Did the Devs even try Blight on Console before his release?

Well, I can’t really say much but after trying him out for a few rounds, I got to say, he is by far the most worst killer I have ever played. He feel really wonky and broken in many situations. At certain times it he feels so wonky that I feel like I am not even controlling him. I feel so bad for people that actually payed money for him, I brought him solely for his perks and with shard thank goodness. I am going to keep trying him out but I want to hear other console players opinions/experience with him. Is he bad, good, horrible? Etc.

As a PS4 player, I quite like him, however there are some rubberbanding issues with him. But I like playing him too much to not main him.

Why do you think he plays different than on PC? His steering rate is capped you wont be able to control him better with M&K.

That is one weird acid trip. Ill have what you're having.

The rubber banding issues is the console movement bug it's really bad for survivor and killer makes you teleport when you spin as survivor or use a flashlight and it teleports when you use your killer power.

I like him, he's a very fun killer to play. Also I like that his addons offer a lot of variation.

The only problems I have with him are his too low fov and his lethal rush lunge flick. Right now unsafe/mindgameable loops that you can see over with every killer (even Hag), you can't see over with Blight. And once majority of the survivors learn how to dodge his lethal rush hit, you can only use his power to travel and close the distance to a survivor since landing the lethal rush hit will only happen once in a blue moon.

PS+ free month was in 2018 and after they had Legion/Ormond and Plague/Temple come out so don't think lack of care started then. May 2019 is when it became free on Xbox game pass and September 2019 Stranger Things was released. September 2019 is also when it released on Switch.

I'd say they just don't feel like spending time/effort testing on multiple platforms. Reason for not doing ptb on console is because of the time/effort it takes to get one set up due to console rules so could see same reason being why they don't bother testing new DLC on console before release.

Explain how doctor, Freddy and pyramid head are disadvantaged when it comes to console.

I disagree that PH, Doc, and Freddy are weaker on console, they are still very strong. I will agree that Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Huntress, and Deathslinger are tougher on Console though.

I don't believe he truly means they are weaker (pH, doc, freddy), I think he means with console frame rate on doc can feel like he has hicc-ups on certain maps and that's the fps issue some killers have on console is very noticeable. As far as freddie I have never had problems playing as him. I've been playing since 2017 and with all the horrible problems(sarcasm) I read on this forum, things are not as bad as people think. It is a video game and has come a long way. But imo on ps4 I don't even try nurse and I'm a true mess as huntress so I don't bother

As for the Blight I enjoy him on ps4 but it did take a few games to get used to the controls after bounce but he is exciting to play as and against. Probably imo the best addition since The Oni...hard to master but you can have a lot of fun even getting a 2k at r1...I'm not saying I'm optimal with him like some pc players are but I love him even on console

Like him so far, but man these bugs are absolutely annoying the shizzle out of me, can only play 1-3 matches as killer before I need to get off.

Oh I do understand I struggle on certain maps with fast killers, but until I upgrade next year to ps5 there is nothing I can do...it doesn't physically hurt me so all I need is patience and the mindset to adapt. I completely get ya, if I try nurse it gives me a migraine so I don't do it....I don't freak on Behavior devs I just accept that my OG ps4 can't handle her while I know there are some real good console nurse players out there

Blight felt really REALLY bad the first few matches I played as him (without add-ons, which was a mistake). For me, it definitely felt too hard to turn his Slam/Rush without either cranking sensitivity all the way up or using a turn-speed add-on.

That said, I just keep using his uncommon Plague Bile add-on in all my loadouts and I've been having a fantastic time with Blight. He has easily become one of my top 5 favorite killers to play, even in spite of all of the bugs generally affecting the killer role as a whole right now. I'd argue he's a little add-on dependent because of this, but he's just like Wraith in this regard (another favorite of mine, and they both get great add-on sets).

For context, I play on an original Xbox One.

Tl;dr: Run Console Blight with turn-speed add-ons; they make him feel significantly better to play. Plague Bile makes Blight smile.

The bugs I meant are, being unable to hook, kick gens, vault, or break pallets. The hook bug is most consistent, but the others can be sprinkled in throughout the match and it just wastes so much time and can cost me pressure.

To be honest I've been stuck in pallets after a hit and kicking pallets and gens is horrible atm, neither work properly. You get the prompt and press the button and nothing happens, so I see what you mean but I haven't tied those interactions to the blight(if that's what you meant)....it's happened to me with Myers, Freddy, Doc, Wraith yesturday

What really pisses me off is because crossplay is a thing ive been seeing a lot of console survivor mains argue that "No its exactly the same, my friends cousin plays blight and he stomps ass against PC streamers xbox is better!!!!"

Idk why people can't understand that different isn't automatically better

I think they did, but not too much. Just enough to see if playing as him wouldn't crash the game or cause any huge bugs. It feels like double turn rate add-ons are almost necessary.

I’ve only played Blight since he came out, other than that one Bubba match I played, so I’m not sure how other killers are. I was just making sure we were on the same page as to what bugs I was referring to, some people are lucky and haven’t experienced these bugs at all. Unlucky us 😢

Hes absolute trash on console. His turning is so limited. I had to connect a mouse and keyboard in order to get ANYTHING done correctly.

On PC, Blight is like A tier. On console, easy F tier like console nurse.

Just played a camping Blight on console. He wasn't bad. He's a hard killer to deal with as a survivor as he's all over the place.

  • Nobsyde
    Nobsyde Member Posts: 1,288

Blight on console is good. It's just more difficult to play, and you need to restart the game after 3-4 trials otherwise the bad frame rate will make him basically impossible to use.

I just uploaded a video with a new build I'm suggesting console players to try (I'm not a huge fan of Undying + Ruin, for the reasons I explain in the video)

He's going to be just like Oni and Nurse. Very strong on PC, but the effort you need to put in on Console to get that same power usually isn't worth the reward.

Uh, I dont know about you guys, but the last update really stepped performance up for me. I no longer feel like playing a powerpoint presentation when in lerys as Demo. The only performance issues I have found this patch are when playing legion with the party crasher outfit and massive rubber banding when playing double speed add-ons on blighty.

As for blight I can say he feels a bit janky but its really fun regardless, I absolutely love his add-ons, they are crazy.

I'm a nurse main on ps4. She's still the best killer.

Yeah every time I finish a Blight match i feel like I was the one bashing my head into a wall cause it's so frustrating to play him currently. The mobility in my opinion isn't as good as what every one says it is and the pathetic lunge at the end is so easily dodged I was better off avoiding his power and only using to make small distance between gens. I understand there are some who can do absolutely insane things with him but I really can't get the hang of him even after playing him since he released. I also agree that the turning addons are his best on console to make his power feel better.

I encountered a bug in which I couldn't vault a strong window (Mothers Dwelling). That seemed kind of game breaking...
