This Is Why New Players Don't Play Killer
You get put with sweat squads who are obviously either smurfs or they are green rank/close to green rank even though you are brown rank.

You got tier 3 pop and bbq on a rank 20.
You sure you're not the smurf?
I know I know, you haven't played in awhile, right?
31 -
you Are talking about smurfs? Look at your tier 3 perks at rank 20. The irony
16 -
You're devotion rank 3 bruh, you aren't new to this game and you aren't rank 20.
12 -
No, i got BBQ, Pop, ect. From shrine, saved my BP and spent all my BP. I main Survivor
5 -
You cannot call that a sweat squad. Take a minute to look at their perks mate.
- Only 1 BT
- No DS
- No Dead Hard
- Only 1 Spine Chill
- No Adrenaline
- No Sprint Burst
- No Unbreakable
- Urban evasion
If they were smurf accounts they would be using a lot better perks or playing characters that have some of those perks.
Now look at your build:
- BBQ - Meta
- Pop Goes The Weasil - Meta
- Brutal Strength - Extremely good perk
- I'm All Ears - Decent perk
- Recovery Add-ons - Best for Ghostface
Even if you haven't played in a while you still should've destroyed that team. I'd say the only player who has a decent build was the one who brought a flashlight and coldwind.
15 -
I play Survivor, that's why I am such high devotion, the highest rank I got to as killer is rank 18, my perks are like that cuz I farmed BP to spend on Ghostface, I don't like going in with little to no perks
1 -
My other comments probably didn't load, but I don't play killer, I main Survivor, farmed BP and spent it all on Ghostface getting everything from the shrine except Brutal Strength, farmed BP for Trapper
1 -
Even if you never played killer your Devotion 3. This means you know the game well enough to know how a killer should play. You knew Ghostface's best add-ons and got pretty decent perks.
Sorry but if your Devotion 3 you have a very good understanding of the game. Also at Devotion 3 you should know that's not a sweat squad.
10 -
Tell me about it. Match after match I was put against red-green ranks when I was a measly rank 15 trying to learn a new killer. Really not fun.
0 -
YOU THINK THAT'S A SWEAT SQUAD?
I'm sorry - I just had to chucke.
My dude, that was down to your lack of skill. Not their "sweating". You need to play, accept that you will lose HARD as you learn to get better.
Killer is no doubt the harder and more strategic role to play in the game, but nothing in DBD is particularly hard regardless.
8 -
It's the way they were playing, not the perks, they played toxic, I consider that sweating
1 -
What did they do that was "toxic"?
And why do you think "toxic" and "sweating" are the same thing?
3 -
With those perks you have it's obvious you aren't a noob, also there isn't even a single red rank in that game I would hardly call it a sweat squad , not a single DS or unbreakable being ran
1 -
I S M E L L C A P

I consider people that play toxic sweating, because they kinda are, I got the build from other people on the forums, I don't pay attention to how the killer plays most the time unless they are troubling to play against. For me it's harder to transition to something else when I embed it into my head. Playing killer isn't just muscle memory no matter how skilled a Survivor.
I acknowledge I haven't seen the worst of it though since I am not a red rank killer, but people also avoid it so they don't get put with green ranks when they have no experience, or even red/purple

I guess spawning in was toxic , damn survivors
2 -
You’re going to get stomped constantly when you start playing killer. Even when matchmaking somewhat works you’d get pips fast enough to get into games with actually good players before you’re ready. Best advice is to buckle up, learn the game, and get good.
2 -
Yep.
It's like when survivors call the killer out for camping when the killer knows people are near the hooked person. Why leave the hook when there are 2-3 people NOT on gens? lol
Killer: Exists.
Survivors: STOP CAMPING!
and...
Survivors: Exist.
Killers: STOP BEING TOXIC!

Proof I got it from the shrine, Trapper is level 35 cuz I needed Brutal Strength
Ghostface is my only killer at 50 and I rarely play him
0 -
So basically, you're just not a good killer (this isn't to say you can't LEARN and BECOME good, you're just not good *now*). You're inexperienced and have much to learn, which is why you lost. Not to mention you chose a killer with absolutely zero chase and gen pressure.
Advice from a killer with now over 4k hours: If you're just starting, play Freddy.

Got pop and BBQ from a shrine, bud idea was from the forums, grinded BP and spent on Trapper for Brutal Strength. I've only played at least around 15 games as killer in total and at least 700+ as Survivor.

You just seem to lack experience as Killer. I´m sure if you stay dedicated to improving, you will!
Your experience as Survivor will be really helpful in the long run.
Your post there though....you pretty much outperked them, it doesn´t support your point well I´m afraid.

