OhTofu showing how to play Blight for baby killers who said he is unplayable
So for awhile I just watched OhTofu as a funny guy who played as an average to mediocre killer- considering how inattentive he is throughout the match (but he is running machine gun commentary as it's rare to not hear him rambling in some entertaining way) for tracking survivor's hooks, perks and perception of time. He's definitely worse at the game than people like Otzdarva or ScottJund (or even Tru3) because he's literally just playing to have fun instead of trying to optimize every inch...Anyways.
Not sure if Blight just clicked with him but watching some of his curving and lethal rushes - I willingly admit he is definitely a better Blight than me and worth a watch if you want to dig through his 5~ so most recent videos showcasing Blight.
While an Alchemist Ring showcase, this one at 14:00 shows a nifty hit at Killer shack among other things that seem basic but refutes those, "You can't use his power at loops" naysayers. He only struggles with very tight small unsafe loops (for using his power) in which case you are still a 115% M1 killer... bring Brutal strength or his Irris Compound to take care of annoying pallet loops or gun for someone else with your high 230% mobility.

That's just a cursory scan... I could probably find 10~15 more. This is not from PTB time but post chapter release - not even talking about his Compound 21 addon which was nerfed (I believe from 16m+6s to 8m+3s in response to those threads).

I just really want his camera moved up, but after playing him a bit I've come to see his strengths. Mobility is certainly one of the best qualities a killer can have and the blight is just all mobility.

there's only one thing that I loved of this video: 3:02, the "flick" inside the door, exploiting the no collision during the lunge in a very small space.
That was wonderful and I'll certainly try to master it

I find him to be incredible and incredibly fun to play. But yeah, it can be super easy to lose people in grass or follow track marks. PLEASE make him a little taller. PLEASE.

I think he'll be just like Oni. Popular on PC, but awful on Console.

Compound 21 was 16 meter radius auras for 6 seconds. It's going to go to 8 meter radius for 3 seconds (although it's a little unclear if that nerf is in the game or if the description changed and the nerf hasn't been implemented yet?)
For context, 16 meters is half your terror radius and is about the length of the central courtyard in Midwich. So picture Blight standing between two courtyards, he could see auras basically all the way through both. 6 seconds is also a long time, it takes him only 2-10 seconds to recover from a Rush so worst case he Slams a wall, goes into Rush stun, and still sees auras for another few seconds before he can Rush again and get a new aura ping. Combined it's kind of like having a smaller radius version of Doctor's Static Blast going off constantly as you Rush around. You get them while just navigating the map by Rushing, but also if you think someone is nearby you can just intentionally Rush into a wall and look around for the aura. It really is a little like playing Doctor but instead of a Shock Blast you can race around the map at hyper speed doing a mini Static Blast with essentially no cool down, all because of one green add-on.
So yeah, in short it's pretty broken. 😄 It shouldn't be at all surprising that it's getting nerfed, it's way too powerful. The new numbers of 8 meters and 3 seconds are probably more in line with what the add-on is presumably supposed to do, namely give you useful information on people near a slam that you can react to right away. Again for context, 8 meters is about the length of the killer shack, so Blight can detect people on either side of him out to that range. It'll still be really useful for that and probably still a good add-on even after the nerf, and it's still a Green so it's not all that hard to get either.

Hmm,but Oni on console isn't really much different from PC though.
The only thing that is annoying are the bad FPS.

He definitely can't flick, nor can he turn very well. The FPS just piles on.
Regardless, it has been a long time since I've seen a Console Oni, which is a shame, since I actually like him and his design.

Ohtofu is an extremely high skilled player. Probably one of the best players in the game tbh. Honestly I say he's better than tru3 and Scott. But I don't like comparing. Killer wise, tofu is a beast.

I played a lot of Oni before all these bugs made him super frustrating to play >:(
And i can say that you can very easily flick up to 90°.
His turning is pretty much the same on console too.
But yeah,i miss some good oni matches too,but most people rather like playing freddy,spirit,deathslinger etc.
Such a shame because oni is so fun to play against :(

Actually a lot of people have. Its annoying too, because I've gotten only wins since blight came out.
Thats not true. I'm on ps4 and ive only gotten wins and pips since he came out. I got my adept on my first match with him.

As a PC player I've come across two really good red rank Oni players that are console. They were really fun games, too. IMO, if my team isn't full-on potato, a good Oni tends to make the most fun games for me. He's also my favourite to play, so go figure.

Puppers used to say the same thing a year ago and a week later he announced that he became a Fog Whisperer. They're just fake and acclaims everything about DBD ignoring bugs just for auric cells lol. You can't trust them.

He's just one of those killers like Oni that I just can't get my head around. I had defeat after defeat playing as Bouncy Boi then somehow fluked a game with rank 17s and got my Adept. I'm now putting him back in his box and will only bring him out for dailies.

I'm not a fog whisperer and I don't think "gen rush" exists, I think that people who complain about it are just terrible at the game and can't see an inch beyond their nose :)

Tofu’s on PC though, not console where Blight’s an absolute nightmare to control. He’s just another Killer that’s great on PCs but hell on consoles. Of course if you put in enough time and are willing to deal with the frustration, then you can learn to play him. I think Blight players will be very rare on consoles because of this.

The Blight is not the Nurse .... steering is limited so you cant control him better with a Mouse or Keyboard then a Controller...

Yeah both sides, I play both i can see the frustration in both ways. And tbh all because devs still doesn't fix a lot of things on this game, forcing survivors to play in a way and killer in another.
