What is with the high spikes in Moris lately?
I haven’t really been playing survivor lately because every time I que up (solo) it’s always a secret offering which is 95% of the time an ebony mori. I’ve completed all of the killer challenges on this current tome and I don’t think there’s a challenge to kill someone by your hand as killer OTHER than the devour hope challenge. So what is up with all these moris? Especially to solo que survivors? Did people find out that moris were getting reworked or something? If I do happen to load into a mori match which I try not to by dodging most of the time, I usually just kill myself on hook or give up. It’s so unfair and unfun to go against moris which is why I hardly ever use them.

Devour Hope Challenge and the Kill your Obsession 10 times challenge. Since survivors suicide on loading screen once the killer offering doesn't flip, the next group of survivors has to deal with it.

I got the devour Hope challenge done WITHOUT the most op offering in the game though and the obsession challenge is stupid. Technically it means to play 10 killer matches and hope the obsession doesn’t escape. But that doesn’t mean you need to bring an ebony mori let alone even an ivory mori just for 1 person to die. I played 10 normal killer matches and got that done as well.

Just because you finished it that way, doesn't mean everyone else does. Doing the Devour Hope challenge without extra aid from a Mori can be a long time consuming thing. Especially if your totem spawns in the open. I used Tombstone Myers, and finished the challenge first try.
You can use Nemesis or "tunnel" because most survivors have DS equipped and mori them straight out of the game to finish the challenge faster.
And as long as keys exist.. well that's not the point of the thread, so no further comment on that :D

Two things:
- the Devour Hope challenge. People are cheesing this with Mori's/NOED/Haunted etc (and I can't blame them, given how unreliable a totem like Devour Hope is to stay up long enough to meet the challenge requirements on it's own).
- Mori's are getting nerfed soon-ish? So to everyone who said "zomg everyone uses moris" - you're about to find out what that actually feels like. No longer will they have to exaggerate. Killer mains have hundreds (some thousands) of mori's backlogged, because they haven't used them. Now they will before the nerf.

Keys can't combat moris. You'll get mori'd before you ever get to use the key. That's the biggest reason people bring mori's in the first place. Keys and blendy's.

Yeah well, when people wanna seriously complete them, they'll go for more secure ways than just hoping.

Imagine having to spend 10 or more matches working on a challenge, unless you have specific perks (or survivors needing to run specific perks) to even have a chance of having it done in less.
Its one of the worst, most grindy challenges the rift has ever had. and there have been some pretty awful ones.

I tried the DH challenge quite a few times with no success, eventually I slapped on an Ivory mori (kill 1 survivor since that's all I need) and got it. Of course, 4 matches later I got to 5 stacks on Wraith after slapping DH on as a joke. Considering it's so close to the beginning of the tome I can understand why killers would want to cheese it to get it done faster.

Idk but I'm playing only nurse now so if I see a Steve, Dwights, that hunk, Felix, etc, then I'm bringing a mori because of how it plays out.
Nothing personal but those cannot leave, I don't care if the rest get out.

A. The Extinction of Hope challenge. Not everyone wants to rely on RNG giving you a good spawn to finish this.
B. The Obsessive challenge. 10 games is a lot, so Killers are just trying to finish this as fast as possible, especially because it’s so close to the beginning of the Tome (same thing with the Extinction of Hope challenge). Hopefully the devs don’t give us another badly designed challenge like this one.
C. Killers are trying to use them before the changes.

I managed to get it in one go.
Requirement #1: Hook 5 Survivors.
A natural thing, nothing special needed here.
Requirement #2: Hit 2 Survivors with Exposed.
Easily managed to get 2 early in the trial thanks to Make Your Choice.
Requirement #3: Kill 1 Survivor by your own hands.
Ivory Memento Mori ahoy.
Requirement #4: Equip Hex: Devour Hope
It got cleansed immediately, so i'm really glad it doesn't need to be up and hit all previous requirements.

Do you really have to mori a survivor for the devour hope challenge? In previous tomes, the wording may seem like you need to mori someone when actuality you can just hook sacrifice them. Is that not the case anymore!?

I was talking about the "kill the obsession 10 times" one, which takes an absolute bare minimum of 3 matches, assuming you're able to switch the obsession and then kill them that often. Without any of the perks that change obsession or with less than perfect performance in those 3 games, it takes 10 games (assuming every single match even has an obsession) or more.

Keys you have to actually put in the work as a team to get to work tbh they're 1000% more fair and on par with balance than moris. While keys are unbalanced most of the time they come into play is when you've already lost or won. When it comes to balance moris are more important to rework than keys

They're probably using nemesis and furtive chase to kill as many obsessions in a game as possible and they want the devour hope challenge to be easier.

tbh I didn't notice a raise in Moris. I'm taking stats for another reason on my games right now and I have so far 2 Moris in the last 50 games during the last 2 weeks
EDIT: although I don't know how many pre DC's I had on secret killer offerings. That happened, but I think equally rare

They said it's on their list of things to be changed but it is way down the road, so no moris are not likely to get nerfed anytime soon. They will be nerfed, but very likely not for a long time.

Point number 2 is spot on. I’ve had the game for 3.5 years and have maybe used 20-30 mori for dailies/key/rift. All my killers combined have probably 500 or so sitting there.
when the announcement comes for a nerf I’ll probably use mine quite a bit. Then the “I see a mori every single solitary game meme might come true lol.

99% sure it's because they can't figure out how to do 2-3 of the starter challenges. Which PS ebony mori does not help you get iridescent devotion and you only need a green mori for devour hope.

Most killer mains are lazy or lack the skill to accomplish it by any other means.
I prefer the challenge.

I never use moris, some of the challanges are easier with a mori. So twice today ive brought ebony. Is what it is.

Then you were doing something wrong. My best round was three obsession kills in one trial, the last escaped through hatch, sadly. All three kills were registered towards the challenge.

The other challenges were about killing survivors "by any means", which many mistook as having to use a mori. For this challenge, it is explicitly stated to kill a survivor "with the killers own hands", which can only be achieved via mori, DH, Rancor or as Tombstone Myers, similar to a Mori daily.

A bug on your side, you mean? Or maybe you were unlucky and switched the obsession before the sacrifice was completed, which denied the obsession kill. Something like that.