The reason why I consider toxic and sweating the same thing is because of the amount of try-hards. Even when I do solo and see the three man SWF I message the killer, and give a GG cuz the other bullied them. Even if I lose.
I often mix them together because toxic people are usually the ones to run DS + UB combo but not all the time. Sometimes people don't take the factor maybe they don't have the Halloween DLC or haven't leveled up Bill, ect.
Sometimes it's just by the play style. That's what I consider sweating and obviously most people consider it by the perk build.

Shrine was for BBQ and Pop, grinded BP for Trapper's Brutal Strength and they kept swarming the hook whenever I hooked someone
0 -
It's the DBD community. Expecting them to not be rude is the equivalent of expecting a leprechaun sitting on a Pegasus to come crashing through your ceiling and granting you 3 wishes.
4 -
I don´t blame you for using good perks. That would be kinda dumb imo. I´m only saying that what you posted there doesn´t align with what the title suggests, sorry if I offended you.
1 -
No, don't worry I understand why
0 -
Even if mmr is disabled there's a matchmaking system to match you not only by ranks, but also by playtime and progress you made, you won't be placed with new players with a smurf account, no matyer how much time you didn't play.
A real new player wouldn't get matched with these, or with you, unless the matchmaking is taking more time.
0 -
So it could be since I have cross-play turned off?
0 -
Crossplay has no effect on the matchmaking other than the platform
0 -
I understand that, but usually the reason I turn my cross-play since I don't trust I will do well and the amount of D/C's with it enabled as Survivor

Euhm... as a new player approximately a week of play, that reached rank 13 I am jealous of the perks you have. I am still busy simply unlocking the teachables. You may be new to killer, but clearly have experience with the game.
The issue you describe is true though, I meet nearly exclusively purple and red ranks.
0 -
Not sure how long you've been playing, but this is nothing to be jealous of, BBQ was in Shrine two weeks ago, just got Devour from Shrine, and Pop I think I got two months ago before I even touched killer. I got it for Pig cuz I had just bought the DLC
0 -
Ok you can call them toxic. Though you can't call that a sweat squad when they are nowhere near good enough to be one.
What I meant about knowing how to play killer because of survivor is this. You know as survivor what keeps you alive so as killer you then know what it takes to kill them.
1 -
Euhm... you are complaining that you meet people of higher ranks with 3 perks that are max rank that aren't a part of your killer of choice.
I haven't had months of access to the shrine, being able to pick up some of the most used killer perks. I haven't had months of play learning the maps, flow of a match, the movement patterns of survivors and their tricks, abilities and perks.
You know how long it is going to take me to get a similar build to yours? How much of an impact your perks can have on the game?
You think you have it bad? You are a pumped up version of a new player... you have a ton of advantages over actual new players, don't kid yourself.
I am an actual new player to the game, I have to meet people with full meta perks, map knowledge, experience. I am a rank 13 killer and meet nearly exclusively red and purple rank killers... Please... go play one of your other killers, you may not use any of your teachable perks, you may level them up to level 20 for the 4 slots and then tell me how bad a new killer has it... minus the fact that you know how survivors move, play, loop, map knowledge and all that. Then come back and tell me I have nothing to be jealous about.
1 -
There's wayyy more smurf killers in rank 20 than there is survivors. Maxed out builds with BBQ, Infectious, Pop, etc. Plus this was not a sweat squad, or else the perks would be way different.
1 -
I'd welcome these sweat squads any day.
0 -
That rank 20 devotion 3 level 50+ max perk tier Ghostface.
I get what you are attempting to say, but you clearly know what you are doing even if it's somehow your very first game of killer.
0 -
You will get ranks closer to your own if you enable crossplay. Queue times will be better as well. You'll have a much bigger pool to work with.
0 -
Well theres your problem, you play survivor more then you do killer
0 -
Actually...no. Not anymore.
The devs confirmed recently that killer matchmaking was scrapped completely - with no plans or timeline as to it's return. It's a complete coin toss at present. I was rank 14 in the second game, if I recall.
0 -
He shouldn't necessarily know how killer should play just by playing a lot of survivor, maybe if he watches a lot of streams? But if you just kind of play survivor, you really see the killer fairly infrequently each match. It would be no stretch of the imagination for someone to only be familiar with killers in terms of chases, things like splitting pressure, dropping chases, etc, are very much learned skills. This is why more people should play both sides. When you intricately understand how each side works, you will better be able to predict and react to your opponent.
0 -
We can see your rank 3 pop and bbq. We can see that you're devotion 3. You're such an idiot lmao.
0 -
I think it is more to do with the abuse they get on their profile after a couple of games.
0 -
Using ranks to determine skill or excuse a loss is irrelevant. Even the devs have stated ranks mean absolutely nothing in terms of player skill.
