tombstone and just pop it on someone. Keys are just like why, why do they open hatch without any way to stop them, IE grabbing o]

I kinda had the same thing. 1 person dead the rest was on last hook. 1 gen left and they are 3 gened. They escape with a key. Someone also had a map.

I think if a hatch escape happens before the gates are powered the killer should get some bp compensation or something. I really kills my fun when I'm chasing a david or whatever with 1 gen left and I run around a corner to see Nea teabagging the hatch and 3 guys all escape at once.

The only thing I would complain about right now is the new addons regarding hatch placement. I'm not sure why those are supposed to be a thing, granted the killer can see the offering too but it's kind of silly because it only encourages you to slug more to look for the person with the key because you know they'll be waiting for the hatch. At the very least those offerings should be changed into an ultra rare offering, not a common.
