Do We Need the Blight?

When I heard about the Blight, I was excited. I thought, "a new killer which will turn the tides (in one way or another)." But when I saw his ability, I thought, "Wow, they're really running out of ideas." I see most people comparing him to Legion, but to me he is more like the Pig since Legion can't down survivors with his ability, but the Pig can. Both can run fast and both can down survivors using their ability. Despite this, I want to believe that the creators aren't running out of ideas because Dead by Daylight is one of my all-time favorite games, and I refuse to believe that they made a terrible killer that can't be redeemed. Can someone please convince me that the Blight really isn't that bad and in a way different from any other killer. For example, Hillbilly and Oni both can run fast and down survivors instantly, but Hillbilly doesn't have limits and the Oni has the potential to down multiple survivors at once

He's plenty strong enough due to his 230% mobility - though a bit dry in gameplay choices once you understand how his kit works.

Now conceptually... I have to agree that I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get a werewolf or an absolutely two-faced skill like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde which would be somewhere in the plague (Corrupt Purge vs Vile) or Oni Blood Fury type transformations. They had more potential for a "cooler" killer concept but he's different enough that I've had fun playing him

Can the Pig make sharp turns? If not, I'm convinced that the Blight is a killer with lots of potential

Blight is incredible. By far the most fun killer in the game for me. He doesn't play anything like Legion, the Pig, Oni, Billy, etc. Yes, his M2 is to "go fast," but you actually have to pay attention to your surroundings, not just to avoid things like with Billy, but to think of angles to come at survivors from. If you're just using him to chase someone quickly you're missing out on like 90% of his ability.

Watch Scott Jund, OhTofu, or ZubatLEL play him, they're pretty good at the Blight.

To be fair, they aren't good blight players. They are good players for any killer.

If the Pig is able to freely move in her dash, doesn't that make her ambush ability better than the Blight's?

What are some strategies can you think of that makes playing Blight nothing like playing the killers you mentioned? Can you think of any scenarios where the Blight would dominate, compared to Legion's Feral Frenzy, Pig's ambush, Nurse's warp, or even Demogorgon's pounce? Also, to be clear, I don't think that Hillbilly or Oni are similar to Blight in any way (besides being able to go fast).

Do we need a killer that hard-counters some of the most frustrating things in the game and forces people to actually play better than the killer in order to escape... Hmmm, I dunno.......................

Yeah, we need a killer that counters the holding w "tech".
