i think is mandatory to have an option to rec or keep the video that will give players SO MANY NEW OPTIONS, and i bet haackers would decrease because now everyone can record you and send the video proof, the game would be in a much better state... Rocket League for example let you keep the match in video if u want to see int in different perspectives in REAL TIME, i want that i want to send a video of that OR AT LEAST let me record myself seeing that hacker. taht would be so much better and ins MANDATORY because the game has a lot of hackers nowadays and is afecting the health of the game MASSIVELY, it should be TOP need at the moment, every decent game has an option to record or keep the match, why a big game like DBD hasnt? is actually top 15 on steam, why this game doesnt have such an option?. the game keeps increasing in numbers and devs are struggling hard top catch up with important stuff big games need, like really hard also is that expensive to add such a feature? will break the bank account?.

It would be nice to have a replay system but when Overwatch first started working on it. It caused huge issues for months on end. Something like what a car has, a CDR (Crash Data recorder), is needed. The last 5-10 seconds is recorded and then logs into the file of when it occurred.

A post-game replay system of the every hit a survivor took would be nice. Because when the killer lands a hit. SOME are manipulating their connection to the servers to land hits. Others are playing on WiFi and some people just have a bad connection to the server.

For me, I report it in-game AND Valve Report. So it reaches someone at both companies. In a game which has ZERO forgiveness on hits. It needs to be carefully monitored!

😅😄😂😃😆 on PS4 you can easily record your game and the hacking evidence (PC guys via crossplay) but there's no genuine reporting available. You can click on someone's name and click one of the fake reporting options but there's no actual report on any player actioned and it's obviously just a way to placate disgruntled players.

The irony of The PC Master Race getting so many advantages in the game and better treatment from BHVR but not being able to easily record footage is quite amusing 😃. Great thread OP!

...haha, wait, to be clear you can only record on PS4 because it's a function of the PS4 not because of any option given in the game. .

You can easily record players on PC (if you are using Windows): Windows key + G.

The Problem is that not everybody knows that, and not everybody knows that you are supposed to submit vidoes in general. And if you are reporting a steam player you are also expected to give them a steam-ID which you can only get using an external Website.

And even if you have done all of that, you still need to upload the video, YT is recommend but from experience I can say that it doesn't always work.

So imo OP is 100% right: The report system in dbd sucks, its such a hassle for the person that wants to report someone and the Devs really should work on improving it.

OR .... Devs could improve the anti-cheat system.

Hoping that players report cheaters with a video proving it to fight cheating is a really cheap strategy that won't work... will never work.

There is no perfect anti-cheat program but you can improve it.

But what i see is that there are tons of things to fix in this game, everything is broken and it's out for 4 years. Looks like a BETA...

I honestly don't think the devs actually care. As long as those hackers are purchasing skins and DLCs, there's no issue for them. They will, of course, act swiftly if one of their big streamers encounters a hacker, because those streamers garner attention, and if their followers believed that cheaters weren't going to be banned, they wouldn't waste a dime on the game. I could be wrong, though. All I know is that unless you are actively recording at the moment you suspect someone of cheating, and then proceed to go out of your way to collect info not readily available in the game (Steam ID, etc), and then proceed to upload the video to a forum that can then be linked in an external report you have to fill out in order to even begin the process of investigating said hacker, you aren't going to see anything out of submitting a report in game. The in-game reporting system is there to make you feel good, until the offender literally laughs and tells you that BHVR isn't going to do anything about it, because they've been getting away with it.

you didn't understand what I said or? People will abuse the system, this community, like in any other game, is so toxic that they will spam those false reports because "I lost the game", "killer isn't fair" and what else. It's a bit different in those FPS shooters since people know that camping in FPS shooters is fine, but when you do it in-game like this people will report it.

they only need to ignore all those titles of tunneling and camping and thats it.
