We need to talk about hacking
Hacking in this game has been getting worse in recent months and the devs haven't even acknowledged this with any mention. It's making the game downright unplayable and they think they can just block their ears and ignore the problem. You can't keep pretending hacking doesn't exist, it does and it's unfun for us to deal with.

I've seen 1 in 400hrs play.
Where are all those hackers? What do they do ? nice bait

I've been seeing posts like this a lot, so here's my canned answer:
In 2k hours of playing on PC I've seen at most 5 or 6 hackers. They exist, but they're extremely rare.
You haven't provided any context for the 'hacks' you've been seeing. Are you sure they're even real? Or are you reporting your opponents because they played well?

Mostly when I see people here complaining about cheaters it's survivors complaining that PC killers are "wallhacking". I dont know if this is your specific complaint, but aa PC killer myself I can tell you that there are myriad ways for me to find you:
You left scratch marks.
You startled a crow.
I can hear you breathing on the other side of a rock.
I'm using any one of the hundred or so killer abilities/perks/addons that lets me see auras/killer instinct.
I combined everything above with good game sense to figure out your location.

So you admit they exist but you don't want anything done about it? Hmm why?

Pc player for 2100 hours, just 2 times ever found hackers, still there are console players claiming that pc players in crossplay suddenly hack so much, I didn't see any hacker since months ago

That's not at all what I said. Hackers get caught and banned eventually, if not immediately. They certainly don't make the game unplayable, outside of the extremely rare matches where you go against them. I've only gone against two hackers in the past year (two survivors were both speedhacking in the same match. I know this because they were running faster than me even at bloodlust 3).
What kind of hacker have you been seing? You still haven't answered that question.

???
Just do the math, 2000hrs in his case and he had contact with 5-6 cheaters. So how many players did he see not cheating? Yes the entire rest.

Noclip, speedhacks, people who can't be picked up, people who insta-heal, one guy made gens finish the instant he toucxhed them (No not BNP, this was recently) and one even instantly made us all "escape" in the middle of the match. Stop defending hacking, it makes you look suspicious.

Fun story: Whenever I have a TTV user in my game, I'll check out the match post-game as a way to see what my games look like from the other side, see how I missed people hiding, and generally get a feel for the opponent's opinion of my play. Sometimes a simple "wow he doesn't care about gens at all" is all it takes for me to realize maybe I spend too much time in chases, y'know?
So, whenever I play Huntress, there's about a 1 in 5 chance that if I land more than one hatchet on a TTV user in a row in a short span of time, they'll immediately say something like "is he hacking??" because the very concept of landing multiple hits with hatchets is apparently foreign to them. While not a claim of cheating, after a Blight game I watched a replay where the dude was 100% convinced I was running Compound 21 and "it's obvious he has it" when I was using Alchemist's Ring and Rose Tonic.
People make a LOT of assumptions in this game. While there are obviously going to be some cheaters/hackers, I do not think the problem is near as widespread as people seem to think, and if it is, I imagine it'll be much more insidious hacking, stuff like giving yourself tiny percentage boosts that a normal player couldn't really notice, or doing things when no one's around so they assume, for example, that you just healed yourself with a medkit in a corner, but maybe you insta-healed using a cheat or something.
As for blatant hacking, I've seen exactly 0 in the 400 hours I've played so far, although I did enjoy that one that was on, I think Zubat's channel, where the dude instantly popped the EGC kill trigger early and wiped the whole team.

Again, I'm not defending hacking, just noting that a lot of people on these forums are claiming to be seeing hackers when they're really not.
You, on the other hand, seem to be going against some legit cheaters. I'm kind of amazed you've gone against so many. That's really unlucky, mate.

I've run into hackers maybe a couple times. One was a survivor who did two gens in like 20 seconds. The killer DC'd (I don't blame him).

Yeah, I'm playing on the NA servers. I can't really speak to matters onyour side of the globe.
The devs react faster to cheaters if you provide video evidence. It wouldn't hurt to get some recording software and spin it up mid-match if this is a frequent problem. Also, if you're playing on PC make sure to get their Steam ID rather than just their username. A streamer named Monto made a video on how to do this. I'll grab the url and post it below.

My assumption at this point is that hackers are more prevalent at brown, yellow and green ranks due to most people with thousands of hours rarely encountering them (more likely to be sitting in R1 just by quantity of time). This could be due to people making new steam accounts to "family share" themselves in then start hacking without fear their main account is VAC banned or to have to purchase the game over and over again if they do get banned. In that case, if it is as much of an epidemic as these forums make it seem - they need to address issues like that especially with family share + new steam accounts.

Seems a lot of people as of late are jumping on the "cheaters" post bandwagon. I've played from the games release and sit about 2k hours. I've seen maybe four blatant cheaters and several I was suspicious of.
Overall though I feel like a lot of these posts are people being outplayed and just suspect cheaters.

I've literally played against 3 people who could run to the other side of the map within seconds, and when they Dead Hard it's so fast it noclips them through walls and the camera struggles to keep up, all within the entirety of the past 2 months. So no, they're definitely not outplaying anyone

While you can argue that DBD is a buggy mess with a bunch of balance problems i cant say that i run into alot of hackers:D
Feel free to clip your hacker moments.
