Playing dbd has unironically helped me in real life.
[hi warning kinda a story thread so if you don't like those I'd turn back now thanks]
So, we all know about dbd, at least I hope we do, and the skills that we pick up whilst playing this game. You wouldn't normally think that anything you could learn playing this game could be beneficial outside of it, but unironically yesterday I was proven very, very wrong.
So I took my first driving lesson yesterday, and naturally I wasn't the best at it (but I still did some pretty sick parking). But somehow playing nothing but killer for the past 2 weeks nonstop has actually made me incredibly aware of my surroundings, and my hazard perception was on point. Concentration has also greatly improved, as well as being able to discern different sounds from each other (which is pretty good for me since my hearing is pretty scuffed).
In fact, even playing survivor has taught me some valuable lessons, from situational awareness to communicating when you can only do two things (yes that's also helped before), to giving me an irrational fear of seeing a bird flying away and wanting to blend with the corner.
There a point to this thread? Not really, I just found it funny.
Thanks dbd for indirectly helping me drive.

oh we dont talk about the anger issues it causes, just the positive stuff. we being wholesome here

DbD has unironically helped me too (after hurting me, but still). I now have a great understanding of terrible company response to a community, an example of how easily a company can manipulate a populous into not paying attention to real problems, and more knowledge about just how powerful money can be as an influencer. Additionally, I have learned more than I ever though I would about what is bad game balance and addiction.
It's a great example to use in all of the situations where I need to have a "popular" problem game to present!

And there goes the wholesome vibes. Thanks.

DbD raised me better than my parents could.
But fr DbD helped with my situational awareness a bit, helping me notice the little things in situations.

Wholesome vibes restored

DBD has taught me one thing, and exactly one thing:
2 -
Wait until you see a survivor walking and you have to resist the urge to use Demogorgon shred.
3 -
Ngl the image didn't load and I thought you'd just put nothing and I was gonna sob like 'how hard is it to just be positive' but no that make me chuckle ty.
Trust me when I see birds flying away its already hard enough to not go check it out (or depending on if the miracle happened and I played survivor recently, gtfo). Just a shame my stamina is lower than Clown's so even if i wanted to I couldn't.

If they teabag me or they are throwing a pallet over my head I won’t even try to resist that urge. More concerned about me using a Mori then! And don’t get me started on people randomly shining a flashlight directly into my eyes!

We can all hear the faint sounds, rn, somewhere off in the distance, of SWFs complaining about yet another killer getting buffed beyond OP supremacy...
”Look! This time the devs jus handed Trapper his freakin’ drivers license!!!”
2 -
Pyramid Head main but close enough :p
1 -
Oh, yeah I jus use Trapper randomly like that ‘cause he’s kinda the OG DBD dude...
PH does actually have a better fit in that sentence tho, tbh
1 -
Exactly, though if I was a survivor I wouldn't complain about ph being near me 😳
gotta stop being thirsty

Lol, I could not love this post more. I agree with everyone in here, I see birds suddenly take flight while I am out and about and have an immediate suspicion.

Dead Harding into walls in DBD has taught me to be more aware of my surroundings. And thus I don't punch walls as much in VR.

This post reminds me that way more people than I realize that I'm facing are literally children. No offense op.
3 -
None taken, I don't know how you could forget though with how 99% of this community acts
2 -
Can confirm I still walk into walls irl.
2 -
I just keep forgetting how old I am lol

I'd say this game helped me look at multiple points of view before doing anything. There's probably many other things the game has taught me but I can't think of them right now.
I did my driving the same year as I started playing this game. Safe to say my bad skills were showing during driving.

Dbd helped me control my anger issues.
Not kidding.
1 -
I remember when I thought NES was the pinnacle of entertainment lol
2 -
I wouldn't say its helped me control them but it's given me a way to vent them.
3 -
Whenever I raged, everyone in my house heard it and it was kinda embarrassing.
So I had to learn to control it and not get angry.
0 -
Oh when I rage I do it quietly and take it out on people online so I'd much rather be like you lol, but nah I'm now able to ######### about Spirit and Keys instead of the ######### that's gone wrong in my personal life.

Ngl, because of dbd, I think I would make a damn good tracker, just haven't tried it out yet, lol.
0 -
Yeah well hopefully it'll never come to that

Sorry for reviving this thread, but dbd has helped me even more in this past month of high school.
I can logically debate with others and see both sides of an argument much better now, lol.
