The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

So about that streamer tournament that was super influencial?
What actually happened. I was working and dont usually watch tournaments of stuff but i keep seeing complaints about what happened and Id love some context.

basically survivors gen rushed almost every killer and almost every killer was tunneling slugging and camping, which led to more people in casuals mind you playing the exact same way

Could not have said it better.

yeah the way people are playing now is reminding me why i play friday when i want a chill, scary or fun experience

Note here that neither pips nor bp were a factor in deciding the winner - they used a system that awarded points for every gen completed, every escape, every hook and every sacrifice.
If you haven´t watched it, I recommend you do. Otz participated as Killer for the Gentleman team and it was overall very high skill gameplay, I enjoyed it a lot!

Well besides the gen rushing and camping, tunneling, and slugging way too much then needed. They were playing a point system that favored survivor over killer so you could 4K and play very well but still lose to the survivors. So basically it was playing point system not dead by daylight.

I think im starting to see the picture here

it started smooth the first few games, we had our boy otz playing and few others. Some games killers did really bad others did some survivors do really bad. People started to complain about noed users campers, gen rushers, how its not esport ready etc. fast forward one week and everyone including otzdarva ran the most boring shet , it was 15K on the line so obviosuly everyone ran META, we had spirit noed, Nurse, Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Spirit and sometimes a pyramid head and even Wraith. The survivors who looped so well and was really good last weak became more immersed then p3 blendettes all they did was hiding and only doing gens, most games ended up with 3 escapes and 1 survivor left to die on first or second hook because of NOED. The point system was really flawed and some games was won because of bugs. It was both fascinating but also a frustrating mess to watch. The community got inspired by the way they played and now almost every game is gen rush, tunnel and NOED

Oracle got a reset for a Camaraderie bug. Now, I'd never heard of that bug before and I have no idea how they would verify that it happened, but that's the official version. However, it seems like they really didn't have a clearly defined standard for when they'd reset and when they wouldn't. The reset against Otz was questionable as well.

The big takeaway from it is the clear showing that a good survivor team is the power role, here.

Everyone played as “optimal” as possible in order to win the money, which meant immersed survivors not saving each other and rushing gens as fast as humanly possible, and all slowdown + NOED Nurses and Spirits tunnelling one guy out of the game as fast as humanly possible. Not that I blame either side, that’s how this game is when you boil it down to the most efficient playstyles possible.
In short it demonstrated why almost nobody actually wants to play the game like the “top 1%” - because it’s boring as hell. People enjoy this game because it’s unpredictable and exciting if you play for fun.

Dunno it was one of the best DBD Tournaments i have seen.
People seem to be outraged cuz it was the first DBD Tourney they watched (most likely). Everyone who plays red ranks knows this game is not very balanced.
Sure seeing so many Nurses / Spirits becomes "boring" but the reality is if you bring anything else you just watch Killers being looped and the game is over.
Cant blame the Tourney for the flaws of the game.

I haven't noticed a difference in either side since the tournament.
I think it's rather delusional to think that the majority of the player base even knew it was happening and that a significant portion of that majority would then adjust their playstyle based off of it.

Guys do you not realize it was NOT a survivor vs. killer torunament? It was a team vs. team tournament. So the rules applied to BOTH teams, even if it favored survivors it won't matter because it affected the other side as well when they played survivor so it was a fair match.
And if for example only kills counter and not the point system killer would just hardcamp to get kills and stuff which would be boring.
It was great how it was.

The only good thing was the Team Agony anime story and Otz playing off-meta killers
The point system was horrendous, the caster's made extremely biased rulings, it was a joke

It was normal competitive DbD.
For survivors, the comp meta is Camraderie, BT, Deliverance, DS, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, Exhaustion, Adrenaline. Immerse through Corrupt Intervention, split up and do gens, play extremely safe at every tile.
For killers, the comp meta is Ruin/Pop/Corrupt/Haunted/Noed/Rancor. Tunnel and camp the first person out, ideally before 3 gens go. That's the only way to 4k a good team. You have to tunnel and camp because you will typically not see a person on death hook for the rest of the game in a competitive enviornment.

The Tournament didn't cause any issues, it merely highlighted how the game must be played effectively against a SWF. This has been a growing issue for some time. A lot of people watched it, realized they have been dealing with SWF on a regular basis here in NORMAL games, and said, "well here is finally an option I can see works." You can't blame them for that.
The sooner Solo Que and Group/Team Que are separate, so the DEV can level the playing field against a SWF without punishing the Solos disproportionately, the better. Killers will be glad to take on either (no Lobby dodging) and will be happy to fight without a very limited, ruthless strategy. Right now people are adopting the only thing that works effectively. You cannot blame them for that.

What category did you select for this to be put in General Discussions?

The one good thing I can say about cross play is that they can't talk to me in end game chat. When I want to just play and have fun there is zero way for them to send me hate messages.

That's a straight up lie.
The story of Among Us is prime evidence.

Problem is that if you go first and do okay as Killer, you can all literally just die on first hook and deny like 8 points for the enemy team. That's where it's really broken and then you pile it on top of allt he survivor biased rules.

How was the Ruleset Survivor biased? (they couldnt use more then 2 of the same Perk / no purple or higher addons / no OoO / ds was broken / spirit was buggy).

I believe it was the scoring system itself that people were mad about being survivor-biased. That, and the fact that all maps were chosen at random even though the significant majority of maps are, at a high level, extremely survivor sided.

Took me a bit to find it but general discussions is a button.
